Kake Korner has one of the best yellow cakes in the area, so I knew I wanted to visit them during my search for the perfect wedding cake. We visited two other bakeries but the quality and price that Kake Korner provided solidified our decision. We finalized the order with the owner and she personally delivered the cake to our venue the day of the wedding. To my surprise, she also stayed around before, during, and after the ceremony and sent me beautiful candid photos that I had no idea she took. So.... I think I found a new bakery. A coworker told me about Kake Korner years ago. They made a beautiful cake for a bridal party. That being said, I'm from the Northeast and I have struggled for years to find a bakery that lives up to my exacting standards. For my daughter's birthday, she wanted a Hello Kitty cake and my first thought was oh God, where am I going to find a place that can make what she wants and the cake itself actually taste good. The cake was moist (which I have struggled for over 6 years in the DMV to find a cake that was not dense as a rock), the buttercreme was perfectly balanced (not to sweet), and it was aesthetically pleasing. I was able to get the Tuesday Special....buy 2 cupcakes, get one free. The staff were very friendly. I was able to sample the red velvet and chocolate cakes before purchasing. The snickerdoodle cupcake!!!! OMG!! It was delicious. The cupcakes are nice and moist, very flavorful. In other reviews, I've mentioned my son's allergies and they were very accommodating, packaging his cupcake separate from the others with nuts. I ordered a birthday cake for my girl friends birthday. A friend of mine had one of their cakes at her baby shower and we were so impressed with the snickerdoodle flavored batter (It almost tasted like a cinnamon spice, really good), that we had to get one of our own. I was impressed with the ease of the transaction and communicating the simple design that I wanted on the cake. They ask for 7-10 business days to complete a order, so I went much in advance and everything went smoothly. A few days after my cake order was completed, I received a call asking about my satisfaction with the cake order, which was a nice touch to their customer service. The only reason this place isn't 5-stars is because of the pricing. I paid $160 for a medium-large ONE layer cake with a simple design. I can not justify paying so much money for a cake. It was supposed to feed 25+ people, but cutting generous slices got us slightly less than that. This time around the cake was a gift, so I gave into the expense, but I won't be doing that again. I will probably come again and find a way around purchasing such a pricey cake. read more

I ordered the chocolate cake and the flavor was little faded and cake was too sweet and dense textured. I was missing the explosion of chocolate you get after eating a good rich chocolate cake.
