Ah, the Ice Ball: not quite a sno-cone, not quite ice cream, but a delightful concoction of both. No where else in the city can I delight in the goodness of that which is the Ice Ball. It comes in two sizes: medium and gigantic. A medium is more than enough for anyone. With a dozen different syrups to choose from and even more flavors of ice cream, you can mix-n-match your Ice Ball. My favorites: - Blue Raspberry with coconut ice cream - Lime with vanilla ice cream - Root Beer with vanilla ice cream Of course, you can also get scoops of ice cream here; I'm a fan of the mocha and chocolate chip. Plus there's sundaes and shakes, as well as a huge candy counter where you can box up sweets as gifts. There are only a few tables inside Sweet Tooth, but if the weather is nice, you can eat on the bench out in front and watch the Newportians pass by. Price per person: $3.50

I have been driving by Sweet Tooth Candies often for about a year now and I've never stopped to check it out; it never stopped me from wondering if it was good though. I suppose the appearance and the location of the building never really drew me in, even though at a smidge over a mile from my house it's really convenient. For whatever reason, today I happened to notice a sign that said "Homemade Peach Ice Cream" and so I asked a native, who happened to live close by to this location for ~30 years, "is this place for real?", to which he gave a fairly emphatic "yes" reply to. For that reason, I decided to make my first trip to Sweet Tooth Candies today - I needed to quench my curiosity if nothing else. When you walk in, you can tell the staff is far more used to the "regulars" crowd. They have a more of a "what'll you have today, sweetie" type attitude than "welcome to Sweet Tooth, let me showcase our lovely product". For that reason, I tried to blend in and actually deferred to several other guests behind me in line as I perused the offering. I settled on Banana ice cream and Peach Ice Cream, both served up on a sugar cone. This may sound strange, but when I'm buying ice cream, I always like to see the product, which Sweet Tooth doesn't really openly do. I do this so I can gauge the quality of their ingredients. Even though I asked if all were homemade, and the staff member said "yes", I still like to see if the banana, for example, is a neon yellow color, or a more natural cream / creamy brownish color. Taking the blind leap, both cones came out and looked fantastic. Once I finally took a taste, I felt like I was in heaven. Sweet Tooth's ice cream was by far the best quality ice cream I have ever tasted. Having tasted a lot, you can tell they don't stop short on using a high butter fat cream (i.e. the ice cream was super creamy - creamier than any I have ever had), and I detected no "fluff texture" that you get from some places that pump in copious amounts of air to inflate the appearance of their product (that drives me batty). In addition, the fact that you can only get some of their ice creams a few months out of the year tell me they really go after quality and fresh ingredients to go in their ice cream. All-in-all, I came away super impressed with Sweet Tooth Candies. They have a new Super Fan with me. Tip: Get the peach ice cream while it's in season - it's awesome and they don't always have it (about 1/3 of the year

Some of the best ice cream I've had. Extremely creamy and flavorful. I tried the peanut butter chocolate chunk, and I will definitely be trying it again. Nice, local shop with quality offerings.

Delicious peach ice cream. Good prices. The only downside is the lack of seating inside and the slightly sketchy meighborhood

If you like Turtles, this place makes the best. The chocolate is very creamy and the caramel is soft and chewy. Cute little shop! Mmmmmmmm

My favorite part is being able to create my own box of chocolates...dark chocolate with nuts! And it is so good!

The old-school charm of the shop, with its vintage chairs and ice cream diner vibe, felt like stepping back in time. My wife and i decided to indulge in a sweet treat and as we waited for our orders. She opted for two scoops of chocolate and coffee, while i chose a unique sundae named bourbon it has vanilla, chocolate, and coffee all topped with hot fudge and caramel. Each bite was bursting with flavors that were both rich and unexpected, thanks to their homemade creations. The attendant proudly shared the shop's history having been open since 1908, adding a layer of nostalgia and authenticity to our experience. Walking away, i couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such a delightful spot. The combination of rich history, exceptional flavors, and friendly service made Aglamesis Brothers a must-visit for anyone in Cincinnati seeking a memorable ice cream parlor experience. I'll definitely be back to savor more of their creations and to delve into the stories of their long-standing tradition. Until then, thank you for a truly delightful journey! It's one thing to close early, but to post a handwritten sign calling the event "stupid" was shockingly unprofessional. It's figuratively and literally more than a bike race, it's a fundraiser that supports cancer research and survivorship through the CancerFree KIDS Pediatric Cancer Research Alliance. It brings thousands of people together for a cause that matters deeply, while also creating one of the most electric, family-friendly atmospheres you'll find in Cincinnati. From a business perspective, this was a massive missed opportunity. The streets were filled with people eager to support local shops and enjoy the events which is exactly the kind of audience any small business would hope for. Instead of welcoming that energy, Patty's turned it away and insulted the very people walking by their storefront. I love supporting small, local businesses, but this kind of response shows a disconnect from the community that makes Hyde Park special. I hope they reconsider how they respond to events like this in the future.
