I ordered a butterscotch caramel latte that was flavored with half of the sweetness. It was so tasty. I opted not to order any sweet cookies that day. I found Sweet LaLa on Google because my boo and I were having a cookie attack and wanted bakery fresh cookies. When I got there they were almost out of the day's fresh cookies. I got oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, Oreo, and their signature almond cookie. Delicious!!!!! The customer service is top tier! They were so friendly and sweet. I wanted to get a coffee beverage, but they were out of the flavor I wanted, so I was comped another even though I tried to pay for it. This place is straight vibes. This bakery is so cute and surprisingly spacious. It's located in the same shopping center with Ruth's Chris, and sits amongst many other tucked away shops. It is clean and they have a wide array of cookies and baked goods, and there is also an upstairs area. They have a nice selection of beverages, food, and sweets to accommodate any dietary preference. They sell sauces and other goods produced locally. There is also a large area for dining in. The employees are friendly and you are free to browse as you like. I decided on 2 cinnamon rolls and a sausage and cheese pinwheel to take home. They were really good, especially when warmed up. I like the selection of cookies and products to choose from, and they had the cutest Easter cookies. Pricing depends on what you want of course; however, upon browsing, I didn't really see any visible price tags on the tables, but I figure since the bakery is the main thing, everything else is an add on to it. They do have a menu with how much some things cost right in front of the register. Overall, I recommend this bakery. A coworker picked up Valentines day cookies from here. Really cute decorated sugar cookies. All of the frosting can be a bit sweet but the cookie balances that out really well. I don't leave many negative reviews...but I kinda feel like theft is important. I was preoccupied at check out and the cashier processed my card and added a tip (over $5 which was over 25%) without my knowledge. She didn't give me my receipt, and was surprised when I asked for one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a fast food like environment. You stand at the counter and then wait for your food items and seat yourself and clear your own trash etc. it is not a place that offers service by all means.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I got my receipt, I couldn't believe what I saw. A tip was added without my consent. I was very upset but am not the type to make a fuss. But I felt compelled to make it known. This just wasn't right. The cashier said she would have to get to the manager, which was fine by me. Maybe the manager wasn't aware that the cashier was stealing tips. The manager brought me the five dollars and change from the tip. There was no apology or anything like that. Just to "Here you go." I would strongly suggest anyone coming to this bakery to check their receipt. I am all for large tips for great service, but no service is even provided here. Also, to review the food: my cookies were stale and not very impressive. The coffee was wonderful. The cinnamon rolls were stale around the outside, but really tasty where it was fresh in the middle. read more

I came in for coffee this morning at 805 once they opened and had been in line and I was next one to order after the lady had taken two orders before me. The lady at register looks at me and says it's going to be 25 minutes before I can get to you (I was next one) she then proceeded to tell the others in the store it would be 25 min before getting to anyone else. The specialty coffee drinks are a good mix. I had a iced coffee and a cookie. Both were very tasty. The store offers products that were produced by local citizens. Overall, the positive experience for a small local coffee shop. Looking at the design, it looks like the owner is a caterer and makes several different types of baked goods. I was looking for coffee. Placed an online order for my son's 20th birthday, needed a cake that didn't taste like chalk...tired of the grocery store and big box store cakes that disappoint, and heard great things about Sweet LaLa's so I thought I'd give them a try. Brand new shop. Stopped in to check it out. I got a L cup of dark roast and a cinnamon roll. The coffee was good although I had to request the server fill my cup more. The cinnamon roll was average. It actually should have been left in the oven a bit longer. The middle part was still doughy and undone. I thought it was a tad expensive for what I got. A L coffee and cinnamon roll was almost $7. The doughnut shop close to me has amazing coffee and a fantastic cinnamon roll - $2 each. On a positive note, they have a great vibe. Nice and quaint spot for a quick meeting or to do a little work. I can't get enough of Sweet Lala's Bakery! Seriously, they complete all of my food needs: breakfast, caffeine, lunch, and most importantly...SWEETS! I started coming here because of the sweets. Arguably the best sugar cookies in Memphis! But they have so much more to offer. Large bakery with a few tables where you can come and eat lunch or have coffee with others. Not too many outlets, so I have found it a little hard to work there, but it can be done (especially if you want to smell delicious treats while you try to be productive). My recommendations: Sweets - any sugar cookie (I love the plain icing with sprinkles), the triple chocolate cookie (OMG), or humble/apple personal pies Lunch - Chicken Salad Croissant (comes with a choice of apple, chips, or cookie - you obviously choose the cookie every time!!) They also offer a variety of baking classes for all ages in their upstairs space. They also will do customer large orders for companies, weddings, etc. I had someone even ship me their cookies to another state - beautiful presentation in their packing and they still tasted amazing even after shipping!
