This candy shop at Newport on the Levee is so cute and has amazing fudge! They have a lot of other candy options of course, including freshly made items, but my family really likes the fudge. My mom is particularly obsessed with the crème brûlée fudge (a flavor we have never seen anywhere else). I really like the birthday cake flavor, but all the other ones I have tried were good too! The employees are sweet and helpful. Downsides would definitely be accessibility and price... the fudge is sold by the chunk and is not cheap. You also pretty much have to pay to park in a parking garage to come here, but there are lots of other fun things to see at the Levee while there! read more

This place was an impulse buy for my little man after his trip to the aquarium. Overpriced childhood candy meant to entrap the families who come to the levee with little ones. I knew this walking in and they seemed perfectly okay with my toddler "taste testing" while we walked around the store. This isn't usually the case so kudos for that. It probably wasn't too big of a deal because the candy is over priced and gets paid for regardless. My neighborhood candy store growing up was so much better but this was more about living vicariously through my son and seeing the smile on his face as he stuffed it with sour patch kids and gummy bears! It's an expensive candy store! All this candy you can get at your local Walmart or Kroger store. The middle of the store makes no sense and it's a really small shop. I walked in looked around and walked right back out. This store needs to relocate and put some candy that nobody has seen in forever there. read more

When you walk into this candy store outside in Newport on the Levee, it smells incredible. The smell draws you closer and makes you want to eat candy!!! They have a lot of bulk candies for sale. All the things you would expect like a large variety of gummies, hard candies, sour candies, jelly beans, chocolate candies, and more. The bulk candy was really expensive for what it is. Most things were around $8 a pound. There is a small selection of homemade fudge and gourmet chocolates. There appears to be a hot chocolate counter of some sort. I couldn't really figure out what was going on there. For the space they have the store felt kinda empty. I think they could have more options if they wanted to. read more

This is a perfectly lovely candy shop, located right outside of the Newport Aquarium. This means that you essentially have to walk past it as you are leaving/going to the aquarium. The place always smells great, very sweet, and it's set up really well. Everything is laid out nicely and the store is bright and open. I bought several items there, including some cotton candy. I was happy with all of my purchases. This place isn't anything extraordinary or unique, but it's still nice. I do think it's overpriced, but I expect that due to it's location. I usually stop in whenever I'm in Newport and get myself something sweet. Do stop in when you're in the area, just don't expect the candy/chocolate you buy to be phenomenal. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars not because it's not a cool place, but because they are so ridiculously overpriced! I mean I get you are down on the Levee and the rent for that space must be through the roof, but come on! I took my kids there before Italianfest and let them pick a few things out....We got 3 little paper bags (maybe a 10oz sized bag) not all the way full of candy and 1 bottle of water and it ran me $40!!! The mark-up on un-wrapped bulk candy at this place has got to be close to 800-1,000%. Really cool store, but I won't be back. read more

Terrible, terrible candy store... The location is wonderful, it is located near an Aquarium. Fudge looked somewhat o.k., but tasted horrible. Too many unruly children running around and price is definitely over priced for the tourist attraction. I would never go back there. read more

Cincinnati this weekend, we wanted to go to the aquarium and it didn't work out because of Covid they only let some many in. No tickets left for the day so there was a candy store my daughter wanted to go in and we all stood in the candy store in which we were the only customers with a few others in and out, and tried to come up with a new plan while my parents bought the kids some candy one of which was Cotten candy. A policeman comes in and kind of loiters around us weird but whenever...one of the associates comes up and says "excuse me but I am gonna need you to go ahead and pay for that Cotten candy she is eating and go ahead and exit since she is eating it." Which I get the eating part due to Covid but the rest????? I stared at her and said my father (pointing at him feet away from me) bought that Cotten candy for her 10 mins ago. She clearly called that cop in for backup in case she had problems with her thoughts of us stealing! read more

I bought laffy taffy there by the weight. I got home and tried some and it was hard as a rock. It crumbled as soon as I opened it. Got crumbs everywhere and I went to eat it and was stiff and hard on my teeth. It wasn't soft at all. The store could at least put covers over the top to keep them fresh. Tastes like if it were made in the summer of 2015. Super pricey as well. Hope they make changes. I wouldn't suggest this store. It's a gimmick. Your call. read more

I have to say Brad S. is dead on. I was really disappointed. I packed up the kids and 2.5 hrs to go to the levee and when i saw the candy store I thought they'd love it. But even my 6 yr old son was disappointed. He got bored and was playing with the large cheap novelty toys they had. Just because we drove all that way I bought some fudge. It was good but I've had better for WAY cheaper. read more
