In the Case

Memphis, TN. Just on the visuals alone I would recommend coming in here. The beautiful display is quite a show on its own merits. There was one lady working here the night I stopped by and the line was long and slow. She announced that if we were in a hurry, to "Go somewhere else!" She did OK trying to keep the line going but then, of course, someone ordered a latte that brought everything to a halt for five minutes. Eventually help arrived and we got to buy our tiramisu in a chocolate cup. We took it back to our room to eat it. As far as the tiramisu goes, it was quite lovely, it compared to others in the top notch category quite well, even though it was lacking in standout uniqueness. The chocolate cup was mostly decorative. It tasted ok but wasn't high grade chocolate. It was probably the chocolate they must use to create these designs, such as the cups.

The desserts here are decorated very nice and detailed. And of course, being The Peabody...some in the ol' duck theme. The taste of flavor of the duck (filled with mousse)....was a winner combination. The white chocolate flavor and texture, worked great with the mousse. The bourbon pecans mini pie: pretty lousy and got nothing out of it. Still give the place 5 stars...as the other desserts look great and have many options to choose from.

Taste of blues with cafe latte! great combination, with live music in the lobby of the hotel. Can't be better than this! Very friendly staff at the coffee shop and throughout the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel and its resources for stay in Memphis.

A bit dense but very good triple chocolate cake.

Heavy, dense desserts, most likely not made here, with a cup of strong average coffee -You're in the Peabody Deli. I'm here for the atmosphere and the nostalgia. My mom loved coming here for afternoon coffee and dessert and despite the prices, so do I. Good place to cool off from the hot July Memphis heat.

Chocolate dome

Phenomenal desserts! The key-lime pie and chocolate dome balanced perfectly - I loved the key lime most!

Took our desserts back to our hotel (we didn't stay at the Peabody). Desserts were amazing !

Went a couple times, once for coffees before the ducks and again after dinner for a fun dessert. If you're visiting but couldn't stay at the Peabody for whatever reason it's a fun place to go and be a little fancy. The coffee was tasty and we were able to grab a table out in the main lobby to get a good view of the ducks after. Quack!

I had the pineapple matcha and the mud pie. It was a little pricey but good! The matcha could have used more matcha and a less pineapple juice. It's a nice place to sit and relax away from the busy hotel lobby.

There was water as well!

First off I love this place cause you can get free coffee in the morning! FREE coffee. Because the rooms here are small and there really is no place for a coffee maker there. But you can ride the elevator down in your pjs if you don't care about anyone see you in your pjs. Coffee cuts off promptly at 9, but not to worry, just go to the lobby bar and order one of their specialty coffees with adult beverages in them. There's also a case full of beautiful desserts in individual sizes. I had a key lime pie. I was a little disappointed in the taste, but it wasn't spitting out awful and not that expensive either. My son got a duck filled with chocolate mousse. He ate it and bed and said the next morning it looked like the duck pooped in his bed cause it was messy. But good. Chocolate is always good isn't it? The desserts are drop dead beautiful. Was do have one if you get the chance. Otherwise, just drink their "free" coffee ($12 resort fee daily covers this so it isn't really free) Drink lots of coffee to earn that fee.

Both desserts were really good but it was very expensive, $30 for two desserts and a bottle of water. Went here on Valentine's Day with Lauren

The combination of freshly baked bread, smoked turkey, pickled avocado, and crispy bacon creates an incredible flavor in every bite. The atmosphere is just as enjoyable as the food. With its laid-back vibe and cozy seating, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. Today, I paired my sandwich with Jalapeño Ranch Sea Salt chips, and to top it all off, I grabbed a Jarritos Pineapple soda--the perfect drink to complement an already amazing lunch. If you're looking for a delicious sandwich and a welcoming place to unwind, Hardtimes Deli is definitely worth a visit.

The only downside is the price, as spending ~$20 on a sandwich is never fun, but it seems like that's just about everywhere these days. However, if you're not that hungry, these sandwiches can be stretched to 2 meals to keep the cost down. A few of my favorites are the Turkey Bacon Ranch and the SSS Chopped Cheese. THEY ALSO HAVE CANNED GATORADE. IYKYK Being able to pop over to Slowdown Dry Goods next door while you wait for your food is a big plus. They always have some cool stuff to check out while you wait.

A Great Bagel Shop With Pastries Worth the Detour!…read more We stopped by this bagel shop after a nearby coffee shop told us, "You have to try their pastries," and honestly, that recommendation was spot‑on. Even though the place is known for its bagels, the pastries ended up stealing the show. Everything we tried was fresh, flaky, and full of flavor -- the kind of treats that make you instantly glad you listened to a local tip. Once we saw the pastry case, my kids and I didn't even pretend to show restraint. We grabbed almost all of them so we could enjoy a full tasting session on our road trip home, and it turned out to be the best decision! Each pastry had its own personality -- some buttery, some fruity, some rich -- and not a single one disappointed. It made the drive feel like a little dessert adventure. It was truly hard to choose a favorite. The shop itself had a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and the staff was friendly and quick to help. Even though we didn't focus on the bagels this time, the overall experience made it clear why people love stopping here. If you're in the area -- or even passing through -- definitely check out their pastries. Pair it with a coffee from the shop nearby, load up a box for the road, and you've got yourself a perfect travel treat lineup!

I looked at the menu before I came but I got a little indecisive once how I was how delicious it looked in the case. I still went with the bagel and lox but the croissant was calling me and they wouldn't let me sub the bagel. I asked for capers and the cashier went to the back to ask. We I got my order no capers, the energy was a little off from the staff so I decided not to send it back. I was still good and a big portion of salmon for the price. I'd stop in again if in the area and try something else.

The deli is definitely one of the highlights, with sandwiches made fresh to order right in front of you. I always go for the club sandwich, and it's easily one of the best around. If you stop by during the second shift, make sure to see Omari. His sandwiches are amazing, and his customer service is just as great! The store is clean, well-organized, and has that warm, neighborhood feel that makes shopping there enjoyable. I also love that they have a dog bowl and water station outside on the patio for people who bring their pups. On weekends, they even have live bands that set up .
