So I was in for business for two days the minute I took the shuttle to the hotel me and the driver start talking about food and he tells me about this barbecue secret spot. It was a two minute drive down from my hotel. I had two meat platter with two sides house made smoked sausage and pulled pork with coleslaw and polenta. Beyond delicious service was amazing. I couldn't believe the flavor in this barbecue. You have to try this place.

I came here for lunch on a work day just to have some barbeque, and was in the mood to try a little bit of everything, and it turned out great. Pretty much every type of meat that they had was a hit. Some of the meat was a bit salty, but it wasn't salty enough to affect my culinary experience. Overall I thought it was very delicious. Naturally, the sliced brisket was very juicy and tasty, and the chopped brisket provided good textural consistency along with the flavor. I also thought that the turkey breast was a good item to neutralize the strong taste that came from some of the meat, such as the pork belly burnt ends, which were both sweet and salty. The sausage pieces were also great in providing a layer of flavor distinct from the other kinds of meat. The pork spare ribs were generous in size, although I thought the sauce could be a bit less sweet. Overall, very solid barbeque meat and I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone that visits the Phoenix area.

Stumbled across this gem while visiting Scottsdale for Spring Training. I saw the reviews coming out the airport and was stunned at the reviews. We got our rental car and drove right over. Because we were hungry we decided not to wait in the line but reschedule to go back on Friday. I looked more at the reviews and Tik Tok's and saw this place was legit and the beef rib was to die for. Comes Friday, we get there at 10:15 am right before the line built up. We spoke with one of the employees for while regarding what to order and about Spring Training while we were in line. As we got in, you order at the counter and pick what you want. The employees are cutting up the food in front of you and weighing it. The inside area has limited seating and it's very narrow. Outside theres a good amount of seating but filled up right away. I ordered the beef rib for my dad and I to share, a plate for myself with brisket and turkey. I got cole slaw and mac sald on the side, both were kind've whatever for me. The turkey honestly is a sleeper pick, it was delicious and more flavorful that I thought. Brisket was mouthwatering and so tender but that beef rib lived to the hype. It fell off the bone and had the perfect fattiness to tender ratio. We enjoyed the outside and feasted but it's quite expensive like all BBQ. The quality was fresh and I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. I don't eat BBQ a lot so I don't have a huge sample size for whats good or not but I loved it!

all of the sides are good. I really like the jalapeño grits.

I am from Kansas City and consider myself a bit of a barbecue expert. Don't get me wrong. I like all types of barbecue: Carolina, Texas, Nashville, and, of course, Kansas City. Just makes you look at the barbecue from all across the country in a little different light Last time, my son took me to a barbecue joint in Phoenix. It was definitely a fail. I was accused of being a Kansas City barbecue snob and the only reason that I said it wasn't good. It's because it wasn't from Kansas City. Not true. The barbecue was just bad. Let's face it. There are a lot of bad barbecue joints. So when my son said, Meet me for lunch at Little Miss BBQ University I was a little bit apprehensive. But I'm in Phoenix to visit and hang with my son, so I'll give anything a try. Rolled into the parking lot, which was full. Looked at the door leading into where you order, and people were outside waiting to get in. I took both of those things as good signs. I was waiting for my son to show up. I got to check out the smokers and the guys running the smoke. The people are dedicated barbecue professionals, and the smokers are serious tools. Once you enter, you're greeted by a friendly staff, and the guy cutting the brisket, dishing out the pork belly, and making the sandwiches is an awesome dude. My son ordered brisket, pork belly, and jalapeño grits. I ordered the jefe sandwich, pulled pork, sausage, and jalapeño grits. Between the two plates. We had a great sampler of several items from Little Miss BBQ University. I would have to say they passed on all points, including their three sauces: a mustard sauce, a traditional sauce and spicy sauce; all three rocked it. Pit Masters school is in session at Little Miss BBQ University!

Mmm mmm mmm delicious!!! The 4/5 stars is me being picky because it could easily be 5/5, our favorite things here were the brisket, ribs, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and potato salad! We loved that they had bbq options including a mustard bbq that not all bbq places carry. I am a big fan of smoked turkey and although it was fantastic here it wasn't my overall favorite, I do also prefer pickled onions vs raw (again me just being picky but if they gave that option that would be amazing! And we didn't care much for the house sausage but that jalapeño sausage is 10/10!! The service was also amazing, great positive attitudes the moment you walk into the door. It is a small spot and they are popular !! It's probably best to get your food to go because the indoor seating is very minimal. You may also need to wait in line in that AZ heat because the moment you walk into the door you're at the food so another reason to just order pickup! Overall definitely one of our top bbq spots on the food alone!

Two meat plate with fatty brisket, pulled pork, mac 'n cheese, grits, white bread. Prickly pear lemonade. Pecan pie. Sauce.

While I'd recommend ordering online to save time and make sure they're not sold out of items, Little Miss BBQ is well worth the wait. I came the Sunday before Memorial Day and waited about an hour. They'll let you order drinks while in line and there's water. They sold out of pork belly right when I reached the front so I hope to try that next time. All of the employees were incredibly friendly. I got the two meat plate with fatty brisket and pulled pork with mac 'n cheese and grits as sides. I added on the prickly pear lemonade and pecan pie. The meats rivaled the BBQ I've had in Texas. The mac was incredibly cheesy and flavorful, and they know how to do grits right. Even with the jalapeños they were not spicy at all and I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. The pecan pie was the best I've ever had. The filling was custardy thick - I've never had a pie like it. The lemonade was a nice tart complement to the meal, plus I loved the house and mustard sauces. Having grown up in the South, I have high standards for BBQ. This place deserves all the praise it's getting.

2 meat platter.. brisket, sausage, grits, potato salad

I've had this brand at another location, so when I saw there was one near my hotel I knew it was a go to! Haven't have the brisket, and opted for the jalapeño cheddar sausage, cheese grits, and the potato salad. Brisket was all that greens are made of, the sausage was as expected. Grits were loaded with flavor, and the potato salad was average. Sauces were available, but none were necessary! Only downside was lack of local beers... opted for a Coke but cold beer would out this over the top! Ambiance is picnic holler, service was at the counter but helpful, and prices are in line with expectation...

First visit to Little Miss BBQ after hearing the hype for awhile and it definitely lived up to a lot of it--with a few caveats. We got there around 11:15, just 15 minutes after opening, and the place was already buzzing. Parking was tight, but we managed to snag the last spot. The line, though, was no joke--it took about 40 minutes to reach the counter. On the plus side, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the wait a bit more bearable. The sandwiches are on the pricier side--around $20 for what looked like roughly a third of a pound--but the quality of the meat is clear. I had the sliced brisket, and my husband went for the chopped brisket. Both were smoky, moist, and packed with flavor. Maybe just a touch too salty for our personal taste, but still really enjoyable overall. The coleslaw was a nice surprise--tangy, fresh, and a great balance to the richness of the meat. All in all, a solid experience and worth trying at least once. Next time, I'd definitely order ahead to skip the long wait. Sorry about not having pictures of the sandwiches. We were so hungry by the time we got back home we wolfed them down and forgot to take them.

Wow! I know there are a lot of BBQ places and there are several just like this one, but WOW! It's not just the food, which is amazing! It's the dudes serving you up! Like these guys are so fun and loud and friendly! There are two guys that really do a lot of talking while you're in line and the one in particular is funny and very entertaining. I had the Jeffe Sandwich with Ranch Beans and slaw and I grabbed a single serve SMOKED pecan pie! I didn't get a pic of the pie but it was AMAZING! I'm telling you, I didn't want to get caught recording them or I would have gotten way better videos because these guys are great! They have this location in Tempe / Phoenix and another location as well! Great lit BBQ and great entertainment as well!

    Little Dager plate,

This place was amazing! Let me start with the staff, one of the staff members came out and made sure people moved in so we didn't have to wait in heat! So thankful. Now on to the food I will say best pork ribs , jalapeno sausage, pulled pork and brisket. Sides were excellent we had the grits and coleslaw!! The staff checked on us often and got us sauce to go!! My son had the banana pudding and said best ever!! We will be back!!

Really cute guy handing me meat!!!

This is a great bbq place. The beef rib was amazing! I highly recommend you eat here and try to get there early or order for pick up.

2 meat combo, with a beef rib ala carte. That smoked pecan pie was amazing!

Been on the hunt for quality bbq for quite some time and this is up there. A bit pricey but that's what happens when you want a beef dino rib along with the 2 meat plate lol. Tasted amazing!

I've got a confession... I had never been to Little Miss BBQ before, and after finally going, I can officially say: it is absolutely worth the hype. Every award, every line, every rave review. Everything was phenomenal. The brisket was tender and buttery with that perfectly smoky. The pulled pork was insanely juicy. Even the sides tasted like they got the same love and attention as the meats.  You can smell the magic before you even reach the door, and the first bite truly lives up. We went late in the afternoon on a weekday and had maybe one or two people in front of us. There was shockingly not that much of a wait. Highly recommend checking it out around that time so you don't have to wait outside in line. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and you just know you're in for something good.  If you haven't tried Little Miss BBQ yet, (don't wait as long as me!) make it your next stop. It's an Arizona staple and must try!

1st time in! looks so good!

Ask the Community - Little Miss BBQ-University

Will you guys be open for takeout on thanksgiving 2022?

Only for those who pre ordered to just pick up.

Do you have Baby Back Ribs?

    No they don't.

Is there any sugar in the cole slaw?

Not sure. I does taste on the sweeter side. I will ask next chance I get.

Is it in a safe enough area to bring kids?

Yes it is. And the picnic table area for outdoor eating has a lot of space for you to spread out and social distance. The staff is both inside and outside and the area is reasonably enclosed. I imagine you would not be at all uncomfortable with kids.

How long does the bottled sauce last?

Should I bring my own chair?

You don't need to. And as you get closer to the front of the line they have chairs for you. If you did bring one make sure it's small. It's totally worth any wait in line.

What are your run-out times for Thursday afternoon? What lasts past 1 PM?

    Every thing but fatty brisket

Do they have Gluten Free options?

It's meat. That's what they cook.

If I pre order to pick up in the afternoon (around 5pm), am I guaranteed that everything will be served or do they sell out even after pre ordering?

    They will sell out

Is there a line? I want to bring some bbq back to CA but was wondering what time I should get there to be early.

Yes, very long line. Little Miss Barbecue opens at 11 AM You should get there no later than 10:15 AM if you want to be one of the first ones through the line. If you come during business hours you can expect to wait at least an hour. And if you get…

Can you have a couple beverages while waiting in line like you can at Franklins?

There is water in coolers that are self serve

What's the anticipated line/availability at about 1:30 on a Friday?

Hi Brad, Typically we cook what we think will put us at a 3:30-4pm sell out time. Most days fatty…

An you order and pick up, if so how long is that process? Thanks

If you go late, they may run out, but you can try going at 2 or 3 on a Wednesday or Thursday. They are opening a new location, if not already. Check that out.

What time do they put out the tickets for the line?

I was just there last weekend and the parking lot attendant guy with a vest was handing out tickets at 9:00am. I was first in line and got the first ticket. They said they use to give out tickets only in the summer time since it's real hot outside…

Do you guys use creekstone beef?

We do not. We are using packer out of South Dakota. Creekstone is a good product but we aren't able to get primes and I also believe they have a bit much variability in their quality.…

    Do they serve beer?

No. They sell soda in cans and water in bottles.

I'd like to gift bottles of the BBQ Sauce as a gift for the holidays and will be picking up 2 weeks in advance, when should it be used by? Should it be refrigerated, or stored on the counter after use?

Hi Kelsey, I have a bottle of it in my cupboard that I used the other day after being in there for…

What are the options for ordering Thanksgiving dinner?

Call their number and check ahead at least two weeks in advance

    Do you cater?

You can pre order as much as they will allow and pick it up via the "Backdoor" if you order more than 5lbs.

Can you let me know roughly what time one would have to get there on a Saturday to minimize their wait? I've just heard about this place and would love to try it out, don't even mind waiting either if the food is as good as it looks.

Hi Miguel! As a member of the Little Miss staff, I can tell you that the first person on Saturdays generally arrives around 8:30-9. By 10:30, the line is usually pretty long and parking might be full. If you are looking for specific menu items, I…

The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.
