I moved here recently and Sweet Escape was one of the first places I tried...and I was NOT disappointed! I'm Vietnamese myself and when I had the fried rice, I was expecting mediocre but bruh, let me tell you there were 8 pieces of shrimp and it tasted like one of my aunties made it. I also had the taro boba as it's one of the basic things I always try to test out a place. It was pretty good and the boba itself was thankfully sugar & tea soaked so it wasn't tasteless. One thing I love is family own business with genuine friendly staff. It's just a while different feel. I came inside searching for ice cream, and I learned they had so much more. I see why they call it sweet escape. I ended up ordering the banana pudding flavor, something I've never tried. It was delicious! Just moved to Humble and I'm excited to find a decent place to get bubble tea! I like the different combination of milk teas you can get. My favorite is the Honeydew Black Tea. The boba isn't chewy or hard, which is good. They also have donuts, kolaches, and breakfast tacos here as well. I like the jalapeño cheese kolaches and the breakfast taco while my boyfriend likes the donuts here! Not too sweet, but just right. There's snack food here, and I recommend the buffalo tender fries and quesadillas. Give this place a try next time you're in the area! read more

Quite unexpected to get this kind of heat from a boba spot but hey, I'm glad we stopped here. The Carne Asada fries were good.. like really good. My husband always orders the good stuff... We are new to the area. It was Sunday morning and I was craving some donuts and a nice cup of coffee. I could have gone to Dunkin, but I remember about this particular spot I see all the time on my way to take my daughter to school and decided to come here instead and support a small business. They have the BEST Bahn Mi sandwiches. Chicken is as good as the beef. Even though the bread is toast it is still soft and the vegetables are fresh. You will have to wait a few minutes to get your sandwich but it is worth the wait! Maybe calling to place your order will be a good idea. read more

Tried the mangonada today since I was craving one so bad!! It was huge and very pretty for $5.50! Tasted just like it was supposed to. I also got the taco slush which was great but too sweet. I forgot to ask them to decrease the sugar. Also got to finally try the kolaches and got $1.99 for a large sausage one, I felt it was worth it! My first time here and it did not disappoint!! First off, I LOVE that they have a drive thru -- the convenience is just unmatched and certainly with the pandemic, it's probably saving this place. Secondly, I love boba milk tea, but am definitely not a connoisseur, so their menu was daunting with all the options. Thankfully, the very friendly employee at the window this morning helped me figure out what to get! I got a milk tea (black tea is the norm for that, so I got black tea, but they have green tea and jasmine tea too) flavored with strawberry and mango (it was definitely pretty sweet, so if you want something more mellow, don't get that) with boba (again, so much variety, but I stuck with the basic regular tapioca boba). Their "regular" size is perfect, unless you're super thirsty, and they put plenty of boba in the drink so you won't run through them before you're done with the liquid. Highly recommend!! Update: I returned for a dinner of a chicken banh mi sandwich and a different milk tea (black tea flavored with honeydew) with popping boba (mango flavor). I liked the honeydew, kind of, but not enough to recommend -- I don't think I'd get that particular flavor again and I'm definitely more of a classic tapioca fan than the popping boba (although they were definitely good!). Further Update: MY ONE COMPLAINT: I come here a lot and I've noticed that whenever a guy is in charge of making my milk tea, it is very watered down and frankly, not very good. And it's weirdly across the board with the guys -- the three guys I've seen there thus far. They need more training please!! read more

For bubble tea in this part of town, I'm giving it a 4/5. It's not bad, and my friend really enjoyed her split cup drink. For reference, I always get the most basic drink (plain milk tea with bubbles) whenever I try a new bubble tea location, and I felt the tea to milk ratio was good. I also noted that the bubbles were pretty well made (not too chewy or soft). Better yet, I asked for a dairy free alternative, so i expected the taste to be compromised but not at all. I also liked the decor, location, and the games you can play (better than sipping boba and scrolling through your phone, eh?). My only complaint is that it is a tad pricey for the serving size, but I think it's not too overpriced that I wouldn't treat myself with it every once in a while :) read more

Went there on a Sunday morning with my kids as a treat. They were sold out of all their pastries. I was like ok... So I tried the Boba milk tea. They didn't have that sealed lids, but instead plastic open lids. Here is a little secret about boba: the sealed keeps it from spilling, and keeps the ice from melting as quickly. By the time I got home, the drink was a messy, completely watered down joke for my wife's order. And it took 15 minutes to get them.
