all of the sides are good. I really like the jalapeño grits.

I am from Kansas City and consider myself a bit of a barbecue expert. Don't get me wrong. I like all types of barbecue: Carolina, Texas, Nashville, and, of course, Kansas City. Just makes you look at the barbecue from all across the country in a little different light Last time, my son took me to a barbecue joint in Phoenix. It was definitely a fail. I was accused of being a Kansas City barbecue snob and the only reason that I said it wasn't good. It's because it wasn't from Kansas City. Not true. The barbecue was just bad. Let's face it. There are a lot of bad barbecue joints. So when my son said, Meet me for lunch at Little Miss BBQ University I was a little bit apprehensive. But I'm in Phoenix to visit and hang with my son, so I'll give anything a try. Rolled into the parking lot, which was full. Looked at the door leading into where you order, and people were outside waiting to get in. I took both of those things as good signs. I was waiting for my son to show up. I got to check out the smokers and the guys running the smoke. The people are dedicated barbecue professionals, and the smokers are serious tools. Once you enter, you're greeted by a friendly staff, and the guy cutting the brisket, dishing out the pork belly, and making the sandwiches is an awesome dude. My son ordered brisket, pork belly, and jalapeño grits. I ordered the jefe sandwich, pulled pork, sausage, and jalapeño grits. Between the two plates. We had a great sampler of several items from Little Miss BBQ University. I would have to say they passed on all points, including their three sauces: a mustard sauce, a traditional sauce and spicy sauce; all three rocked it. Pit Masters school is in session at Little Miss BBQ University!

Stumbled across this gem while visiting Scottsdale for Spring Training. I saw the reviews coming out the airport and was stunned at the reviews. We got our rental car and drove right over. Because we were hungry we decided not to wait in the line but reschedule to go back on Friday. I looked more at the reviews and Tik Tok's and saw this place was legit and the beef rib was to die for. Comes Friday, we get there at 10:15 am right before the line built up. We spoke with one of the employees for while regarding what to order and about Spring Training while we were in line. As we got in, you order at the counter and pick what you want. The employees are cutting up the food in front of you and weighing it. The inside area has limited seating and it's very narrow. Outside theres a good amount of seating but filled up right away. I ordered the beef rib for my dad and I to share, a plate for myself with brisket and turkey. I got cole slaw and mac sald on the side, both were kind've whatever for me. The turkey honestly is a sleeper pick, it was delicious and more flavorful that I thought. Brisket was mouthwatering and so tender but that beef rib lived to the hype. It fell off the bone and had the perfect fattiness to tender ratio. We enjoyed the outside and feasted but it's quite expensive like all BBQ. The quality was fresh and I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. I don't eat BBQ a lot so I don't have a huge sample size for whats good or not but I loved it!

While I'd recommend ordering online to save time and make sure they're not sold out of items, Little Miss BBQ is well worth the wait. I came the Sunday before Memorial Day and waited about an hour. They'll let you order drinks while in line and there's water. They sold out of pork belly right when I reached the front so I hope to try that next time. All of the employees were incredibly friendly. I got the two meat plate with fatty brisket and pulled pork with mac 'n cheese and grits as sides. I added on the prickly pear lemonade and pecan pie. The meats rivaled the BBQ I've had in Texas. The mac was incredibly cheesy and flavorful, and they know how to do grits right. Even with the jalapeños they were not spicy at all and I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. The pecan pie was the best I've ever had. The filling was custardy thick - I've never had a pie like it. The lemonade was a nice tart complement to the meal, plus I loved the house and mustard sauces. Having grown up in the South, I have high standards for BBQ. This place deserves all the praise it's getting.

I've had this brand at another location, so when I saw there was one near my hotel I knew it was a go to! Haven't have the brisket, and opted for the jalapeño cheddar sausage, cheese grits, and the potato salad. Brisket was all that greens are made of, the sausage was as expected. Grits were loaded with flavor, and the potato salad was average. Sauces were available, but none were necessary! Only downside was lack of local beers... opted for a Coke but cold beer would out this over the top! Ambiance is picnic holler, service was at the counter but helpful, and prices are in line with expectation...

First visit to Little Miss BBQ after hearing the hype for awhile and it definitely lived up to a lot of it--with a few caveats. We got there around 11:15, just 15 minutes after opening, and the place was already buzzing. Parking was tight, but we managed to snag the last spot. The line, though, was no joke--it took about 40 minutes to reach the counter. On the plus side, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the wait a bit more bearable. The sandwiches are on the pricier side--around $20 for what looked like roughly a third of a pound--but the quality of the meat is clear. I had the sliced brisket, and my husband went for the chopped brisket. Both were smoky, moist, and packed with flavor. Maybe just a touch too salty for our personal taste, but still really enjoyable overall. The coleslaw was a nice surprise--tangy, fresh, and a great balance to the richness of the meat. All in all, a solid experience and worth trying at least once. Next time, I'd definitely order ahead to skip the long wait. Sorry about not having pictures of the sandwiches. We were so hungry by the time we got back home we wolfed them down and forgot to take them.

Some of the best bbq I've ever had. Always consistent. The brisket is some of the best I've ever had.

Wow! I know there are a lot of BBQ places and there are several just like this one, but WOW! It's not just the food, which is amazing! It's the dudes serving you up! Like these guys are so fun and loud and friendly! There are two guys that really do a lot of talking while you're in line and the one in particular is funny and very entertaining. I had the Jeffe Sandwich with Ranch Beans and slaw and I grabbed a single serve SMOKED pecan pie! I didn't get a pic of the pie but it was AMAZING! I'm telling you, I didn't want to get caught recording them or I would have gotten way better videos because these guys are great! They have this location in Tempe / Phoenix and another location as well! Great lit BBQ and great entertainment as well!

The food was amazing. I got the two meat plate for about $24 . I got brisket and pulled pork , potato salad and coleslaw. Banana pudding as desert. The service was really good the workers were very welcoming and nice. The overall vibe and ambiance is chill. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Inside has a/c if you want to stay super cool. Outside seating has benches and most of water spraying to stay cool as well. I would definitely return In The future. I found this place on google and I'm glad I did.

1st time in! looks so good!

So if you're hungry come early, they open at 11am & the line grows FAST & long. The parking lot is small, maybe 35 spots. I always get the sliced brisket with jalapeno grits! Everything they offer is really good, the staff is very friendly & they bust their butts to make as much as they can for you. It's a outdoor bbq place, there's about 7 tables inside & 6 outdoor bench seating. If you're thinking about mouthwatering bbq, this is where you want to plan to eat.

brisket, pulled pork, burn pork belly ends.

Was hungry for BBQ and came across this pace and it's reviews. After reading several I decided I had to try it. While the place was very basic (food line, tables outside) the food was terrific. I had brisket, pulled pork, and 2 pork belly burnt ends along with coleslaw and potato salad. HOLY H3LL Batman the flavor was out of this world. I am not big on spice and have a low tolerance for it so I can say it was a tad spicy for me but for 90% of the human race would prob say there didn't notice the heat. It didn't stop me from enjoying all of it. I especailly like they had a mustard bbq sauce along with their sweet & tangy, and spicy. No I didn't try the spicy but I did try the other two. I found the meat realy didn't need any sauce and quit after the first couple bites with each. sides we good, nothing to write home about, seating like I said was outdoors under a shelter so you don't roast in the sun but I don't see enjoying it in mid July or Aug so thankfull it was mid January for me. I will keep this place on my list of stop when I'm in this area and return for more.

I've got a confession... I had never been to Little Miss BBQ before, and after finally going, I can officially say: it is absolutely worth the hype. Every award, every line, every rave review. Everything was phenomenal. The brisket was tender and buttery with that perfectly smoky. The pulled pork was insanely juicy. Even the sides tasted like they got the same love and attention as the meats.  You can smell the magic before you even reach the door, and the first bite truly lives up. We went late in the afternoon on a weekday and had maybe one or two people in front of us. There was shockingly not that much of a wait. Highly recommend checking it out around that time so you don't have to wait outside in line. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and you just know you're in for something good.  If you haven't tried Little Miss BBQ yet, (don't wait as long as me!) make it your next stop. It's an Arizona staple and must try!

Holy crap, this place is fantastic!!! You can purchase meat by the pound or get sandwiches. I recommend the jefe. You can also get two meat plates with two sides. Three types of barbecue sauce, mustard, which I highly recommend, are spicy. Several different types of soda and free water to drink. Plenty of seating inside and out, but I highly recommend arriving early and standing in line, since it is first-come, first-served, and once they're out, they're done. Laid back fun atmosphere. Staff help make decisions and suggest different products, and they laugh and joke with each other and with you, the customer. And if you're really into it, they do sell clothing as a souvenir.

So I heard so much good about this BBQ and that this is the best BBQ in Arizona.. But everytime I think about coming here it's too far.. But today I accidentally realized I was really close, so I was happy to try it out. Parking lot is little busy with people in and out, and sitting inside is limited. Very friendly staff greeting you at the entrance. Menu selection was pretty good minus little bit on the high end. Ordered two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. For the side ordered the jalapeños cheddar grits and coke slaw. Guy taking my order was nice enough to give me small fat end of the brisket while I waited. Oh snap. So fatty and flavorful. OK so I sat down and looked at the sauce. Regular, spicy and mustard. Nice selection of BBQ sauce. I started eating because I couldn't wait and I realized I didn't take my first picture which happens here and there. Brisket I have to say was best brisket I have ever had at a BBQ joint. The fatty end was so yummy melt in your mouth, regular meaty cut was still nice and moist and flavorful. Nice smoke color on the edge. Not too dry and nice light smoke flavor... Pork rub was also pretty dang good. Again probably the best I have had in Arizona.. Probably second to Peg Leg Porkers in Tennessee. Nice and juicy and almost fall off the bone but not too much to where meat falls off before you take a bite. BBQ sauces were really good also. Spicy was really not spicy at all.. I which it was little spicier.. The mustard one was probably one of the best mustard sauce at. BBQ place. Coleslaw.. So fresh and crunchy tangy yummy coleslaw.. One of the best coleslaw at BBQ place. Jalapeño cheddar grits, I love grits and nice touch with cheddar mixed into it.. Best grits I have had so far. Over all the atmosphere, food, and friendly staff made this trip worth a while.. I would definitely come back here with my family and order some other meats. This is definitely 4 and half start for me.. I am so glad I came.. Very yummy.

Will you guys be open for takeout on thanksgiving 2022?

Only for those who pre ordered to just pick up.

Do you have Baby Back Ribs?

    No they don't.

Is there any sugar in the cole slaw?

Not sure. I does taste on the sweeter side. I will ask next chance I get.

Is it in a safe enough area to bring kids?

Yes it is. And the picnic table area for outdoor eating has a lot of space for you to spread out and social distance. The staff is both inside and outside and the area is reasonably enclosed. I imagine you would not be at all uncomfortable with kids.

How long does the bottled sauce last?

Should I bring my own chair?

You don't need to. And as you get closer to the front of the line they have chairs for you. If you did bring one make sure it's small. It's totally worth any wait in line.

We got there around 8am on a Sunday and there was line but it wasn't a long wait. We wanted to get there early since we heard that items can sell out by the time they close. The stand outs for me were the Croque Monsieur & their Cruffins! They heated up our Croque Monsieur for us since we wanted to eat it in the cafe. Definitely this had to be shared between me & my friend! It's very hearty, but absolutely delicious! I'd totally get it again! The 2 specialty Cruffins we tried were a Cookies & Cream Cruffin & Blackberry Ricotta Cruffin. Both had a delicious filling and were unlike anything I've never had! They change out their flavors often, which only makes me want to come back and try their other flavors. Note: I was told that they only serve cruffins on the weekends so you have been warned! We also brought back a lot of pastries to try! Like their pistachio croissant & their Guava Cheese croissant which were my friend's favorite! They both have great flavors that you can't find elsewhere! Personally, we both tried their chocolate eclair and it wasn't our cup of tea, so I'd skip it next time for something else. My tip: If you have time, enjoy a pastry or 2 at the cafe itself, especially if it needs to be warmed. It's perfect when it comes out! The cafe seating is limited but there were open tables.

This cozy restaurant was fairly busy and we perused the pastry case while waiting in line, lots of tempting treats. My friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which are topped with blueberries. A lot of their menu items have pork in it, but they were good about substituting. The burrito usually has schreiners chorizo, hash browns, cheddar, sunny egg and chili oil with side of salsa verde. I asked for avocado instead of the chorizo. We brought our own drinks so didn't order any. We grabbed a table on their patio since the sun wasn't over our heads yet. It's nice out there and I think they have some fans going to keep the air flowing, and there was also a natural breeze. Our food came out and they were plated beautifully. My burrito looked good, but it had too much hashbrowns and also there wasn't any chili oil, which was a bummer. Maybe they normally put it on the chorizo so they forgot to add it to my avocado. The egg was runny which I like: The salsa verde was delicious; I love cilantro and it had great flavors. I tried the pancakes and they were fairly rich but I liked the tart lemon flavor and the blueberries, one of my favorite fruits. This is a nice place to meet up (small groups) and I'm glad I visited again.

Well, it was awesome - seated immediately, even though it was fairly busy and had our table server Izzy quickly there to ask if we wanted water and orders for other drinks - we went with Cider Corps Mango Foxtrot, as we always often do - such a good cider and this is on draught here also. Music was a little loud as many people talking loudly to hear but it wasn't too bad - but noticeable! I ordered the Perfect Grilled Cheese and sweet potato fries, which were so good. The bread was like a fruit bread - actually its a spiced pear bread - which is delicious! The wife got the Chicken Club and sweet potato fries, also stating it was one of the nicest sandwiches she has had in a while. We swapped our sandwich halves to get a taste of each and we both rolled our eyes in delight - both were fresh , very tasty and not over-stuffed, making them easier to eat! We will definitely be back as its a close drive to get here.. Love it!
