My all time favorite bakery in Louisville. They have the friendliest, most welcoming staff. They never judge me when I come in for two cookies and leave with 6 and a slice of cake. The cookies are SO good! My go to is their classic chocolate chip or a slice of cookie cake, they never disappoint. While the cookies are incredible, you haven't lived until you've had one of their cakes. Absolutely delectable, truly phenomenal, cannot recommend enough, 10/10, will never buy a cake anywhere else. Plus, Abigail is the sweetest person and truly cares about making everyone's experience at the bakery amazing. It showed in the cake decorating class I took there and with the responses to every email and interaction we had for my son's custom birthday cake. I came across this company on tiktok and thought it was super cute! I preordered a cake for Valentine's Day and went to pick it up on my selected date. Their hours are listed that they opened at 10am that day but when I arrived there was a line outside because they were not opening until noon. The cake is cute but not exactly as pictured. The border is done nicely but the writing compared to what was advertised kind of sucks, especially for the $40 it cost. The cake itself was okay, more cake like than cookie though. Cute decor and very cute seating areas. The store is kinda set back from the front of the sidewalk, so you have to walk back into the building. Lots of street parking though. There's lots of cakes and different items. I just got the pumpkin pie poptart. Very cute looking, the filling was definitely full of pumpkin and well flavored. This business has been in this location for about a year and a half, though the business itself has been around in other locations in the region for about six years. The attendant was so nice and helpful when I asked questions about the stuffed cookies. Each particular stuffed cookie is stuffed with its namesake''s ingredients. For example, a Reese's pieces cookie would have an entire Reesie cup inside of it. OMG! I just cannot believe this concept hasn't been perfected and brought to the public masses before now. I used to come to Sweet Surrender before it turned into Bae's Bakery. Given my sweet tooth I wanted to try this place and I am happy I did! Every time I visit Bae's the staff is very kind. I needed a custom birthday cookie cake and every time I called and spoke to someone about it, they were patient and informative. On the day of ordering it was simple and they told me how to keep it fresh. Two days in the fridge and I was worried it would be stale. However it was not! I am somebody who will choose cookie over cake every time, and this is no different. This baby is so thick and the icing is the perfect level of sweet that I don't want to scrape any off. The cookie is almost like 2 layers - top being a fully cooked cookie, the bottom being cookie dough. So like the perfect medium rare cookie. I asked for different shades of green for this custom, and it turned out so nicely! I will say that I didn't receive a pickup time, and when I went to pick it up they were closed for derby prep so I low key freaked out, but they were super kind and helpful and were expecting me! I can't express how easy and amazing it was to work with Bae's Bakery! I'm all the way in San Diego and was searching for a bakery to make a cake for my husband's nursing school graduation. The graduation was at the Kentucky convention center so I was trying to find somewhere near there. I reached out to the bakery via email and they made the process of ordering and paying so easy! Oh my, these cookies! One is more than enough. These are filled and piled high, monstrosities of sweetness! And they were a hit when I brought six to a recent party. I recently got to check out the new Bae's on Frankfort Avenue. It's dangerous (aka wonderful) that this is now in my Clifton neighborhood. Dade, the clerk, was so helpful, telling me each flavor that was available that day. I opted for Oreo, Biscoff, Reese's Pieces peanut butter, red velvet, s'more and cinnamon roll. These are more expensive than normal cookies ($4 or $5 each), but then again ... HUGE! I liked the s'more and Biscoff cookies the best. The custom cookie cake I ordered for Valentine's Day was beautiful, unfortunately, the texture of the cake was very dry and bland.

This was my first time trying their coffee and I got the blackberry cobbler shaken espresso and WOW! Beyond tasty and at an amazing price!!! They have a fun summer menu with lots of fruit flavors. I also got a brownie and a s'mores cookie, the total for 3 items was around $16 which is honestly such an amazing price because these desserts are HEFTY! Came on a Sunday late morning since my friend had a gift card of some sort, so she decided to share treats with us. We chose a few cookies: chocolate chip, Oreo, cinnamon, red velvet, s'mores, and biscoff. We also shared a cookie butter cake. Delicious! The cake was sweet but the cookies weren't as sweet but it was perfect! They are LARGE cookies though. You could eat one yourself but we all ate about a quarter of some of them. They do have water sitting out to drink and you can grab forks at the counter. It was one guy at the counter, but he was patient with us and really nice. Glad they're here! After a small parenting fail/scheduling error on my end, I pulled out of the Waterfront Botanical Gardens today desperate to earn a little grace from my 3-year-old. Driving up Frankfort Avenue, the EAT CAKE sign is hard to miss. Since there's very little that cake can't fix, I pulled over and parked. It was early and we had breakfast already, so we followed the recommendation for a cinnamon roll. It was warm, gooey, and not too sweet. Honestly, it would easily land in the top few cinnamon rolls I've ever had. I'm not typically an icing kind of gal, but this was icing had me licking my fingers. More importantly, it saved my toddler's morning mood. It was interesting to hear that they also provide classes for kids, something I think my son would LOVE. Admittedly, I didn't try too much of the menu today. What I had was exceptional and I look forward to returning and trying a little bit of everything. They offer cookies, scones, cake brownies, and unique specialty coffees. They even had soup and curry chicken salad! This place is adorable. The interior is charming and they have a front patio perfect for watching passersby. You can't beat the location. The service was friendly, efficient, and fast. Not only was the cake absolutely the most beautiful cake I've ever seen, it also tasted really delicious! Bae's bakery is an old Louisville neighborhood bakery that specializes in delicious and massive cookies. They also offer scones, coffee and other treats. Being located on old Louisville they only have street parking and are take out only. You walk into a small but vibrant area that has some decor to the immediate right and glass case with the scones and Cookies to the left. My wife and I have made a few visits here. We are a big fan of the stuffed cookies. My personal favorites we have tried have been the cinnamon roll, the Reesie's pieces and the bourbon cookies. All of them have a soft fluffy exterior and a delicious and flavorful stuffed insides plus the delicious goodies piled on top the cookie. One cookie could easily fill up a whole meal. One very trip we make here the workers have been super nice and through and appear to take pride in their work and product. I imagine When something taste so good it's easy to be prideful for sure. Overall we love this little bakery, the wife and I like to buy a box of assorted stuffed cookies and scones and eat one or two for breakfast and then have a nice surprise after school snack waiting for the older girls when they get home. read more

After a scrolling through Bae's photos on Instagram I could not wait any longer to order something with that delicious chunky icing. I made an online order for the the 9 inch cookie cake on traditional chocolate chip. The process was self-explanitory, I referenced a few photos from their gallery to get the beautiful colors my partner loves so much. You'll get a conformation email to indicate your order is ready for pick up. Once I walked into the Baekery I was treated with a sense of excited and enthusiasm. I spoke with the majority of the squad in the back about my choice of wording on the top of the cookie cake (my partner just had surgery on her foot). I ordered a birthday cake based on a photo of a cake they'd already done. We arranged a day and time for me to come pick it up from Logan Street Market. They were quite late to meet me. I felt that was disrespectful. The cake was around $70, if I'm remembering correctly? It looked beautiful. Not really the colors I'd asked for but it still looked nice. Fast forward to dinner later that night when we cut the cake. It was EXTREMELY dense and EXTREMELY dry. It was honestly the worst cake I've ever had and I cannot believe how much I paid for it. I couldn't even finish my slice. We threw the cake away. What a waste. I would've been better off going ANYWHERE but Bae's for my birthday cake. I don't know if the cake had been made several days in advance, but I really did not appreciate the poor quality. Please do better if you are going to charge so much for your work. read more

The varieties I got were mostly infused with candy, and were so indulgent as to make it difficult for even a pastry addict to finish in one setting. Ordering 5 and getting the 6th free was fine by me, but at the end of the day I kind of bit off more than I could chew (even with an office to help me). I saw a foodie post some cookies from them a awhile back and I have been wanting to try them ever since. Located in Old Louisville the parking is pretty slim as it is street parking. It's worth the walk for sure. The lobby area is quaint with a larger baking area in the back. There were maybe 7-8 different types of cookies to choose from but those cookies were massive! There were also scones, brownies and cinnamon rolls. The pastries were not ready yet. The cookie cost start at $5 and the rolls start at $6. I went with the basic cookie, biggie smallz and a cinnamon roll. I like to try the simple items first before trying different items that I don't normally choose to make sure I like it. Some places won't do any rated M designs, so getting a "pull out game weak" cookie cake for Father's Day was perfect. The parking situation was not my favorite because it's basically just hope you can find a spot to parallel park in on the side of the road. Hopefully someday they are able to open another location with a parking lot. But I would deal with the parking again for this place And not only did we love the cookie cakes and cookies we got, but the staff was SO friendly and even helped me out to my car since I had so much to carry, including my baby in her car seat.
