The first thing I will say is that everyone who worked here was fabulous. Literally everyone was friendly, happy, energetic, and if I were a skilled technician I would want to work at Golden Nails Salon & Spa. The vibes were immaculate. Even for an introvert who doesn't like to chat. However, the price they charged was fairly high for a pretty standard set of gel nails and a basic pedicure/polish. Especially considering my fingernails started chipping by the second day, and are basically all gone within less than a week. Though to be fair my toes still look perfect, and the hot rock message was wonderful. I'm torn, I liked the vibe enough that I might consider giving them another shot, maybe I just got unlucky? It's pretty close to me, and like I said my toes were solid, so maybe I just go there for pedicures? But the place I usually go is cheaper and does better work, so I don't think I'll take the gamble. read more

I went to get a basic builder gel refill. I left with $80 less in my bank account. The original technician I asked for called out sick so I was put with the first available technician. Once she started on my nails, I immediately knew things were about to go wrong, but I could never have imagined the outcome. She had no idea how to apply builder gel to nails. After curing it, she decided to completely shave off the builder gel and put on regular gel of the wrong color. After that was cured, she started to shape my nails and completely made them sideways. The left side of four of my nails was completely shaved down. It looked ridiculous. I also left the salon with five of my fingers bleeding. She then forced me to get a design after I said multiple times that I did not want one. She put a design on ALL TEN nails. She told me I would only be charged a total of $65, but when I went up to the front desk, where all the workers were yelling at each other, I was told I was being charged $80. I told the desk worker I was told I would only have to pay $65. She went to check with the tech who did my nails, and she said to just charge me $75. The tech explained to me that a design plus builder gel plus a gel color on top would be $80. I didn't have the energy to argue, so I paid and left. Why did I have to pay for builder gel if it was completely shaved off?? Why would I have to pay for a design I didn't ask for?? I will never go back. read more

First off, I've been coming here since 2019 and have recommended this place to people. I came in a couple of days ago for a pedicure before my vacation. The lady doing my pedicure, Lisa, didn't even do the foot scrub. I had to do the basic pedicure because of a time crunch otherwise I would have done the collagen pedi. Even with the basic pedicure you're supposed to get the back of your feet scrubbed and she didn't. I told the girl up front and she said that the manager would call me but here I am still waiting for that call. This is very disappointing and I most likely will not return. read more

My coworker and I decided to get mani-pedis on Saturday, 1/4/25. The place looked promising but I was reminded very quickly that looks can be deceiving. The pedicure was great, but it wasn't until I started getting a set put on my nails that things went downhill. The nail technician was rushing, and the nails came out uneven and thick. She cut them so short, and when I tried to point out that the dots didn't match the inspo picture, she huffed and puffed about it. She didn't cut or push back my cuticles, and my nails ended up looking absolutely atrocious. She was very rude, and the entire experience was horrible. I didn't get a picture of them bc one they weren't picture worthy and two I was at the next nail salon with in 5 min. So I made it to Escape Nail Salon and had the set soaked off. I opted for a gel manicure in the color Red Mars by DnD--the exact shade I had originally asked for during my pedi at Golden Nails. However, I noticed the color on my toes didn't match because Golden Nails had used the wrong color. In total, I ended up spending $225 that day. I forgot to mention that when I was getting the set soaked off at Escape Nail Salon It took a good hour and half bc of how gooey and gummy my nails were from the acrylic they used @ golden nails. read more

I had acrylics. I went in to fix 2 broken nails, get a fill, and change the color. I don't know where the miscommunication happened. When I sat down he asked me again what I was there for and I told him the same thing I told the guy at the front desk. No big deal. Problem #1 My two broken acrylic nails were never fixed. Problem #2 He tried to say I asked for acrylic nails with powder tips which is nuts, too much work, and I didn't even know that was a thing. I never asked for this. I felt like they were trying to Upcharge me for a service I never asked for. Problem#3 Because my broken nails weren't fixed he had to seriously shorten ALL of my nails. What's even the point of getting my nails done if they're gonna be shorted that much. I was so mad at this point that I just gave up. I wanted to just get up and leave but I just don't want to be that rude customer. It's a lose lose situation. My nails took forever. They were so thick and looked awful compared to when I first came in. You can see the old acrylic underneath the new one. It was not worth it It cost me about $70 which is just bs. I used to love this place, not so much anymore. The prices continue to increase for sub par service. I just got the worst French Manicure I have ever had. I told my technician that my pointer finger was crooked multiple times and she blamed my finger, when it's obvious it's the acrylic nail. She did not fix the nail just continued to file it the opposite direction. Also, you can noticeably see white lines bubbled up where she used the thin polish tool between the pink/white tips. The paint job on these white tips is super sloppy. This acrylic French cost me $75! I'm honestly embarrassed to go out in public with these ugly nails! It was most definitely not worth $75. I will be going elsewhere to get my crooked nail fixed and get polish on this disastrous nail job ASAP. I will not be returning to Golden Nails, nor do I recommend Golden Nails. read more

I have had multiple appointments with Michelle, and she is very kind and does a great job with acrylic nails! I just went in for a last minute appointment, so I had to book with Tina, and she was amazing as well!! I got my acrylics taken off because I wanted a break, and she gave me a gel manicure that is flawless! They both check in with you throughout the appointment to make sure you're happy, and Michelle has given me some great advice on color choice when I'm indecisive! My only fret is the pedicure (classic) I got the skin / Clausius removed and they didn't use anything to soften my skin. The side of my foot is raw, I don't think the manicurist was paying attention. So it's a bit painful, I suppose that can happen anywhere tho. My wait was 10 minutes for a pedicure and manicure with no appointment. They do accept appointments through their website and over the phone. I've been coming exclusively to Golden Nails for about six years and exclusively have Jenny do my nails now for three+ years. Amazing color selection, type of manicure and pedicure selection. Clean, always nice music on that isn't too loud. Well ventilated and it's owned by a local family so I like to support. I refuse to go anywhere else unless I am traveling! They recently started taking deposits for appointments due to their high demand and are now closed on Sundays. I don't mind. I have been coming to this salon for years since I first moved to Austin in 2013. I have been coming to see Ashley (who is also the salon owner) more recently who I have usually been very happy with, however I came in on September 17th to get a full set and she was out of town, so they had another staff member do my nails this time. I had a full set done with chrome topping, which is usually the same exact service I do every time I come in. On the evening of September 25th, while in Houston on a business trip, I had one nail pop off which was only 7 days after having the initial service done. From that day on, I had several more start popping off and unfortunately had to go purchase nail glue to reattach them myself. I did not return to Austin until yesterday from my business trip and came in as soon as I could today to respectfully discuss the issue and talk to the owner. Ashley tried to tell me they only honor redos within 7 days and that it's been "over three weeks so it's time to get them redone". It has not been OVER 3 weeks and I told her they started coming off ON day 7, which was within the 7 day policy she mentioned. She then stormed off in the middle of me calmly speaking to her, which was also very disrespectful and disappointing given that I've always had a good rapport with her. I am normally not one to complain or write a negative review, but I paid nearly $100 for this service (which is already incredibly expensive for a full set) and it lasted only one week... The chrome that was done by the other gal who did my nails was also more glittery than it was the usual mirrored chrome look that I've had done in previous visits. I've given this salon thousands and thousands of dollars over the years and honestly would have continued coming here had they not treated me so poorly when an issue had arose. I'm very disappointed in how this was handled and that Ashley chose to lose a long-term paying client over simply working with me to resolve the issue. read more
