Yes child, this is a hit! BBQ is one of my most favorite cuisines and I couldn't contain my excitement when I learned of their impending visit at my business complex. It appeared that BBQ is a favorite amongst many people as well as the line grew ever so long shortly after my group and I placed our orders. I ended up ordering the pulled pork burrito. It was an enormous burrito that could easily rival Chipotle's and had the delicious fillings of smoky pulled pork, sweet BBQ sauce, BBQ baked beans, rice, and coleslaw. A co-worker ordered the same burrito and neither one of us could finish it all in one sitting. I was able to see my other co-workers orders and they were also substantial in size. You don't need to worry if you will be hungry after eating because you won't! The customer service was great and our orders came out in a reasonable time. My only critique was that I did not like most of the sides they offered. Not their fault by any means but I would've loved to have seen some fries or corn. I would've most likely ordered one of them to have as a snack or part of a later meal. I hope they come back to my work soon! read more

A few food trucks came to my work today and I choose Sweet Magnolia because of that amazing fresh smoked BBQ scent that filled the parking lot. The staff was amazing too! The guy helped suggest some good items and even hooked me up with the BBQ sauce since I told him I liked my sandwich extra saucy! I got a brisket sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. And per my request, extra saucy with BBQ. The brisket was incredible! So tender and flavorful. The bbq was great too, just the right amount of sweet and Smokey. Next time I won't get the extra sauce, it was so messy and hard to pick up but that was my fault since I just had to get that extra saucy. But you bet I still ate that messy sandwich that covered my cheeks with BBQ sauce. Lots of napkins to make me a lady again. Lol I can't wait to try this truck again and explore their other options. This was the worst food I've ever eaten. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich (mush with the sauce) and Mac and cheese and my fiancé ordered the brisket sandwich & potato salad I immediately had to change buns because it was like bbq sauce was just dumped in the container. Took two bites and trashed it, so mushy & horrible flavor. My fiancé's brisket had the same bbq sauce issue & his potatoe salad was just pretty much mustard soup. It was not edible at all. At the Food Truck event in Pioneer Community Park again tonight, if you've read my reviews, we go every Friday night. I had checked out which trucks would be coming, and was looking forward to some good meaty BBQ...and I wasn't disappointed. I got a quarter pound of brisket and a quarter pound of pulled pork, and they were both deliciously tender. Their BBQ sauce is quite sweet, which I like, but I ended up dipping it instead of smothering it. I enjoy the flavor of meat, so I don't like to overpower it with a lot of sauce. This was the perfect combination for me. My only complaint, I wish they had a dish with a combo of 2 or more meats. The way I ordered gave me a lot of meat, and it would be nice to have gotten a combo platter instead...just an idea. But, if I see this truck again, I will definitely be heading over to it...very, very good!! read more

Been there a week ago, had ordered food to be picked up at 6pm, had to wait over 30 min for it to be ready. I understand times can be busy but then don't have that slot open for pick up or at least give us a notification. Tried these guys at the Caravan in Scottsdale and they delivered some decent BBQ, but not enough brisket was present in the dish I ordered. I wanted the brisket burrito, but out of tortillas, so that turned into a burrito Bowl with lots of white rice, baked beans, chopped brisket and solid chopped coleslaw on top of everything. They did not include any BBQ sauce, but luckily I went up and got some warm sauce which was a perfect smoky flavor. The brisket was excellent too, but I just wish they would have dumped some more on there for 8 bucks. I gather that if I had ordered the sandwich, I would have gotten more meat, but next time. The sweet potatoes and greens had so much water and lacked flavor that it felt like warmed up canned products. The Pulled pork and hotlink was done very well! Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse You know I love food and smoked and/or BBQ is one of my favorites. I came across a food truck today and wanted to share my experience with you. Walking up I was greeted by "B". I like this approach much better than trying to look up at a window and the person barely hearing me. I let "B" know right off the bat that I would be writing up a review and handed him my card. I also let them choose what type of sandwich and side I would be trying today since they all looked good. The truck was clean and signage is great. On the menu for lunch was a pulled pork sandwich on what was somewhat of a potato roll. Nice choice for the bread! The two sides were their macaroni and cheese and Cole Slaw. I'll talk about those in a minute. Pork Sandwich Taking my first bite surprised me. The pork was tender but the surprise was the sweet sauce. I can tell you it is a great reminder that the owner/chef is from the Magnolia state and the sweet BBQ they have in Mississippi. It was a great sandwich with the meat piled on thick. Cole Slaw The slaw had a peppery bite to it. Although it is a good compliment to the sweet sauce used on the pork, it is not my preferred type of Cole Slaw. But good none the less. Mac and cheese A very traditional southern flavor to the mac and cheese. I could eat a whole plate of just this. It was delicious. Peach Cobbler And for dessert I sampled the peach cobbler. With its awesome flavor I was hoping to find some homemade vanilla ice cream around. The only drawback I found is that I got a lot of dough compared to the peaches. A drawback yes but definitely not a deal breaker. I loved the flavor and the dough consistency was perfect. So to ask if I'd eat Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse food again? Sweet Magnolia has been catering our Directors' meetings for almost two years, and they never disappoint. I cannot laud their service enough. The BBQ? Well, here is some data which may give you an indication of our happiness: 1.) Our Corporate HQ folks schedule their visits to coincide with the meetings where Sweet Magnolia will be served. And they live on the other side of the U.S. 2.) Folks who have just joined the organization know them by their reputation in our Company and look forward to the first meeting where they will experience Sweet Magnolia's deliciousness. 3.) Their cole slaw is famous throughout the organization as the "best there's ever been." 4.) Their cornbread muffins have been labelled as "addictive as crack" and have a tendency to 100% disappear within the first 10 minutes of our meetings. 5.) Ribs are fall-off-the bone tender, and chicken melts in your mouth. Such that folks will routinely select a portion to eat at the meeting and then "sneak" a little extra into their lunch bags to take home to their significant others. You really, REALLY need to give them a try. After enjoying their meats, I can't really eat BBQ anywhere else in the Valley. Our employer recently decided to have a rotating selection of food trucks come every Friday, which is a decision I heartily support. Today was Sweet Magnolia, and I had to try their special: Sunny Side Up - brisket on a bun, with a fried egg on top + a side of coleslaw and mac & cheese ($10). Decent amount of food and the flavor was good for everything, although the brisket did seem a little over-cooked. The sauce was good, their homemade coleslaw was just right (I hate it when it's too sweet) and the mac & cheese was decent. Seems to be a newer, smaller operation than some, but the service was great and the seemed to have a nice selection of choices. I was underwhelmed with the Beef Ribs having little meat on them and the mustardy potato salad from here, the pork ribs weren't bad in taste but again little meat on pork ribs. I was looking forward to trying Sweet Magnolias all week, and sadly I ended up a little disappointed. They arrived at 10:30 AM and we were first in line, so I was expecting fresh delicious BBQ! The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and helpful. He took our order right away, but it took almost 25 minutes to get our food. One of my coworkers ordered a pork sandwich and said it was pretty good. I got some brisket and the mac & cheese. Unfortunately the brisket was pretty dry and chewy, and some of the charred pieces tasted burned. The sauce was very tasty and helped the brisket. My other coworker ordered a brisket slider and her experience was the same as mine. We all agreed that the mac & cheese was delicious.
