Photo Collage of Milk Chocolate Candies that My Niece bought in KY at Schneider's Sweet Shop for watching her dog Mozzie. 7-24-2023

October 31, 2023 Happy Halloween Review #448 I received a box of sweet creams, peanut butter filled and truffle candies as a gift from My Niece who was vacationing there in Bellevue, Kentucky. The Sweet Shop is located just across the river of Cinci Ohio. My photos show the creamy texture and flavorful fillings on all of them. This Family Business uses the Old-Fashioned recipes of Robert Schneider dating back to his opening in 1939 and continues now with a 3rd generation, They sell Assorted Candies that are made right in the Sweet Shop plus customers are able to taste daily based on mixtures in the works. They offer in-store shopping or on-line and shipped in the US only. They make homemade candies with milk chocolate, dark chocolate and assorted chocolate. From caramels, pecan bark to cordial cherries and those teeth sticking white Non-Pareils. They also scoop and serve Ice-Cream so how Cool is this! Why not Shop online and check out their SWEET recipes andcPhotos of Delicious year round treats! www.schneiderscandies.com or Phone: (859) 431-3545 They accept most major credit cards for your online shopping and offer 3 options for shipping. Candy is shipped within 2 days of placing an order. Note All orders placed Friday through Sunday will be shipped on the following Monday from what My Niece told Me when she visited. Hours: Monday Closed Tuesday - Thursday 10 AM - 8 PM Friday & Saturday 10 AM - 9 PM Sunday 12 PM - 5 PM

Caramels- I picked the black raspberry, the basic caramel and the chocolate caramel.

This place is adorable!!! Mom and pop owned, everything made in house, grandpa (original owner) coming in to make the chocolate himself!! The caramel was delicious, not too sweet, not too rich, just perfect. Was greeted by a lovely gal who helped me decide what to get among all the options. Definitely going back for more! Please give this store a shot

Ice ball!

It's been a staple of mine for years when I lived here. Then I was back in town for the Taylor Swift concert. Bellevue outdid itself welcoming people from all over. They had three "swiftie" themed ice cream options and my crew got two of the three. Hazy and a lover sundae- both loved them. I settled for the non dairy ice ball pina colada flavor. So darn good. The owners are just the sweetest and customers are always taken care of. My ice ball was the perfect amount of ice and no big chunks. The flavor is so good and not syrup-ey yum!! If you have a sweet tooth go! So many options besides just ice cream. They had candies, nuts, fudge, chocolates among other dessert options!

Lavender Haze

Stopped in here while we were in town for the Taylor Swift concert. Bellevue's businesses completely welcomed the Swifties and fully leaned into having items themed for the weekend. Schneider's had several themed ice cream options. I got the Lavender Haze - which was delicious. A friend got one of the ice balls with coconut. We all loved our treats and I'd definitely stop in again.

This place is a landmark in Bellevue. You walk in and the smells are enough to make you so happy and bring back you to childhood. They offer all types of candy ice cream and gift arrangements. It's a great time to visit for the preparation of Easter. It was an end to a perfect day.

Love this place ! So heard so much about the ice balls that I had to come out and try it. The line was pretty long but worth the wait. Since it was my first I wasn't sure how it worked. The girl at the counter was very helpful and provided suggestions on what the favorites flavors were. I asked her to explain what it was that I was hearing so much about. So basically it is shaved ice, a scoop or two of ice cream topped with more shaved ice then topped with your favorite syrup. i wad able to choose any flavor ice cream... i went with chocolate chip cookie dough and strawberry syrup. sounds like a bad combination but it was actually better than what i expected. The ice cream with the shaved ice was amazing and different at the same time. it was a different texture of goodness, ice and ice cream mixed together. Definitely would go back to try different flavors.

I've balls are great during the summer. Specially if you take them to go and sit by the river. Service there is always a 10/10.

Great locally-crafted chocolate bars, many flavors, welcoming staff…read more When we get to Findlay Market in northern OTR, Cincinnati, we visit family owned and operated Maverick Chocolate Co., since 2014 on the part of Elder Street along the south side of the market, close to Elm Street. The staff is welcoming and is generous with the tastings: four of us tried around ten flavors in all! It was a hot day, so this was our last stop by the market, so it would not melt on the way home. We got some bold Rüya dark 65% chocolate, flavored with Turkish espresso, with a touch of traditional cardamom expressing welcome. The cardamom flavoring is milder in this chocolate than it is in mideast coffee. That works for us. We got two with mild bourbon flavors: the somewhat-sweet Prohibition, and the lightly-orange seasonally-available Old Fashioned (reminiscent of the cocktail). We also got some seasonal slightly-fruity limited-edition Thailand 70% chocolate, one of our favorites. And we grabbed an assortment of lighter and darker sweet creams and truffles. We used to watch the bean-grinder in action here. Last year moved it to a new factory on the Licking River across the river in Lexington KY, a town where they also opened a second retail location in 2024 that includes gelato! The aroma here is lovely and chocolatey and roasty. The chocolate is divine.

Service was a little rude when I spend $30 on chocolate. I was able to sample a couple options…read morebefore making my purchase. I also purchased some truffles to take home, and I purchased enough to get a box but they were out of the small boxes. I told her I was traveling quite a distance and was concerned they would not make it. She said they would be fine and put them in a plastic bag. She could've offered the next size up in box! And indeed they did not make it. Hate I wasted money on these.
