The bright colors in the windows definitely attract kids. The shop was filled and loud with Spring Breakers (proverbial kids in a candy shop). The clerks were busy filling orders. The iconic shop opened in 1939 and all the candy is homemade. I'm not sure if "homemade" means they make everything in store, but you can watch them make some of the candies when you visit the store. Besides candy, they also sell locally made jams and other gift products. Anyhow, who can resist fresh licorice. Not me. I would have had some chocolate, too, but the lines were too long. If you like taffy, they have a huge assortment of taffy that is made onsite. You can also watch them making taffy, which is pretty neat. I'm more of a chocolate fan, so I go for the chocolate counter. I'm not crazy about the fudge, but the peanut butter cups, chocolate raspberry cremes, and other chocolates are awesome. The workers are friendly and helpful. If you happen to be there while they are making taffy, they will interact with you and explain what they are doing. There is also a gift shop upstairs, but I've never gone up there to look around. Sadly, I just finished the last of my chocolate today. Can't wait to return next year!

Immediately greeted by the owner who explained that he and his wife make everything homemade! I'm in awe at the amount of candies they have and the fact that they are homemade!! The owner was super duper friendly and helped us out with offering some ways around the tourist traffic when going into Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. We got peach rings, rock candy and I HAD to get peanut butter cups! The peanut butter cups were absolutely delicious!! Good thing I got 4 BUT I may have to go back for more before leaving lol. They had the biggest selection of taffy with all kinds of flavors you could bag yourself. All you can get at the other candy stores are preboxed ones with assorted flavors you may or may not like. Was so sad to see it went out of business a few years ago to be replaced by a stupid Chocolate Monkey store which there are already plenty of. It's always sad when favorite stores you've gone to for years like this one close and are gone for good.
