Friendly and inviting atmosphere. Delicious candy! So much to choose from! This was a childhood favorite of mine, so it was nice to take a walk down memory lane and let my husband experience a candy from my childhood.

Located on the main shopping strip in Gatlinburg. We swung by while walking around and saw that they had taffy and malt balls made in house. Prices are reasonable and the saltwater taffy and chocolate malt balls were pretty good and well received. Parking is a bit of a hassle but we parked nearby in a restaurant lot that we ate at to avoid a $20+ parking fee.

Iconic spot on the Parkway that is one of the few original tourist spots still left over the decades. I could watch the taffy man make taffy all day long. I'm not a taffy fan, but when he hands you a freshly wrapped, warm piece of taffy right off the machine it's magical. Friendly service, too.

Went inside Busy inside A lot of selection of chocolates and candies Sold by the pound and also individually packed goods . Go up to the counter. Tell them what you would like to get. Nice place with friendly staff.

Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen, with two locations in Gatlinburg, is the best candy store in the mountains. Going back to the 1950's, the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen has grown up with Gatlinburg. They have the best taffy, wonderful milk chocolate chunks, chocolate covered cherries, truffles, pralines, turtles, caramels, dipped apples, and more. They have a history with the region that makes them family owned and not just some touristy pop-up candy shop. Both locations are on the Parkway through town. Stop in today to satisfy your sweet tooth. Follow me on Yelp for more to do in Knoxville, and East Tennessee.

Four pieces of fudge (regular chocolate and chocolate with walnuts).

I was brought a small box of plain chocolate and chocolate walnut fudge as a gift from this candy shop. I can't speak to how the service was or if the shop is cute, but the fudge is pretty dang good! It's on the softer side, slightly chewy and very deeply chocolatey. It's sweet, as all fudge tends to be, but not as overwhelmingly so as some other pieces of fudge I've had. The only downside is some of the walnuts have that...I dunno, funk? I associate with black walnuts. So that's a tiny bit of a downside. Still, didn't keep me from thoroughly enjoying my gift! Next time I'm Gatlinburg I'd be down to check this candy shop out in person.

I don't miss a chance to stop in here when I'm in the area. I love watching them make candies and treats! The staff are very helpful and friendly! You walk in to an old shop vibe with a glass case loaded with so many treats from fudge to buckeyes to anything chocolate-y and nutty you can imagine. I get a toothache just walking in the door, but I always make an effort to bring the office mates a gift bag of hand pulled taffy and I get a little box of fudge for myself. The peanut butter fudge is the best in town!

This place is a total gem! It has a rich family history that has been instrumental in making what Gatlinburg is now today! The staff is so sweet and wonderful! Some of them have worked there for decades! They make the candy right there where you can see everything being made! You've got to check it out! I'm so glad we stopped by!

Taffy logs in an adorable box and a chocolate covered pecan praline.

This place is so rustic, charming, and nostalgia fox feeling. It's clean and well organized. The workers are soooooo very friendly, engaging and conversational. We got a big box of taffy and some chocolate covered pecan pralines. The packaging is adorable. Everything was delicious. You can buy premade boxes of flavors of taffy or pick your own. They even have moonshine taffy if that's your thing.

Looks like a fun place for sure. I didn't get to go in because I had my dog with me. But I peeked through the windows and it was bright and cute. The machines were making taffy and that was cool.

Loved coming to this place as a kid and it's just as phenomenal as an adult. Service was amazing and the candy is to die for good.

The bright colors in the windows definitely attract kids. The shop was filled and loud with Spring Breakers (proverbial kids in a candy shop). The clerks were busy filling orders. The iconic shop opened in 1939 and all the candy is homemade. I'm not sure if "homemade" means they make everything in store, but you can watch them make some of the candies when you visit the store. Besides candy, they also sell locally made jams and other gift products. Anyhow, who can resist fresh licorice. Not me. I would have had some chocolate, too, but the lines were too long. Love this local candy shop! Parking is a bear! Good luck. We rode in on the trolley so we didn't have to deal with parking.

They have the absolute best butterscotch candy I have ever had. I would order about 10 bags at a time. Then suddenly, they stopped mailing service. I understand like chocolate or ones that may melt, but why not hard candy??? I asked for an exception and was told, it's a nice drive. Wow. New owners probably don't know I was told that. But maybe they do. What a shame!
