This places it in the rolling, beautiful, peaceful, lovely foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range (gold country). I've stayed at this lovely hotel many times and had dinner at their (also fantastic) sister restaurant, Taste (same block). Rest has a nice happy hour in the lobby area with circular seating and a fire where they serve free (really good) wine for guests, who can socialize and relax before dinner or turning-in. I've met quite a few nice folks there and the majority are touring the 40+ wineries in the area (really nice wineries like Turley, Helwig, Andis, Terra d'Oro, Iron Hub and so many more). They serve many of the wines from the area, which is known for old-vine Zinfandel, Barbera, Rhône varietals (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre) and lots of small, family-owned wineries rather than the big guys in Napa and Sonoma. Different vibe. You can also visit historic Gold Country sites in and around the hotel, which makes for some interesting side trips. It's also just gorgeous to drive around. Lots of farm-to-table restaurants and other attractions. I love this area. This is also HORSE COUNTRY. There are many horse properties, horse trainers, coaches in every discipline, ranches and close-by is the legendary Murieta Equestrian Center if you're interested in competitions and shows (reining, ranch riding, cutting, western pleasure, sorting/penning, versatility, dressage, hunter/jumper, and such). Fabulous venue for horses. All of this glorious activity can be accessed from this beautiful, humble, delightful little boutique hotel.

Perfectly Peaceful…read more My husband and I recently spent several days at GRI. From the first glimpse of this Tuscany-like villa, we knew we were in for an incredible experience. Our suite (one of five) was absolutely stunning. The Innkeeper (the first of three amazing Innkeepers) had the gas fireplace lit, and wonderful instrumental music playing, as she showed us our suite. The food was phenomenal: gourmet breakfasts, 5:00 wine and cheese, and homemade cookies in the evening. My favorite part was the patio with a fire pit overlooking the vineyard. It is difficult to find such peace and serenity anywhere. Aah... We anticipate return visits

From the linens to the décor, super luxurious accommodations set amongst acres of vineyards, each suite with it's own private deck overlooking Tuscany-style views in the heart of Amador wine country. Our host, Linda, made an incredible stay that much more homey. Each morning's breakfast was a feast, seated outside on the covered patio with stunning views. The meals were uber fresh (filling enough that we skipped lunch both days!). Every day around 5 you're treated to wine and cheese. Perfect location to wine taste on property or venture out to the growing number of top rated wineries. Walk amongst the vineyards or take out one the beach cruisers or trikes for a ride around. At night, the fire pits are a nice touch, or just lounge on you private deck for a sunset and a moonset. Looking forward to our return!

We checked in after 6pm, so check in instructions were texted to us. Easy to follow. Was easy to find. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

David and Karen, the owners, are so sweet and welcoming. The inn is dog friendly, as there is a fully functioning outdoor patio area you can eat meals at. There's also a fire pit that's gorgeous at night, and plenty of bird feeders. If you enjoy birdwatching, this is the place as there are a variety of different feathered visitors that come by this naturally beautiful retreat. If you're looking for a peaceful, romantic, and memorable retreat, Eden Vale Inn is your place! Would definitely recommend.

Hate to be the first reviewer and give this kind of review. Despite positive reviews over on Trip…read moreAdvisor, I cannot, in good faith, provide the same. First, let me say that this is advertised as a bed and breakfast. It passes the test on the breakfast part. It failed on the bed, the room and other things. Second, let me say that my lady and I enjoyed Sandy Sanders, the proprietor. She is a nice person who tries her best. She makes a huge effort to stay out of the way of the lodgers, but is there with the coffee at your room door at 7 am, breakfast at 9 am and snacks and wine at 5 pm. Her cat, Ceecee, travels with her and is very friendly. Now for the downside. There are two rooms of the seven that advertise that they have king size beds. That is partially true. They have king size mattresses and bed springs sitting on top queen size frames. Here is proof from their website showing that this leaves about a foot on either side of the frame for the king mattress to hang over. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/plymouth-house-inn-plymouth?select=gCe49RtJDvu0pM0QN6KMdw#gCe49RtJDvu0pM0QN6KMdw That creates a number of problems. There is a hill in the middle of the bed which pushes you to the edge where because of the slope near the edge, you slide off faster. It makes for a BAD night of sleep. Having king beds on queen frames is just wrong and bad for people like us who paid for a king bed. The leather couch in the Garden Suite is so worn out, the cushions barely support their own weight. One can sink fast when sitting and getting up can require effort. The rear of the property has a nice wooden deck, but the amount of rust, dirt, mold and mildew on the furniture makes it undesirable. French doors from the Garden Suite open out to that area, but it is not an advantage with the outdoor furniture in such sad shape. The photos on the website must have been taken at a much earlier time in the history of the place. It shows a beautifully painted carousel next to the house. What is there now is faded and dirty - kind of scary. The property needs a paint job and there are things that just detract from the property like a rusting tricycle on the deck. The house is full of antiques. That is a nice idea, but taken to the point that the entire house is cluttered with old knicknacks and strange items from the past, does not make it a better place to stay, just a cluttered place to stay. People need places to put their travel belongings when they are travelling. We used the floor and had to move lots of pillows and other clutter to find space above that. This establishment does not earn the cost of the room. You would be better served staying at the Shenandoah Inn (motel), one of the winery B&B or staying in Drytown or Amador City. Having a 5 star review from a person 2 miles away in Fiddletown smells of pimping fake reviews. Yelp only works when reviewers actually stay at a place rather than be buds with the owner.
