Sweet Hut is a long time favorite. I'm glad we were able to stop by on our recent Atlanta trip. I've been at this location a long time ago and it still looks the same! We came late at night so unfortunately, I wasn't able to get some egg tarts but at least I got my crème brûlée milk tea with boba! It was so delicious. I want some now! Love this place. It is so big and so easy to shop at. I had the matcha bun from the one in Midtown and it tasted just right. So I traveled 30 minutes out this morning to come to this place. The one in Duluth. Its double the size of the one in midtown and they had everything I was looking for. Plus the customer service was great. Today I got the matcha, mango and custard buns, a curry chicken bun,ham and cheese and mango pudding one. All of this costed just around $14. Well the custard and matcha buns were great tasting. They were sweet but not too sweet and the filling was just right the first time I had it. Haven't tried the other 3 yet but I'll update you on what I think of those once I get back home. UPDATE: Just finished 2 more of the forementioned. I found the ham and cheese one just ok. I found the the filling of ham and cheese lack luster and the bun to be way too buttery for my taste. However, the chicken curry bun id a must try. It tasted exactly like a spicy indian chicken sandwich when I heated it up for 20 seconds in the microwave. read more

A pretty solid Asian bakery place! I loved my crème brûlée milk tea-- it had that caramelized brown sugar flavor and the boba had the perfect amount of chewiness. The store stopped selling the smaller size for boba drinks so they only sell the big size which was $5.50 when I went. The drink was a good pairing with the pork sung polo which had more of a savory flavor, I personally love the savory breads from this place. I normally don't give reviews for boba tea places as I think they are all the same. But today is a new low for sweet hut. I stopped by for an early coffee since I wanted some pastries. Didn't want to go else where for coffee so I ordered a large vietnamese iced coffee less ice and 50% sweet. The cup came out at like 70% filled and all I can taste was the condense milk and no coffee. I was going to say something but decided to leave a review instead. 2 stars for really good pastries. Drink-wise I wouldn't recommend. And it cost a whopply $4.75 for iced coffee where as elsewhere it's only $3.75. I also remember my last boba tea here was really sweet at 50% sugar. I know it's sweet hut but it needs balance can't just give out free sugar when I didn't ask for it. read more

Why haven't I come here sooner?! This place is heavenly. For my first visit, I kept it simple. It is a bit overwhelming w/ all of the choices but in a good way. I ordered a custard bun, which was soft and subtly sweet w/ some buttery notes. I liked it. Then, were the salt and pepper chicken nuggets (mild): my tastebuds had to adjust to the heat. Pretty spicy for the lowest heat level but it could just be me. I ended up taking a break from it and coming back to it a few hours later. It wasn't spicy at all, which was odd. lol I accompanied those w/ some fries. Needed more salt but they were still delicious w/ ketchup. Also, not overly crispy. This is the third Sweet Hut location I've visited recently and had another pretty awesome experience! It was super busy on this past 4th of July holiday weekend, which was to be expected. I found parking with no trouble though thankfully. I had pre-ordered on GrubHub and was trying to get my bearings, when I realized there's a separate section to the right of the ordering/display counter inside specifically for mobile orders. There was a line on that side too, and the only thing that was a little off-putting was that it was not very organized. My order was ready when the app said it would be, but they were so busy and trying to keep up with new orders that nobody really checked or called out orders that were already made and sitting there. Definitely be assertive and speak up if you have a notification saying your food is ready, because they might not check or address you if you're waiting in the line. I had to wait about an hour or so to actually eat my food and drink my tea as I had to get my hubby from work right after pick up, but everything was still delicious and at a good temperature when I got home. I got the 25% sweet taro bubble tea (with less pearls) and my favorite Bulgogi Cheesesteak with added pickled carrots and sweet potato fries. I think this will become my new favorite location aside from Midtown, since parking is free and plentiful and they have the Bulgogi Cheesesteak here. The cafe inside looks like a fun place to hang out or meet up with friends for a treat - definitely not a quiet cafe you would come to read a book in but good for socializing if you're fine with the crowdedness and noise. I overall enjoyed everything and hope to be back soon. I think Marietta is the only location nearby I haven't tried yet, so we'll see how that goes. I came here to meet up with my grade school classmate and I instantly love this place. The place is unique, clean with a lot of tables and chairs. It was not as good as it looked or smelled. Maybe I picked the wrong baked goods, but the taro swirl, vanilla soufflé and matcha bun were dry. They looked pretty though. Sweet Hut is my absolute favorite spot in Atlanta, so of course I had to stop by before leaving the area! I usually go to the Midtown location but decided to go to the Duluth location because they're finally open for dine-in. I love the decor and ambience at Sweet Hut. The large dining space and comfy seating makes it the perfect place to study. The drinks and food at Sweet Hut are also absolutely amazing. My go-to drink is the Thai Iced Tea with honey boba. Their drinks run a little sweet so I'm glad they have the option to customize the sweetness; half sugar is perfect for me. I've tried so many of their food items over the years, and my favorite is definitely the Salt & Pepper Chicken Nuggets. These are so flavorful and crispy! I'd also recommend the Sweet Hut Burger and Plain Fries. The bakery area at Sweet Hut is also filled with so many delicious options! My favorites are the Portuguese Egg Tart, Coconut Butterfly, BBQ Pork Bun, and Spring Onion Hot Dog. Today I decided to get the Violet, which is a soft bun filled with mochi and taro paste. Lots of parking and walking distance from Great Wall supermarket. We come here quite often to get bread. Our favorite ones to get are taro mochi bread, caterpillar, and the Hong Kong bread (?). But today we tried the sandwiches for the first time. I was thoroughly surprised! Bulgogi cheesesteak with French fries: taste pretty good! The fries unfortunately wasn't crispy anymore, but it could be because it took us about 25 mins to get home. Spicy bulgogi sandwich: very tender chicken, a little on the cheesy side, not super spicy at all. We ordered it with the cucumber salad which we al LOVED! Next time would order the salad again and chill it a bit in the fridge before eating. Samosas: these tasted sooooo good! It had a hint of spiciness to it. The sauce that it came with was good and pairs well with the French fries. Just wish the size was bigger haha Sweet potato fries: also not crispy (could be the delay in eating it). But taste wise it was good! Salt and pepper nuggets (medium spicy level): this was too crispy, not a lot of actual chicken. The spicy level was good though. To Go ONLY. No dine in option currently. This place has always been a reliable, staple, and satisfyingly sweet but not too sweet treat. The bakery has a modular directional flow. You enter in and head to the left. You can pick up your clean tray, line it with parchment paper, and grab yourself a glove(s) to get ready to pick your treat. Some refrigerated treats at the end and more in the wrap around front counter. All items are individually wrapped as well. We tend to pick a few tasty treats to share. There's a couple staples that are always great but we try to get the seasonal limited time items if possible. Each item has a brief description so don't fret if you have no idea what you're looking at (most the time I'm picking with my eyes anyway). At the counter we order at least 1 if not 2 teas to share. This hot day we decided to share a Cold Lychee Green Tea with Aloe. Incredibly refreshing drink. I really appreciate how you can modulate the sweetness from 0 to 100% by request. I prefer this location than the one down in Midtown, and it's comparable to the awesome Doraville one. Still, they need to be better with the customer service and less on the defensive. But it was done in good spirits and wasn't insulting or anything, so I won't downgrade them for that. (confusing I know) I know the Atlanta area and it's surrounding suburbs have a lot of Asian style restaurants and markets and thought I would try to find one closest in style to 85° (L.A.). They have started selling stale food. Over the years, they have added more options in their menu, but quality has faded. I always get the Midnight Lady slice of cake when I'm there. The first time I tried this cake was in 2018, and I thought it was the best cake they sold. Yesterday, I ordered a slice and the cake was so dry that my fork got stuck in it. I took a small bite-sized portion and the cake was very stale. So, I went back to the counter and informed the lady there. She looked pissed. She went inside, came back out, got me another piece from display. Her hands (without gloves) touched the slice she got for me. She was staring at me angrily as she packed the box. Then, rolled her eyes, slided the box towards me and just said "next in the line." I am completely shocked by such service. read more

Ok, here's the new recent update about Sweet Hut in COVID-19 Situation. Food: 5stars, baked goods: 5 starts, drinks: 5 starts!! Of course their bread, donuts, sandwiches and drinks, everything still rock! There are things they improved to be safer due to COVID-19 situation. (1) They removed all the plastic casing, so people don't have to touch the knobs of the case to get to breads. Instead, all breads and donuts are individually wrapped already. (2) And they removed the tongs to pick up bread. Instead, they offer gloves, so people wear gloves (or just one glove) to pick up bread directly. This change is made to prevent some people who might put back the touched tongs. (3) They already have non-contact credit card machine. You insert the card, so you are the only person who touch your card. (4) Also, they removed all the tables in the middle section of the shop, so people wouldn't sit there or touch the tables. For all the improvement, er can feel safe and still enjoy their awesome yummy treats! I can't go back there to get more of my fav stuff!! read more

I been to this location several times. It's a lot nicer , bigger, and cleaner than the Doraville location. This location can get super busy on weekends. So be warned. There is a lot more variety in their dessert and meat breads. There also seems to be more on the variety of drinks available here. I love their hot dog buns and bbq pork buns. My fav drink here is Lychee Black Tea with grass jelly and aloe Vera toppings. This place seems to give you more toppings than Kung Fu tea. I can't stay out of Sweet Hut. The egg custard tarts are the closest thing I've had that approaches my grandma's egg custard pie. So, I have to go to have those. Also, that green onion roll (bread, pastry whatever), the ham and cheese bread, the bacon and cheese bread, and the curry chicken pastry all get me in there against my will. Freakin delicious. Then I discovered the chicken nuggets. They are so good with that fried basil and medium spice. I won't stop going in there for those. And, I be wanting that lemon grass pork sandwich. I can't have the cakes often, but they are decadent and delicious. I love a fresh fruit slushie any day. This place be busy, you hear me? I avoid weekends all together. I understand the pull, though. Nice and comfortable for studying or chilling with friends, a date, alone time, people watching. Every time I go, I see some very interesting things. Even though the parking lot is big, he ain't big enough to handle all the beings who need to get in Sweet Hut. Be patient. Someone will be coming out in a minute. Crowds of people fill the venue daily and nightly at this Sweet Hut location. On any given day, there will be all sorts of people here enjoying bubble tea and great conversation until closing time, and many times people still hang out outside for a little while afterwards planning their next destination. Sweet Hut, originally started in Doraville and now has about 6 locations, has awesome buns, pastries, now doughnuts, taiwanese snack foods, boba tea drinks, coffee, ice cream, cakes, and other foods. My favorite things to drink here are Thai Tea iced, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I usually get all my drinks with either little or half sugar. It is difficult to choose a favorite bun that they have and it's even more difficult to choose whether I like their sweet buns or savory buns more. Both are great! Their prices vary, but they're not too expensive. Only thing is, the number of buns add up. As you peruse the selection and choose a couple of different buns and order drinks as well, your total can end up being more than you expected. It's still affordable though and fun! This location is one of my favorites due to the fact that it is spacious. They have more seating than the other locations. It's also in a great location because there are many other things to do and places you can go off Pleasant Hill. Despite the competition, Sweet Hut remains one of the top places to get boba tea off Pleasant Hill. read more

I finally got to try out this place. It's so much to choose from, it's impossible to really rate without going back a few times. They have at least 50 different types of pastries including donuts, foldovers, breads, you name it. I got a sugar donut, Egyptian butter bread and some type of cheese pastry with hot dogs cut up inside. It sounds gross, but it was good. The service was quick and organized. they have all different types of beverages from bubble tea to milk tea to coffees and mochas. I ordered a white chocolate mocha and it was better than Starbucks. If you have been to Duluth and never been to Sweet Hut, then you are missing out on one of the many amazingly well-run local businesses that has thrived over the years in the Atlanta area. The different locations of Sweet Hut are popular because of the selection of breads, baked goods, and drinks as well as the comfortable atmosphere that is open late. Sweet Hut is a great place to meet friends and an excellent alternative to going to a bar or night club on the weekend. Which makes it a safe and fun place to meet up with friends and make new friends as well. No joke, they are open until midnight most nights and until 1:00 AM on the weekends. Be prepared for a packed parking lot and hard to find seating late at night. Also, they are one of the local bakeries that is open the earliest, around 8:00 AM everyday with almost 85% inventory stocked. Most of the bakeries open around 9:00 AM and then you have to wait another hour for them to actually have product to serve. How are their baked goods, cakes, and teas? Well, they are alright, nothing phenomenal. Being in an area that has so many delicious bakeries to choose from, one has the right to be picky. I was very pleased to see that this location has a larger selection of cakes as well as a consultation desk for designing and reserving custom wedding cakes. There is also a steamed dim sum station, but it has not been open when I typically visit in the morning. After visiting the original Sweet Hut on Buford Highway for many years, this more convenient location is definitely larger and most accommodating for snacking and working online. read more
