This is one of those places that sticks to what it knows, and does it well. The shop is small, worn down from foot traffic with signs of spilt ice cream here and there, along with some old tables. Residual artifacts from Mom and Dad handing there child their first ice-cream. Only moments later to watch it go splat from giggles of excitement. So walk in, get on line, and study the flavor board. Then hover over the glass to confirm your selection. The cones are made there on site. The ice-cream is locally made, and they even have a flavor for your pet(s). Instead of focusing on the shop decor they focus on the ice-cream. Usually served by a local dilligent youngster trying to figure out there future carrier path. So be nice, have patience, and enjoy. Stop in after a meal or a quick snack if just exploring the town. It is a a short pleasant walk for a nice treat. Oh before I forget to mention it: yes, it is good! The ice cream was good. We went three days in a row. The customer service was excellent. I was overcharged during one visit, and it was immediately remedied with a free coupon. There was a line out the door each day, for good reason! Don't be put off by the line, those girls are efficient. My only complaint is the music could be a tiny bit quieter. This was some of the best ice cream I've had... I sampled the huckleberry flavor(and was sold) and the cinnamon and honey flavor which was delicious but I saw "cupcake" on the board and had to. So I got a scoop of cupcake and a scoop of huckleberry. And they both were SO AMAZING. You can taste the quality and craft put into this ice cream. And the price wasn't terrible either. For 2 scoops I paid just under $5. Definitely going to try to make another trip to sweet peaks while I'm in town. read more

Exceptionally good; even though they were extremely busy and overwhelmed, they kept their smiles and positive attitudes. I was hooked by the smell of cinnamon waffle cones as I was walking down the street. There was no denying it. I had to go in and when I entered, it was the longest line for ice cream I have ever seen. After I purchased the chocolate and brownie bomb ice cream, I found out why the line was so long. I came through to Whitefish to stalk Johnny Depp to no avail! Apparently, he only shows up during ski season. Just kidding--I was visiting my brother in Kalispell and one of the closest places to visit on my final day in Montana was Whitefish. After meandering around the town for awhile, I could smell pancakes or maybe it was waffles? WRONG. Waffle cones. My bro pointed out the place where that sweet smell was coming from and so we found ourselves drifting into Sweet Peaks. It was perfect. Homemade ice cream and waffle cones. The girl working there was an absolute dream--I wish I could remember her name because she was super adorable and accommodating to my taste testing of about five or more flavors (pumpkin, vanilla, salted caramel, and two weird flavors I can't recall). I settled on Huckleberry. I don't know much about Montana, but it seems to me that huckleberry flavored anything is something y'all really like to beef up (tea, coffee, pancakes, smoothies, candles, hand lotion, EVERYTHING HAS THE HUCK). I gotta say that I'm glad Montana folks do this because it was by far one of the best berry flavor-filled ice creams I have had. Not only this, but I got that huckleberry all wrapped and crammed into a sugar waffle cone. Natural tasting, creamy, and I get the feeling they make it with love. Really, you should go here. Like, hurry the heck up. It's the most amazing ice cream! Amazing flavors you'll not find many places like cardamom and rhubarb sorbet, plus the ubiquitous (in these parts) huckleberry. The best part is that their prices are really reasonable. Sure, its more expensive than DQ, but in comparison to hooty snooty ice cream places you'll pay about half of the hooty snooty prices. My fave: salted caramel. Oh! We were so excited to have another opportunity out West to try some huckleberry ice cream, as we don't have the huckleberry 'round our parts. Unfortunately, I have to say that I was incredibly disappointed. The last time I had huckleberry ice cream, it was a vanilla with copious chunks of real huckleberry - a nice contrast of rich sweetness with the natural tartness of the berry. This was an plain, smooth, bluish ice cream that was not terribly creamy and cloyingly sweet - to be honest it felt like it could have been any berry, since the sweetener was the overwhelming flavor. My girlfriend tried a blood orange and beet sorbet and was underwhelmed as well - didn't get any hint of beet from it, so it ultimately came off as too sweet and orange-y. Seems like a cute shop and concept, but if I'm going to fatten up on dessert, I want it to be excellent, and this fell way short. read more

Wonderful place great staff, great ice cream and it's a cute little place. Everything is set up very well, when it gets busy they seem to handle it very well. I have been to the whitefish location many times and have always had a great experience, but lately there has been this little red head girl that tends to have a little attitude. 3.5 actually. The place is super cute--and the employee working that night was very patient with all of us asking to try a kazillion flavors. They were sold out of the two I wanted to try the most, but what I did sample was just OK. My favorite was the huckleberry -which of course is a local flavor and stood out. A little disclaimer- SF has some of the best ice cream in the country. As does Boston. It is going to be hard to gain a spot in my top ten without some serious work. Pluses-- homemade waffle cones, the huckleberry ice cream and pumpkin chai. Needed work- the salted caramel was neither salty nor did it taste like caramelized sugar. The texture was not as creamy as I like, but I did enjoy that none of them were too sweet. Of course we will go back-- the only other options is frozen ice cream from Safeway. Yuck. read more

They have some very creative flavors as well although not all of them taste as good or as interesting as they sounded (I admit I had a number of tastes).
