If you're looking for perfectly fried comfort food, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I ordered the Chicken & Fried Shrimp Basket with the standard fries. I could have chosen coleslaw instead, and in hindsight I probably should have since I'm not much of a fry person. But the real star here is the fried food. Both the chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly--crispy, golden, and packed with crunch in every bite without being greasy. I'm also a huge sauce fan, so I had to sample a few. I tried the ranch, garlic Parmesan, and Nad's Sauce. The clear winner for me was the garlic Parmesan. It was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with both the chicken and the shrimp. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was incredibly friendly, took the time to walk us through the menu, and checked on us several times throughout our meal. Since you order at the counter and then find a seat, that extra attention really stood out and made us feel welcome. I was so excited to try out this place after my brother had told me how much he loved it. We came in during lunch , my partner got a lunch special where there was wings and shrimp and I got a two fish and shrimp combo. The lady that helped me out let me know that since I was torn between the Swai and catfish I could do one of each. She was so helpful and sweet, loved her energy! Both of my fish were cooked perfectly and I like the nice crunch to them when I first bit in, both fish were extremely juicy. I do wish that she told me the catfish was going to have a stronger fish taste to it though , I guess they told my brother that when he came in last. I typically don't mind the fishier catfish taste, as I grew up eating catfish, but I will say theirs is a bit stronger than I typically like. Swai was bomb though. I do enjoy the fact that they season the fish after it being fried as well, I think that's a great touch. The shrimp that came with my combo was well battered and seasoned but I personally expected a larger size shrimp, and they were smaller. No worries though. Stopped at Nad's for an early dinner around 5:00 on a Monday. There were a few other customers but it wasn't too busy. I ordered the tilapia and wings which came with the choice of fries or slaw. We also added fried okra and Mac n cheese. For the wings we selected the breaded option with Cajun hot dry seasoning. The seasoning was flavorful but not too hot. The fish was cooked perfectly. The Mac n cheese had a unique Cajun seasoning added to which made it different than the traditional Mac n cheese. The okra was really good as well. I also got a banana cream cake that was soft and moist with a great flavor. I do wish they offered the option à la carte fish or chicken, but that wasn't an option. The food portions are huge. They give you big pieces of catfish. The fries seemed more like just skins and not potato wedges. Everything is OVERLY seasoned which can be great, but not when the powder of seasonings is flying all over when you pick up your food. Carrot cake was hella dry. My daughter originally tried Nad's Chicken & Seafood and was so excited for us to go together. A group of five of us went this past Sunday evening, and the first thing I noticed was how spotless everything was even behind the counter! Tina brought all the vibes, she was so welcoming with a huge smile. I immediately liked the place. Each person in our group ordered something different. I shared the shrimp and swai fish meal with my daughter because the portions are huge. The batter was crispy, reminding me of how my southern grandma used to fry hers. I have no clue how they get it so crispy without any grease! It was so tender, and the flavors were definitely there. We also enjoyed the fries and the coleslaw and both were delicious! I really like the seasonings they use. The best part was that after finishing, we didn't feel that "heaviness" you sometimes get from fried food, because you know we were talking about that too. Came in and was greeted instantly and warmly. Since it was my first time they offered to walk me through the menu which I was glad to listen to. I ordered their tilapia and wing platter (2 tilapia filets and 5 wings along with fries), and my gf ordered the catfish (swai). Food came out pretty quick even though there were a few orders in front of ours. The fried tilapia is very good. It is fried very clean (eating it didn't make me feel disgusting, and it had a good color and taste) They put their lemon pepper seasoning on that and the fries as well. Which brings me to their fries. They're more like a thin wedge than a traditional shoe string or steak fry? I enjoyed them, but since they have the same seasoning it's similar to the tilapia batter. However, the wings were phenomenal. When I go to wing stop I always like to get lemon pepper hot. I did the same thing here and got their Buffalo hot, and they seasoned the top with the lemon pepper. The wings are a very good size. Not skimpy, anorexic chicken wings. I got naked but will try breaded next time to see how much better it is with a crispy outside. However, I would highly recommend their Cajun hot over their Buffalo hot. After getting the food, we were checked up on multiple times asking if the food was good (the cashier also turned out to be the owner), and if we needed any more sauces etc.. great service and the food was good. This business is relatively new only being open less than 2 months and local. So love to support the local business and showcase something unique in the area! I will say sitting down another review mentioned it is kind of hot in there, and I'd agree. They have some oscillating fans, but it'd be ideal to have AC (I think they're working on it). Also personally, I'd love some more non fried side options and maybe some more homemade things. Their tartar sauce is from a packet which isn't as good as the real deal. The house sauce is creamy and elevates the flavor without the use of salt. The Cajun Hot sauce surprised me with its heat and flavor WITHOUT the need for copious amounts of vinegar like other places use as an excuse for spice. Combine all of these together and you have a meal that you need to take a minute to process with each bite. Just wow. I never have fried chicken, ever, beacuse of my experiences at other places.
