Stopped by to study for an evening and honestly, there is A LOT of room for improvement here. The place was kind of dirty, and the vibe wasn't really welcoming. I ordered a matcha which was pretty fine, but lacked in the pistachio flavor I ordered it with until I got to the very end of the drink, so it for sure was not stirred. I'm not usually this kind of person but for $10 with tip a matcha should be stirred. Also, the free communal water (love the idea) had black specs floating in it. I grabbed three cups and they all had stuff in them, so I just notified the person behind the counter and sat down. This place has a great location and prime hours for night time nerds like me but the atmosphere and actual product left a lot to be desired. I most likely won't be going back. read more

Such a great experience at Bayt Al Mocha! I used to come to Haraz Coffee House, which was Bayt's predecessor in this same location, a lot, and I was happy and relieved to see that a lot of the menu is the same -- with some new surprises added as well! The calm ambience made it a perfect place to get some work done while indulging in delicious food and drinks. I tried a steak-filled empanada, which was a perfect breakfast treat, and I enjoyed both the Adani Chai (my absolute favorite!) and raspberry lemonade. Bayt Al Mocha is a Yemeni-inspired coffee shop, and this chai is the closest I've found to the chai I have enjoyed on my travels. The staff was very welcoming throughout my visit. There is lots of seating, so it works whether you want to meet and chat with people or just read and work by yourself. I liked that there was outdoor seating too. The pastry selection was more than I've seen at most other coffee shops, almost rivaling a bakery or dessert shop. I definitely want to come back and try the Dubai chocolate treats and the pistachio latte next time! read more

Their chai teas are the #1 best in town, because the chai herb blend is infused into the drink. This results in a preferred taste vs other places that use chai syrup. The spice, the bite, the smoothness, and the hot temp... all combines for a FABULOUS chai drink. Their desserts are also splendid, highlighted by the decadent Dubai Chocolate Cake and the Strawberry Chocolate Cups. This is Louisville. So I must start by telling you what this space use to be. Initially it was a Chase bank. Then it became Haraz, then Moka & co, and now Bayt Al Mocha. Since it's become a coffee shop, this space has been impeccable. The name on the door may have changed, but the coffee options and the inviting space has not. The interior is so open and pleasing to the eye. There's plenty of space to work from home have a meeting or just spend time with a friend. The desserts are impeccable and you have your choice of options. The service may take a little bit, but they will bring it to your table if you are choosing to stay in the shop I've really appreciated the space for how inviting it has become. read more

Second time I've been here. Pastries and coffee cannot be beat. I had a biscoff tres leches and biscoff latte. Tasted my daughter's biscoff cheesecake. Just spectacular. (They have plenty of other flavors.) Best coffee ever, and I've tasted coffee everywhere. The ambiance is extremely comfortable. Came here to study, very nice place. Not very noisy, good street to be by if you want to take a walk or grab a meal. We traveled over an hour to visit Bayt Al Mocha to enjoy offerings of another culture and were excited to try their coffees and bakery items. Service was extremely poor. Upon entering what appeared as a really nice storefront a half hour after opening, a store associate was behind the counter mopping. We entered the store and were excited about our experience and our expressions showed that. The associate looked up from mopping but did not greet us in any way. The associate continued mopping. At the time, we were the only two folks inside the store. It took us a moment to look at the food offerings in the dessert case. There were so many delectable items to peruse and potentially enjoy. Each item was labeled with a title. Meanwhile, the associate approached the register, still no greeting and was getting obviously disappointed with the time it took for us to decide. When I approached, I initiated the greeting with the associate excitedly and said how neat the store was. There was no smile, no happy expression, no hello back, and no thank you for complimenting their store and hard work - nothing. I proceeded to say I wanted to order the "Strawberry Dubai Chocolate", stated exactly as it was labeled. The associate got very frustrated with me and exclaimed "which one?!" I looked in the case and there were no others to choose from. I stated the one labeled "Dubai Chocolate" and pointed to the item with strawberries. We drove all that way just to visit their store and were thrilled to experience them, only for me to shut down at the subpar customer service we received starting from the time we opened the door. We also learned from one of the neighboring storefronts this place changes names frequently under the same ownership... something must be sketchy. At $68 for 2 pieces of pistachio cheesecake, 1 cup of Dubai chocolate with strawberries, and 1 coffee, we have spread the word and won't be back. read more
