I've been extremely happy with Sweet Doggies for daycare. From the first introductory meeting it was clear that they really care, and are very thorough. Dropping her off for her first day was a breeze and after a few quick setup steps I was able to watch their live camera feed. Contacted Sweet Doggies back in Feb. 2023, for general questions that I couldn't find answers to on their website, but didn't hear back, so life went on and recently sent another email to them. They responded right away to the latest message that I'd sent, which was appreciated. For anyone who may be interested in enrolling their pup at the Sunnyvale location, note that as of early Oct. 2023, they are not accepting any new dogs within the next 12 months that are not already on their waitlist which began in April 2021. In terms of the age of the pup, they can't be too young, as the facility requires your dog to be spayed/neutered (from my understanding, this would mean not a puppy under approximately 6-9 mo for smaller dogs and under 12-15 mo for larger breeds). For vaccinations, they require the following: Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper/Parvo. I am putting this out here, in case it may be helpful for anyone who may have been wondering how it works with enrolling your dog and whether the facility is accepting any new dogs or not at this time for daycare. read more

Staff is friendly, and the price is decent. $47(?) ish for full day care additional $36(?) ish for boarding. 24hour surveillance video you have access to. Opens at 7am and can drop or pick up you fur kid any time between 7am-7pm. After 7pm would be boarding and pick up is before 11am following day, which I think is very nice and reasonable. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my mom and her pup Zeus! Since getting Zeus just over a year ago, Sweet Doggies has been her go to day care facility for him. He goes almost every day and very much looks forward to seeing his friends! The staff take great care of him and the facility. There is lots of room for the pups to run around and to prevent overcrowding, the number of pups admitted is limited. This means there is a waiting list if you're interested in SweetDoggies for your dog. One of the best features of Sweet doggies is the cameras. I wish they would play with the doggies or pet them a bit- I know they sometimes have a lot of dogs to watch but haven't found anyone giving them some cuddles/pets while they're there cleaning or walking around or feeding. A long over due review for a place I've relied on ever since adopting my skittish/shy rescue, Maple, 6 years ago. She can sniff out any ounce of bad energy and though she has some separation anxiety she's never not willing to go into Sweet Doggies. I love following their Instagram for pictures of Maple and the rest of the pack. The security camera is great to be able and check in with your dog from anywhere. Boarding and leaving your dog while you go off on vacation is never a great feeling but I love that they don't use kennels. There's always a human or other dogs to hang out with so it's not lonely/boring. It gives me anxiety to think about trying to find another daycare just as good if we have to move away. Out of caution we hadn't been letting her go to daycare since shelter in place but have just started back up again. I was worried she would be anxious going back, but Maple seems to have picked right up from where she left off. Sweet Doggies has been our dog's second home for the past 2.5 years and he is absolutely stoked to go every single time. The staff know him by name and also took little time to recognize us when we go to pick him up. They have the big dogs and little dogs in separate spaces, both having 24hr surveillance video. Lots of beds/cots around the sides of the rooms for when the dogs get tired during the day, and additional ones get pulled out during night. I often see the staff interacting with the dogs. It's also super fun sometimes when they have stories about our dog; it really shows that they care and pay attention. Daycare doesn't require reservations but boarding does (just need to send them an email). For meals we give them a bag with instructions, and when our dog needed medication there were no additional charges necessary. The only reason we had to leave Sweet Doggies is because we're moving out of state :( read more

We started taking our small mixed-breed here a few weeks ago. So far, I have nothing but great things to say about Sweet Doggies. The owner and his other staff are happy, helpful people. They know your name when you arrive, and know which dog you're there for when you return for pick-up, and will often tell you who he spent his day playing with. The facility is very clean, has a fun-but-safe environment (lots of things for dogs to jump and lie on, but no toys due to fears of resource guarding). The cameras are on during regular hours, and you can see a person milling around in each room, often playing with the dogs when not tending to their accidents. Drop off takes seconds, and pick up only slightly longer (unless you stick around and chat with the staff). All of the dogs are vetted for temperament, and there was no charge for the evaluation. They offer a free week (7 consecutive days), which we took advantage of. It's really helpful since (I think) a block of contiguous time really helps shy dogs acclimate (ours did). The first couple of times I took him in, I had to carry him. The last time I dropped him off, he ran inside on his own. If I had *one* complaint, it would be the camera quality and accessibility. They use an ADT security system for video, and the quality is pretty atrocious. That said, it's enough that I can still identify my pup and make sure he's being tended to and happy. read more

We used Sweet Doggies when my fiance and I went out of town for a weekend to give them a trial run and were very pleased with our experience. They run doggie boarding very differently than most typical boarding places. The dogs are never caged - they are each given their own little living quarters that is gated off in an area. They also get to all play together during the day which is nice. I thought that the staff was really nice and open with us. The one complaint that I have is that I feel like their billing system is a little iffy. They have very strict pick up and drop off times, which makes sense from a business standpoint, but I thought in some cases the pricing was unfair. Then again, they do have an amazing deal where you get free daycare for your dog to test them out in the beginning. Also, I really don't have a strong comparison point since this is my first dog since I've become a real person who pays real bills.. so I may just have gone into it with unrealistic expectations. We have been taking our dog Milo to Sweet Doggies for about a year. At first, we didn't know how he'd like it, as he was a pretty shy puppy, but after a few days getting used to being in a dog daycare, he absolutely loved the place, and now gets excited when he realizes we are headed there. On average, we drop Milo off once a week to give him socialization and extra exercise and he comes back tired and happy. Milo has also had a few overnight stays there, which have gone well. At first, he wouldn't eat much of his food on the long stays, but now that he's comfortable there, he finishes it all. Evan says they started adding water to his dry kibble and it helped as well. The open every day policy is great, plus the fact that you don't have to schedule daycare is handy, only overnight stays need to be pre-coordinated. The website for booking the overnighters is a bit balky, but it's a work in progress, so hopefully it'll improve over time. I'd definitely recommend Sweet Doggies. They've been pleasant to deal with, Milo is happy, and the pricing is competitive for the area. read more

This review is for the party room rental only. I have not used their boarding or day care services. The party room is large and has a small outdoor area. The room comes with two tables and two large baskets full of toys. The toys were great to have. They were played with the entire time. You get two hours for pawty time. They also give you 30 minutes to setup. The cost is $50. I believe this is a great price when you need a dog space to hold special events or social meetups. You do have to clean up your canine's pee and poo. They offer a bucket of disinfectant and waste bags. I brought a roll of paper towels and they were used to clean up pee. I had to also use my own garbage bag because there was no trash can. Just remember to carry those two supplies are you are set, roll of paper towels and a trash bag. I rented the room for my dog's birthday pawty. I brought in dog treats and cake, human cupcakes, and bottles of water. I used the bottles of water to fill two water bowls and for human consumption. I'm so surprised I haven't written a review for sweet doggies yet. I thought I had. I almost remember the words... Anyway, I didn't know what I (or really my pup) was missing before I found this place. There are so many lovely things about this place it is hard to begin. First they separate dogs by temperment, not necessarily by size. I like this because my small min pin/chiuhahua mix loves big dogs, and has lots of energy. They also have indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to run around and play. The people who work here are friendly and know how to handle dogs. They don't let the dogs run around and bark all day or get too wild. They have cameras in all of their playrooms so you can watch your dog play. The prices are reasonable and competitive. This is hands down the best boarding/doggie day care in the Bay Area. We left our dog here when we went to Hawaii. I was super worried about it because we have never boarded her, but she did great. She loves the people, and they were so nice to take a couple of my calls to check up on her (yes I am that girl). We take our beloved lab mix dog for doggie daycare and have boarded her at Sweet Doggies. The staff is always pleasant and our dog is anxious to go. We looked at other places and had our dog evaluated. Negatives were: run by people that looked like ex-convicts, too many rules/fines for owners, criticizing our dog for not being an alpha dog or having separation anxiety, facilites not clean smelling, staff not really pleasant. My daughter's dog goes to doggie daycare with our dog and it's nice they are together in a room since they differ in size. My dog is about double the weight of my daughter's. We used to take our dogs to the Humane Society in Miplitas until they closed and they would separate our dogs due to the size difference. It was sad to see my dog on the webcam looking over the partition or standing by the partition for her "little buddy". Their temperament is similar and my dog likes being with her friend. We're very happy that Sweet Doggies doesn't separate them. I highly recommend Sweet Doggies for daycare and boarding. It's a good feeling of not having to worry about my dog during the day when she is there. It is a little far from my home with a 30 minute drive one way to drop off our dogs, but I have never regretted leaving my dog there. read more

My sweet little Brussels Griffon, Penny, has been going to daycare at Sweet Doggies for the past year, and we couldn't be happier with the service. We were nervous that our rescue pup would never learn to make friends or play with other dogs, but her time at Sweet Doggies changed that. It has transformed her from an anti-social pup into a friendly social butterfly. We've also boarded Penny over long weekends, and love that we can depend on them to care for her in our absence. Evan and Kay are great to work with and my husband and I trust them completely with little Penny. One service I love is their relationship with local groomer, Canine Showcase. Sweet Doggies takes care of everything! I drop Penny off at daycare in the morning, and when I pick her up, she's clean and beautiful. With our busy schedules, this is a huge time saver - not to mention I love the work Canine Showcase does. Two of my favorite parts of the day are dropping her off and picking her up. Her eyes light up and her tail wags like a turbine when we get close to Sweet Doggies in the morning. She jumps from window to window, barking and chirping her excitement and when we arrive, she drags me out of the car to the front door. In the evening, Evan and Kay give me a status report on her day and I love seeing Penny happy and exhausted from a long day of playing with her new friends. So, we have used Sweet Doggies for boarding (17 days) and we used about 6 of the first 7 days for free. I only gave them three stars because while I really like their day care, I am struggling with their customer service and bed side manner. Here are the details 1. Neutral - It is true, you get 7 days for free. However, if you leave your dog past the pick up time, they will charge you for the day because it encroaches on the boarding dogs, you will be charged for that day. I understand this and it makes sense. 2. Positive - They really care about your dogs there and they do give feed back. 3. Negative - Their cameras are fairly useless. They are so high up on the ceiling, you can barely see the dogs. They should be near the water bowl, and other frequented places and they should be at dog level not so high you can't really see your pets. In addition, there are many days when they forget to turn them on in the mornings and this is pretty frustrating. We love to see our little dog get up in the morning and it is important to not have to call or email them to tell them to reboot their computer. Also, they don't have night cams. I am still confused as to why this is but they don't. 4. Negative - I am all for passionate ownership of a business, but Evan and Kay take a little too seriously. My wife was verbally reprimanded for looking in the window and causing the dogs to bark. She was also reprimanded for pressing the door bell too many times. I am sorry but put some signs up on the big windows and politely request that the owners do their best not to disturb the dogs but you never reprimand your clients. We spent over $700 with them and to be treated like this was a little frustrating. They should really learn that people are people and customers should always be given a polite request no matter how many times it happens. So all in all, this place works and they will take good care of your pets, but for the money, there are places that have better cameras and better customer interaction. read more

Ignore the 1 star reviews...Sweet Doggies is amazing, in fact our 5 year old lab quite often throws a tantrum and refuses to get in the car when it's time to leave. It makes us feel so much better when we leave her - sometimes for a week or more, that she is happy and well looked after and wants to be there. I love the fact they are completely cage free - she's never left alone in a kennel, even when it's time to go bed. (yes, the humans sleep with the dogs.) We've been with SD since they started, and I hate to see 1 star ratings - and not because of the way they take care of the dogs, but from people who have not even been there. They've grown a very successful and in-demand business so it's no surprise they aren't sitting around at the front desk waiting for the phone to ring - they are busy taking care of and playing with our dogs, as they should be. Its a good problem to have. To be honest, I'm not even sure SD is taking new clients right now because they are so busy with their existing clients...BUT, if you want to have your pup evaluated, plan ahead and don't wait until the last minute to get your dog in. Call and leave a message or send an email and give it a few days. If they have a waiting list, get on it. Don't discredit this company because a few people didn't get their call returned immediately - it's because they are taking awesome care of our dogs. read more

Too good to be true? Absolutely. I wasn't too concerned when my dog did not eat his food while here because I figured nervousness and excitement. When he puked after attending Sweet Doggies and then had diarrhea for days afterwards, i chalked it up to the same. When this happened after three separate visits, weeks of cleaning up dripping dog poo and vomit, the Vet bill, and learning how serious this could be, I decided no more Sweet Doggies. It's dangerous when puppies have diarrhea for long stretches, they can die. He had never puked or had diarrhea except right after attending Sweet Doggies. I did not take him back to daycare while he was sick, waiting nearly a week for him to recover. The last time he came home, it was much more serious and he didn't get better on his own. When I had pre-paid for a package with Sweet Doggies, I was told in person and also on their website they offer a refund if requested. Kay said, just buy the higher package, if you don't use them, we gladly refund for unused visits. Yet, when I called to request a refund after my dog kept getting sick, I was passed back and forth between the Owner, Evan Walsh and his Mother, Kay. They always told a different story and were quick to turn blame towards my dog and me. Evan told me no one had EVER had this happen before my dog. I asked, "No one has ever told you, their dog puked or got diarrhea after attending Sweet Doggies?" "It has never happened in over 9,836 days of care" said Evan. Ok, so he considers it a first, fine. But, does he take care of it? No. Evan blamed my dog and tried to find fault with me. I'm not sure what he is blaming us for. I am calling for a refund for days not used, per their policy. No blame is necessary. Evan hangs up on me, and doesn't return phone calls, even when he explicitly said he would call me back. Later, when I phone I'm given the run around, then Evan is unavailable, so I speak with to his Mother. She talks on and on about how customers blame them for things and it always turns out not to be their fault. She goes on at length giving several examples of this. Lady, I'm not calling to discuss blame. I want a refund for remaining visits. After a lot of messes and a Vet bill, I wasn't putting my dog or myself through that again. Simple, I'm just asking them to stick to their policy. The Owner told me he would reverse the card charges on Wednesday. When I follow up they change that and tell me they can't reverse the charges but promised to mail out a check on Thursday. I call to follow up a week later, they claimed to have mailed it sometime in last few days. When I asked when, they are vague and dismissive and instead blame me for switching Vets. As if that makes any sense for issuing me a refund. They ask me to wait two more days. Their story changes every time I speak to them. This is a two person office, you think they could get their story straight. These people are dishonest, and are very comfortable lying to my face. They also seem paranoid and preoccupied with blame. I wouldn't trust them with your dog. read more

I absolutely love this place I found this gem on Yelp while searching for a boarding facility that doesn't cage its furry friends, but is not too outdoorsy because my little Chihuahua mix is a pansy, I'm-always-so-freaken-cold kinda dog. However, he's still super active for a 8-pounder and loves hanging out with other furry ones and friendly humans who'll talk to him in a high-pitched voice. Sweet Doggies has EXACTLY that. We came in for a consultation about three weeks ago, got him in for a free week of daycare (which was awesome - I think that was my most work-productive week), and even boarded him once. This was the first time parting with my furry half in a facility and I was worried that he would hate being boarded, but he loved it! I can tell because when I brought him back a week later for daycare, he was choking on his leash on the way in because he wanted to go in so badly. Tail was flying off his bum when he saw his favorite humans (the owner and the short haired chick). Long story short: * Cage-free boarding. * Dogs get to pick their choice of bedding for boarding. I have used Sweet Doggies for a few years now. I admit that I don't think I fully appreciated them until I moved and looked at other dog boarding and pet sitting options. I've considered 41 dog sitting/boarding options and all have come up short in comparison to Sweet Doggies, even places that charge $10+ more a night. One dog sitter snapped at me when I asked how many hours my dog would be unsupervised (she's going to get a review right after I'm done here). One place keeps the dogs in kennels and owners have to pay extra for each and every bit of playtime. Another facility seemed nice but had very dirty sleeping areas. As you can tell, I am persnickety about who I trust with my dog. Sweet Doggies was recommended to us by friends who are current customers (have been using SD for a while). I'm very eager to find a day care for my energetic 9 month old to socialize ans play, he loves other dogs. After using a different place who crates, I wanted a crate free environment for him so he can actually play. Negative of SD is I've called, left a clear message and have emailed. It's been 2 weeks that I've been trying to get a response back to set up an eval appointment. Evan told my friend he called me (I did not receive a call). I emailed and he finally emailed me back asking when to call. I told him that day after 11am would work and that I didn't receive a call ... maybe he mixed me up with someone else. Here's the problem I have: I want to pay these people money, yet I can't get a response to put move forward via email or phone... Maybe they respond on yelp? But what happens if my dog is there and I want to call to check on him? Is there a separate number to call? I want to give SD the benefit of the doubt and if they made this right and addressed my concerns, I'd probably give them a try, but for now, this doesn't sit right with me. read more

We boarded our GSD puppy with them for a weekend. We explicitly told them that he gets fed 3 times a day (still a puppy), we wrote that down on their form, had already rationed his meals in zip-lock bags (gave 7 bags -- 3 bags per day x 2 days + 1 for the first evening); and got a verbal confirmation from them saying they'd take care that he's fed thrice a day on the timings specified. When we came to pick him up, they returned 3 bags, and our dog looked *really* starved. We had to feed him twice (over the next 2 hrs) for him to feel better. And now he's sleeping like he's never slept before. I paid 50 bucks per day for them to basically feed him, take him for poop, and let him play with other dogs. And yet, they don't do a basic job of feeding him. How can they say they care?? So, why give 3 stars? Sweet Doggies people seemed like they care -- but they need to get their act together. I might go to them again, considering I don't have any choices -- Pooch Hotel in Sunnyvale wouldn't even take your dog out for poop regularly. My dog took the longest pee and poop break when I picked him up in the evening from Pooch Hotel. Not to mention that they also "forgot" to feed the dog. And btw, none of these two companies would tell you that they actually did that. If you ask, "how did my dog do? Did he eat? Did he whine or anything?" -- the response would be -- "he's alright, and ready whenever you want to pick him up". You know what that means in the dog world? It means, "Which one is your dog? I have no idea. I'm just here for the evening on a extremely low salary." A-OK, meh! Update (May 26th): Talked to Evan, the owner, and he explained what had really happened. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to look at the webcams, considering I'm generally out of cellphone service when I'm away. Anws, I left Sunny again with Sweet Doggies for a day, and he seemed to quite enjoy his stay. So, I'm planning to bring him back here again. I'm going to let my previous review stay here, so other folks can see the entire thread. But, I'd suggest just talking to Evan, and letting him know about any potential concerns. He's definitely trustworthy. I'd try his facility out a bunch more times, and am hoping my experiences would be better and better. Based upon all this, I'm switching my rating to 4-star. read more

Evan, Kay, and all the staff are just wonderful!! I love Sweet Doggies and their staff. My dog, Jack, gets so excited every time we turn the corner and get close to Sweet Doggies. When we pick him up, he is pooped! Trust me, I have a high energy 2 year old Border Collie/ Lab mix, and if they can tire him out, that is a miracle! We bought a pack of days, and unlike other day care facilities, there is no expiration date, which is really nice for us, since we work in a restaurant and never know when we'll need day care. The staff always has something positive to say about Jack's day, which is a huge difference from our last day care. (The 'other' day care was Canine Corral- where they put a diaper on Jack for marking inside. Inside already smelled like pee...How was he supposed to know? My dog smelled like pee when we picked him up and would cry every time we brought him. Stay away from Canine Corral!) Sweet Doggies is a no crate, indoor/ outdoor, well supervised doggy day care, with lots of water and places to lie down (not that my dog EVER takes a nap there). If you love your dog and want a place that truly cares for your pooch, Sweet Doggies is your place! :)...Seriously, this place is awesome!...Seriously. read more

I just want to say that if yelp had an extra secret start that you give to your favorite business I would use it on sweet doggies. My dogs are super happy every time they go there (and very tired and sleep peacefully). Chuck usually had to be dragged to get him away from me, but at sweet doggies the staff calls him and he goes willingly, wagging his merry tail. I enjoy talking to the staff, they always receive you with a smile and sweet words and Evan will always have a funny story about your doggies and other doggies they are the best. read more

I LOOOOOOVE Sweet Doggies. We used to take our dog to the Milpitas Humane Society's day care, but they closed it. After checking out tons of places, we quickly fell in love with Sweet Doggies. The staff is very knowledgable in dog behavior & really made you feel comfortable leaving your dog here. They let us try it out for free. You can watch your dog on the webcams too, which is great especially if you're away on a trip. I have a 2 year old frenchie, and she LOVES this place. She goes to doggy day care every other Thursday, and she comes home nice and pooped. A tired dog is a happy dog. My parents also bring their dog here. She's a 2 year old lab mix. Usually, dogs will stress out when you board them at places, but not here. Whenever any of my friends or relatives need to board their dog, I always recomment Sweet Doggies. You feel comfortable and at ease knowing your dog is being taken care of. read more
