Unfortunately, when we got the cake and took it out to thaw before serving, the cake itself was pretty dry and the layers of cream were inconsistent. It didn't feel like the cake I had before, because the first cake we ordered from them was really good! So I was a little disappointed. Sweet Eden is a small bakery tucked away in Severn. I had tried a cake from them at a friend's place and decided to go with them for my daughter's custom birthday cake. Not only did the cake come out beautifully, it also tasted great! We went with vanilla flavor and a pink creamy icing which was not heavy and I appreciated that. Although tasty, the cake was not overly sweet and I appreciated that too. There were just some things that I thought were worth noting for improvements. First, my custom cake did not have a piped icing ruffle at the bottom as we had agreed so I would advise for both the shop and customer to make sure that all of the order details are accurately fulfilled. Also, my daughter's name was misspelled on the cake and although it was a quick easy fix, it also reinforces my first point to make sure that orders are being accurately verified - it's all in the details! And lastly, not sure if it was an off day, but the energy of the young lady at the front of the bake shop was quite off and a little stand off-ish. Picked up a box of goodies from this little bakery in Severn. The service was good the person working the counter was really friendly. They have a nice selection of sweet treats. Don't go in there looking for doughnuts or cake slices, because they don't sell them. They have cupcakes, macaroons, cakepops, cookies and alot of other treats. I will be back. read more

I love that this is my neighborhood bakery! And I really love the fact that they have something for everyone especially those people like me that have food allergies! Their gluten free carrot cake cupcakes are absolutely amazing! I get about 2 a week and when I was expecting let's just say I was there multiple times a week lol My daughter loves their red velvet cupcakes and cookies and cream cake pops. Needless to say, I navigated to the quaint shop and was greeting warmly by the staff. She gave me time to look over everything and decide upon what I wanted. I ended up getting two cupcakes: lemon and vanilla. A quick synopsis on cupcakes....cupcakes have two parts: the cake and the frosting. When it comes to cupcakes, I prefer cake that is moist and a little more on the light side of things and I like frosting that isn't overly sweet. You can usually tell if a frosting is too sweet for my liking if I scrape most of it off and leave a thin layer on my cupcake. About Sweet Eden's cupcakes: the cake was on the more dense and dry side of things but the frosting was perfection. The flavors were great as well. I ordered red velvet and carrot cake cupcakes and had mixed reviews. This cupcake store definitely deserves praise as the cream cheese icing was delicious and far better than many places I've been. It's less sweet and more tangy which definitely a pleasant surprise considering this is really how cream cheese icing should be. I wasn't too thrilled with the red velvet cupcake however. The bread was dry and hard, as if it had been made days earlier. The carrot cake was much better and more moist than the red velvet. read more

I happened to have a sweet tooth after leaving the gun range (go figure), and I happen to notice in the adjacent shopping center this bakery. I walked in and it was nice and clean. I looked around at the pastries on display and everyone of them looked like something to try. The cupcakes were decadent. The croissants were huge and flaky. The cinnamon rolls were a nice size. Some cupcakes, canolis, cinnamon roll later I am out the door. So I get home and I cannot find the cannolis. Instead, I had two croissants. Everything else was what I ordered. The croissants smelled wonderful. I was not going to let them go to waste so pan fried Andouille sausage, cook an egg, and stuffed them into the croissant. Sprinkled cheddar cheese and broiled the sandwich for 5 minutes to melt the cheese and a crisp to the croissant. It was excellent. I highly recommend this bakery. Bon Apetit. read more

I was really dissapointed. I oredered a cake for pick-up on the 24th. I was surprised when I received a call on the 21st telling me my cake was ready for pick up. I was out of town at the time so my cake set for four days before I could pick it up. When I arrived and gave my name for pick up, they then told me they could not locate the cake. When the cake was located, it was the wrong cake. I ordered an 8 inch cake and they prepared a 6 inch cake. The customer service was horrible. Everyone have an attitude after they made the mistakes . I was left to serve my guests day old cake. Also, they charge a customer service fee when you place an order. im not sure whats this covers but it an unnecessary fee passed on to customers. read more
