I'm a big fan of Glow Worm Play Cafe. For so many reasons. Perhaps one of the most unacknowledged…read moreperks of Glow Worm is that it's attached to Staggeringly Delicious. One of the biggest misconceptions I've encountered in conversation about Glow Worm is that people don't realize that while being incredibly convenient for Glow Worm customers, Staggeringly Delicious is an entirely separate establishment. You don't need to be at the play cafe to get some of what truly is staggeringly delicious. The chocolate chip cookies, arguably the best in the city, seem to be one of the best kept secrets in Louisville. They're made with brown butter, triple chocolate, and topped with just the right amount of sea salt. I'm a big fan of blueberry and lemon desserts, but everything everyone else does, well...they just seems to do better. Their frittatas are phenomenal. It seems like pretzel buns are becoming more and more popular, but having them made fresh is just superior. The breakfast panini and turkey panini are crunchy, gooey, savory, and hit the spot every single time. Every time I order, I'm satisfied. It's consistent. It's affordable. I don't feel guilty when I eat there. I don't feel guilty when I feed it to my family. Sadly, that's becoming hard to come by. If you're near the Highlands and you're jonesing for a simple lunch or a treat, put this place on your radar. Don't be dissuaded by the play cafe sign out front. The play cafe is absolutely second-to-none, but you don't need a kid or play date to enjoy Staggeringly Delicious.

So happy to be introduced to this women-owned business through Yelp! I didn't even need to sample…read moreone before knowing I was going to buy a few to take home. Looking at them was enough to know - plus the price point was in alignment to get me to say yes. My favorite bite has been the monster and chocolate chip is close behind. The party cookie is sweet so I ate it in pieces. Now I'm begrudgingly sharing the caramel appledoodle. My husband is enjoying his pecan cookie. The cookies are thick - and some are soft while others are firmer (but in a good way). I've followed the IG page to keep up and the online menu is showing me the other flavors. I need a snickerdoodle!!! If you spot Cane & Flour at a pop-up, make sure to grab a cookie. Or, order online for a gift, when you're in charge of dessert, or to treat yourself. The website also provides a few FAQs.

Look how cute the box and bags are! The cookie had that perfect buttery crumble. The rich pecan caramel was the perfect amount of decadent, sweet, and balanced. I have also worked with her for a Yelp event and she is incredibly easy and pleasant to communicate with. If you are looking for a way to elevate a treat basket or include a local woman-owned small business at an event, look no further! Cane & Flour for the win.

The cookies are SO good! My go to is their classic chocolate chip or a slice of cookie cake, they never disappoint. While the cookies are incredible, you haven't lived until you've had one of their cakes. Absolutely delectable, truly phenomenal, cannot recommend enough, 10/10, will never buy a cake anywhere else. Plus, Abigail is the sweetest person and truly cares about making everyone's experience at the bakery amazing. It showed in the cake decorating class I took there and with the responses to every email and interaction we had for my son's custom birthday cake. If you're ever looking for a place to get some incredible sweets, look no further than Bae's. It's a judgement free zone and the perfect place to hangout with a few friends or to get some solo work done.

Their hours are listed that they opened at 10am that day but when I arrived there was a line outside because they were not opening until noon. The cake is cute but not exactly as pictured. The border is done nicely but the writing compared to what was advertised kind of sucks, especially for the $40 it cost. The cake itself was okay, more cake like than cookie though. The store was super cute, great vibes inside.

There is also a variety of African jewelry and fun trinkets available for purchase as well. As soon as you walk through the door, there is the delicious smell of freshly baked cookies. Each cookie is pretty large and is individually wrapped. Best of all, they're reasonably priced! Okay, so as a tourist, this place popped up on my radar because of an episode of 'Little America' (The Baker) on Apple TV. It's a series of dramatized immigrant stories and when I watched this episode, I saw that the founder had a shop in Louisville. Since I was visiting Louisville soon, I put this place on my list and felt like I just had to visit since I love the immigrant stories from the show. Came in and was greeted and I ordered a few cookies since I was on my way out of town (driving up to Indianapolis). The cookies made for delicious road snacks!

Most recently we grabbed cookies while at the Kentucky State Fair. Snickerdoodle will always be my favorite. I don't crave the cookies as much as I used to. The primary reason they are easier to resist is that they are dryer and perhaps not as fresh due to the business growth. I miss the older experience of a softer, fresher cookie that doesn't crumble. A variety of flavors are available - from the traditional chocolate chip and oatmeal to double chocolate chip and pumpkin. This store is located on Bardstown Road, which requires street parking.
