The technicians are fantastic! The last time I was in the fumes were a bit much for me. This nail spa is very spacious and I usually don't notice this especially compared to other nail salons. I'm thinking that there might be an opportunity to decrease fumes and increase ventilation in this space. The customer service and nail artists are wonderful! read more

Very disappointed - trying to find a place for my sister to use since she just relocated to Austin. Based on these reviews, I expected a better experience compared to other nail places in the area. We made appointments for 3 people at 6:30, arrived at 6:20 to be told they could not take us for 30 min (a bad excuse of confusing appts but they really just accepted walk-ins b/c they don't want to turn down business ). We came back in 30 min (7pm) - still waited another 15 min before getting into chairs and then only two us got pedicures, the 3rd person had to wait another 20 min for another tech to be done with another customer. The pedicure was just ok - they didn't give us extra massage or add-ons for no charge after we waited 45 min past our appt time (bad business). I can get a $24 hot stone pedicure including callus removal in north NJ (right outside NYC) that's 10x better than this one (and I'll have to go when I'm back home to get a proper pedicure). Need to continue searching for a nail place in Austin. read more

The person who did my pedicure apparently put gel nail polish on even though I did not ask for gel and the UV light was not used either. She used 3 coats too and did a horrible paint job. The polish was on the sides of my toes after she attempted to get some off and it almost looked like I painted them myself. She barely scrubbed the heels of my feet to get the dead skin off and when I left it looked like I had not had a pedicure at all. Annoying and frustrating since I ordered the 2nd level up from a basic pedicure and was looking forward to trying this place. read more

They didn't sanitize the stations after each person which was very unsettling and on top of that it was $45 for an acrylic fil with gel nail polish..... that's how much I paid for a full set with gel. So far I've gotten the full set, gel , eyebrow wax, pedicure and SNS nails. The spa itself is clean and inviting. The nail techs are kind and make us feel welcomed. On a rare weekday off I decided to visit a nail salon. I generally just go to wherever is close and can get me in for a pedi. I decided on Sweet because of their Yelp rating and I could not have been more pleased. I ended going with the Deluxe Pedi and the standard mani. I was seated immediately, even as a 5th customer in the room they were sufficiently staffed to see to both my services immediately. They tried a bit of an upsell on the mani, but didn't push hard and gave me a fabulous mani with hand and lower arm massage regardless. Meticulous care with detail on my cuticles and my nails haven't looked this good in years. The pedi - SOOOOO good. My technician was Maria and her hands were strong. My calves and feet practically melted. She was super responsive to my comments on being ticklish ans did such a great job. The salon was clean, pleasant music, no strong odors, and seemed to offer a full range of service options. 10/10 would recommend! read more

My colleague goes here regularly and her nails look fantastic, so I thought I'd join her. I was underwhelmed. A $25 pedicure is fine, and Le and Ann seem like nice ladies, but I had to wait way too long for a very average experience. I didn't see any flagrant hygiene problems, but I just didn't feel confident about sanitation here. To make matters worse, my big toe was also smudged right as I got in my car. I'm going back for them to correct that, but I probably won't go back after that. OK, I went back. It was equally slow. I arrived at 4:30 and didn't get out of there till 5:45. The worst ever! I have pictures to prove it. The water was cold I was stared at for awhile when I walked in and finally someone greeted me. I could've did this on my own but better. When my pedicure was done my feet were dry so I asked for lotion and the lady that did my mani (while standing up) slapped some lotion on my heels and put my flip flops on and told me to sit under the dryers! The lady that did my pedi noticed me trying to rub in the lotion and came over to help. The manicurist was very rude and got upset that I asked her to cut the cuticles. She definitely did not know what she was doing. The others mightve been okay but these two were lost. The reviews here let me down big time. read more

Just got my nails done and They are already chipping. It took over an hour a half and left me for about 15 minutes to go wax somebody. She was also dipping 3 nails into the powder at a time. I get my nails down very 2 weeks and no one has ever done that. Not even two nails at a time! My nails are not filed evenly and have uneven on my bailbeds. You can see my nails underneath. My nails are flimsy and dip is supposed to make them strong and sturdy. They are no where close to that. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was WASTE of $50. read more

Great price for quality service. The tools come in sterile packages, the staff uses gloves and accomodating to instructions regarding cutting. Paying someone is for a pedicure is rare and I've only been to a hndful of places in Austin. Cleanliness is upmost importance in my opinion, as staph infections aren't cute, even with cute shaped and painted nails. Price is not always indicative of a place using clean instruments either. I really, really, like this place. It's in the old Lakehills Plaza shopping center at Lamar and Ben White (In the building closest to the road, just East of the music store.) The sign on the building just says "Nails" but the door says "Sweet" So, what I loved about it, was Hen (Not spelled correctly, but pronounce as spelled) She really is "sweet" and I adored her. She gave me a great gel manicure while I was also having a pedicure. I love it when they save my time--that's what keeps me from going. When new folks came in, the vibe was chill--in other words, no one hopped up from helping myself or the other patrons in progress. I like that! My nails looked great for a full 17 days, which is exactly what I expect for gel service. The place is very nice, relaxing and everyone is super polite. Low stress, great service. This one was a mixed bag. Pedicure was okay. Eyebrow wax was really thorough with a pleasing end result. However this was the worst manicure I've ever gotten. Bar none including home jobs from liquored-up gal pals. My cuticles weren't done. The polish is so stripey that my gay son was ready to go back in to deliver a well-needed powder slap. I might go back for the eyebrows but no way would I pay for a pedi/mani from them. Honestly the pedi was mediocre at best. Water was tepid. Rinse water was actually cold. Towels were too hot. Lol. I sound like I'm in church doing a complaint litany. Definitely do not recommend this place. Yeah, the more I think about it, the less I want to give it even one star. I wanted to like this place, especially based on the reviews. I went in, said, I would like a mani/pedi and, for the manicure, instead of doing gel I would like to try the dip polish which I had never done before. I assumed that was all understood. They took me back to the chair and started my pedicure. The lady came over with the dip supplies and started filing my nails and doing the prep. At no point did she soak my hands in water, as you would normally do. At some point, she started painting and dipping without doing any kind of soak, cuticle push back or cleaning, etc. I was very confused and said, "are you going to clean up my cuticles?" To which she basically said, oh, you can do that before or after. I chalked it up to me being new to the dip process. At some point, she finished the dip, put oil on my cuticles, which were in dire need of being pushed back and trimmed. She kind of trimmed them, even though they were dry and then she was done. I looked at her and said, "do you not soak my hands and push back my cuticles??", to which she replied that the manicure was extra. Extra?!? That's exactly what I came in for! At both times when I called ahead and came into the front door, I said I wanted a MANI and PEDI. So, when I asked for dip instead of gel, I assumed they knew I wanted a manicure....seems pretty obvious. I was extremely disappointed and would have been more upset if my pedicure hadn't been as good as it was. At the end, I spent, with tip, $105 for a fairly good pedi and a shitty dip manicure...or whatever it was. It started to bubble up not long after I had it done. I won't be back! read more

However, I also do not expect the staff to engage customer in conversations about their antibiotics and yeast infections. Oh, staff infections as well. I've visited Sweet Nails and Spa twice since moving to Austin, and it reminds me of the nail salons in Boston. While it's not Coolidge Corner cheap ($25-$30 for a mani/pedi), the people are friendly and my feet love going. On both visits, I've gotten the deluxe pedicure. It's $36 (as opposed to $26 for a regular pedicure), but it includes extra massage... and the massages have been great! My feet always leave shiny and happy, and I never feel rushed. I also appreciate that they tell incoming customers an actual wait time instead of plopping them into the pedicure chair immediately. My biggest complaint is that the polish selection is old and tiny. Definitely bring your own polish if you want more than basic red. read more

I liked my pedicure but was disappointed that of them include paraffin wax (besides the most expensive $70 one) and you have to pay an extra $10. Everyone in that salon makes you feel welcome right away when you open the door, on top they'll have a decent convocation. Ladies are so so nice here and I loved the service I got here, not to mention the really nice environment. The interior is so clean and modern, it makes the experience even more enjoyable. I had a fullset done with regular polish for $35 not including tip. My only reason for 4 stars is because my nails were a little off shape which I didn't realize till I had already left the shop, but it wasnt too terrible, I was able to go home and file it myself but it would have been nice if I didnt have to! The ladies here take their time with their work and are so pleasant to face! The prices are reasonable and the shop itself is so clean and nice. I would definitely go here again. I decided to try Sweet Nails after the nail salon I typically go to when down a bit in quality. Both are the same proximity to my home so it's perfect. I really liked Sweet Nails! I went in for a pedicure and was not at all pressured to go for the most expensive treatment or include a manicure on my visit. The quality and time that was put into the pedicure was a real deal maker for me as well as the refreshing feeling of not being up sold. I am incredibly happy with the service here. Despite not having an appointment beforehand, my two roommates and I were able to quickly be seated with a nail technician. All of the staff were very polite and overall, the nail salon was both very clean and had a great atmosphere. My nail tech was Cherri. She is both very polite and is amazing at what she does. I wanted matte black, coffin shaped acrylic nails and Cherri did exactly what I wanted. Throughout the process, she always asked me for my opinion regarding the length, style, etc. to make sure I was happy with the outcome. And I most definitely was.
