After walking downtown Whitefish we decided to get an ice cream from Sweet Peakes. We have been enjoying Sweetpeaks ice-cream since 2011. They are a Montana family owned ice-cream cream shop with multiple locations. We each ordered Salted Caramel on a waffle cone. Salted Caramel is my favorite flavor, and Sweet Peaks is the best among all that I have enjoyed.

Had the bestttttt huckleberry ice cream here!!! I kept thinking about it during my entire trip. I ordered two scoops -- one huckleberry and one under the big sky. Both tasted great and worked well together. The shop is pretty spacious, and we didn't have any issues finding a table to enjoy our ice cream at. I loved all the unique flavors and would have loved to try more. The servers were also very friendly.

During our travels to Whitefish, we got Sweet Peaks Ice Cream again. Tried different flavors. Absolutely delicious!! Creamy and tasty. It's a little bigger than the one in Kalispell. Limited seating inside. A couple of picnic tables outside but I noticed some yellow jackets flying around outside. So, we ate inside. Very nice customer service. Flavors we tried: Salty Caramel Mountain Mint Wild Espresso Chocolate Love Salt Lick Sundae Minty Brownie Bliss Ice Cream Sandwich All definite MUST-TRYS!! Would get again! The Specialty flavors change. Homemade waffle cones. Vegan options. They are also part of the food trucks at Thirty Eight in Whitefish. They also have live music. We couldn't resist getting more Sweet Peaks Ice Cream. Very cute air streamer. We parked in a parking structure nearby and walked there.

After being unimpressed with the Missoula location the other night, we gave them another chance. Of course, it's basically the only ice cream shop in Whitefish, so we didn't have much choice. I ended up going with the River Float, which according to their website, sounds odd but really isn't: 'Lunch time on the river bank! Cornbread cooked dutch oven style with extra honey and butter and a fruity swirl of forest berry jam.' Flavors blended together perfectly, and I thought it was delicious. My wife went with the vanilla with sprinkles on top. Waffle cones were great as well.

This is surely one of my favorite ice cream shops I've ever been to. Next to Glacier National Park, this is what I miss most from Montana! Have to try River Float and Huckleberry. Can't do without those!!! We did not miss a night of Sweet Peaks our whole time in Whitefish!!

Good ice cream with fun flavors but not the best I had. I wish the ratio of ingredients to cream was higher and that it was thicker. The flavors are a little different than what you would find in a typical ice cream shop, but you can def still choose more typical flavors. Don't forget to ask for free sprinkles :)

Really good locally made ice cream! The huckleberry is gonna make you want to come back for more. The espresso is also very delectable. Free samples of the ice cream on request. The service is friendly!

I'm from out of state, so I'll likely never have Sweet Peaks Huckleberry Lemonade Sorbet again, and that brings me a deep sadness after one of the greatest joys of my life eating sorbet. If you're a local sure, enjoy your variety, I respect that, but don't deprive yourself of this masterpiece. If you're from out of town this is non debatable, get this flavor, your life will forever be changed. Other information: The 2 women running the busy show tonight were incredible. Not only were they fast and fluid, but they did it with great energy and made you feel welcomed in the rush of it all. There isn't really any seating, although you can certainly walk with it or find somewhere to sit nearby outside. Enjoy!

My favorite ice cream ever. I love to do split scoops (or sometimes double scoops if I'm being real lol) and try new flavor combinations every time. The permanent menu has vanilla, huckleberry, salted caramel, espresso, mint, cupcake, and chocolate with the tiny chocolate chips, and honey cinnamon. I've tried all of them and they're delicious. Their seasonal options are so good too. You can get sundaes- build your own or their menu options, root beer or coke floats, as well as dairy and gluten friendly options. I say gluten friendly instead of free because there are cones nearby, so there could be CC. But for what it's worth I'm celiac and pretty sensitive to CC and so far have not had any issues there, I just tell them I'm celiac and they get a scoop that hasn't touched a cone. I love that the whole staff is always great. Love seeing all teenagers running that place like a well oiled machine, and handling huuuge rushes without losing their cool- no matter how many "Karens" come through. So much cute merch too, including pint holders. The t-shirts are sooo soft, they have that worn in vintage tee feel. Every location I've been to has been great, but this one is exceptional.

This place has a long line, but I really wanted ice cream... I'm so glad I waited. The BEST pistachio ice cream I've ever had. I wish I could order this ice cream up to Minneapolis. And I appreciated how staff would come out and disinfect the hand rail every 15 min or so. Seriously, thank you yelp for pointing this place out, I still dream of my ice cream 6 weeks later. read more

Good set of unique flavors that felt precise and reflective of the Whitefish and west Montana area. The Cherry chocolate flavor was particularly impressive to me with a full cherry flavor, and the blue sky flavor with blueberry also was memorable. read more

Easily the best Salty Caramel ice cream I have ever had. Great in a waffle cone and has a great flavor and consistency. I love their style of ice cream because it's whipped well so it's doesn't fall apart in your mouth like more conventional ice cream like 31 Flavors. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try any of the other flavors because I liked this too much. I ate it 2 days in a row and my buddy 3 days in a row. I couldn't do the 3rd because I have Crohn's Disease so it was giving me the runs but it was worth it. Definitely recommend it and DEFINITELY a gem in Montana in the town of Whitefish. Surprisingly there is other on Main Street in Kalispell too! Wish we had these in California!!! read more

What a cute delicious ice cream spot. The staff here were extremely friendly and did a great job even with a long line of people waiting. The ice cream flavors are creative and delicious. I had the banana acai sorbet and the huckleberry ice cream. My husband got the honey bunny sundae and you best believe I took a bite: it was amazing. I love that they are dog friendly and have dog ice cream and popsicles on the menu. If you're an ice cream fan give this place a try. read more

My friend and I went here during our glacier trip and whelp we went twice it was sooo good! The staff are super nice and it was totally worth the wait in line! All of the flavors except the huckleberry pie is gluten free! The gluten free cone is delicious and amazing. The staff are careful to not cross contaminate. The flavors are absolutely incredible. I had the vanilla madagascar with salted caramel double scoop the first time and it was like $5. The second time I got a a split scoop which surprisingly seemed even bigger than the double scoop for only $4 and I got the cupcake and vanilla flavor again and it was even better! I highly recommend stopping in here. They even have dog treat/ice creams and sundaes (all are reasonably priced)! read more

The first thing my sister and I do in a new town when we're on vacation is search out the best ice cream joint. In Whitefish, Montana, that is Sweet Peaks. We looked in to one or two other shops before deciding on Sweet Peaks as our favorite. Whitefish may be small but it is a resort town, so ice cream shops abound the town, and our search was thorough. Upon entering Sweet Peaks, though - notably our last stop, as the best typically is - the smell of homemade waffle cones baking in the oven wafted through our noses and we knew we'd found the winner. We asked for huckleberry ice cream - the local flavor - and joyously took our homemade treats outside into the brisk 70 degree Montana summer. We both ended up with goosebumps by the end of our cones but it's safe to say that we'd be back several times over this next week even if it dropped down to 50. The ice cream was delicious but I have to say the mind-numbingly awesome part of the experience turned out to be the cone. It was buttery and crumbly and I gladly would have eaten it without any ice cream in it whatsoever. Even my mother, who avoids sweets, snatched a piece of cone that fell to the ground after a quick taste. Yes, the cones are so good that people will eat pieces of them off the ground. If you're ever in Whitefish - as unlikely as that may be - make a stop at Sweet Peaks. They don't take cash, but they're also pretty laid back if you only have credit cards - they'll just ask you to bring cash back when you get a chance. Seriously. Part of that trust comes from the Montanan way of life, I'm sure, but I think another big part is because they know the ice cream is SO GOOD that you'll have to come back for more anyway. read more

Smelled like cinnamon when walking in. Love the ice cream it is always delicious. Many wonderful and unique flavors such as Chocolate Zucchini and Oktoberfest made from local beer. Stopped in after lunch. As our daughter said: "3 stars is still delicious!". AMBIANCE: 3.5. For small kids: the two old refrigerator doors with magnetic letters would be fun and keep them occupied. Ignore the line. You will need time anyway to study and consider all the flavor choices. Go for the wacky special flavors. "Bear Skat". "Yeti Skat". Great and inventive combinations. Local Montana spot that needs to be tried if you're near one! There was a line out the door (good sign) when we walked up in Whitefish, but they kept things moving and we got through fairly quickly. They had a bunch of different flavors, but what prompted our visit was specifically Huckleberry ice cream! I'd never had it before so I was excited to try it. Totally didn't disappoint either! Great time at Sweet Peaks! Definitely stop in if you're nearby! read more

Oh my goodness. Delicious ice cream with interesting flavors, funny names and very good ice cream. We came here twice during our trip. Montana folk love their coffee. Why would I say this in an ice cream review?... because you need to get their specialty ice cream flavor that is espresso ice cream with bits of coffee nubs in it. Oh my goodness!!! You can only get this at their store locations. Any other place that sells their ice cream only sells their basic flavors. Prices are perfect for what you get. read more

Also they gave us an orange juice instead of the apple juice we requested. We lived with it, my toddler doesnt have meltdowns over that yet. Ambiance: simple cafe. Don't think it's handicap accessible. There are stairs to get down when you walk in the door. We left our stroller in the car. Overall we heard such amazing great things but it was relatively average for our experience! Maybe just the Sunday rainy morning we went. But for a $50-60 breakfast for 2.5 people we will not return during our trip.

Sweet Peaks is a welcoming ice cream shop. When you walk in you feel that they have special ice cream. It's definitely the fanciest ice cream I've ever seen. I just recently went for the first time. My step sister was dying for some ice cream on the hot weather. We were in downtown Whitefish, near the ice cream shop. We decided to go get some ice cream. I love ice cream, so much. my standards are high. I am not kidding. This is the best ice cream I have ever had. Not to mention, the people working behind the counter are always nice. The wait was well worth it. Naturally, the wait is longer in sunny days. I ordered the Mountain Mint chocolate chip ice cream. I got it in a sugar cone. Mountain Mint chocolate chip is minty ice cream filled with chocolate chip chunks. It is chilled perfectly. The texture is creamy and smooth, and the chocolatey mint flavor is perfectly balanced. My sister got a fan favorite: Chocolate Love. It's super chocolaty ice cream that many people enjoy. If you're looking for a good ice cream shop, go to Sweet Peaks! read more
