My suggestion is to order your coffee at the register to-go while you're waiting to be seated. It makes the time fly by! The cafe is cozy and welcoming. The decor is warm and celebrates coffee, a true highlight of the restaurant. Their pastries look inviting and truly decadent. The ladies behind the register and server at our table are all so pleasant and helpful. Our server, Mariana, was very knowledgeable of the menu and suggested options to us for specific food allergies. Mariana is kind, helpful, and really makes you feel taken care of. Their coffee beans have a perfect acidity and chocolatey note, making the coffee taste flavorful, rich, and smooth. Both coffee and espresso drinks are served to perfection. Their hot drip coffee is very smooth and may be one of the best coffees I've had. I also love the Maple Cinnamon Latte with almond milk. It is complex in flavor and perfectly sweetened to my liking. Sweet Pea's is popular for their pão de queijo, a Brazilian cheese bread, which is gluten free. It is the BEST pão de queijo I've tried. It's perfectly salty, buttery, and fluffy. Just wow. They have many options for sandwich fillings with this bread, both savory and sweet. The Old Farmer's Breakfast is a hearty dish. The scrambled eggs are fluffy and seasoned well. The bacon is crispy and makes the dish have the perfect balance of savory and sweet. The gluten free pancakes are flavorful but slightly drier than an average pancake, so do dunk them in a little maple syrup to give them that just-right texture. If you are gluten free, it is worthy to note that cross-contamination is possible from their pancake grill. The dish is so filling and recommended! Usually, I have no problem coming to this place. However, after today, I don't think I will be returning. Certain members of the staff were rude and unwelcoming, such as banging on the window when the food was ready because I was waiting outside for my order. Something differently that could've been done was taking three seconds out of one of the staff member's day to walk outside and give the food to the customer. Instead, her banging on the window felt rude and aggressive, and at that point, I no longer wanted to be there. Agree that it is a chaotic experience for the customer as it's hard to get a table, and there's no place to stand while you're waiting. Having a hostess would be super helpful. Employees do not know their menu whatsoever. The first thing I said before ordering was how severe my gluten allergy is because I have celiac disease. She told me they have gluten free bread so I ordered avocado toast. It wasn't until I was finished eating the first piece till i started to feel unwell. Long behold She gave me exactly what I am severely allergic to. What will be sending me into the hospital tonight or this week. This is a very poorly managed establishment. This place is fun! So many interesting breakfast and lunch items but also so many great classics. Very well balanced salads, but next time I would try breakfast because it looked so good. I hardly every dollar this because I always give benefit if doubt. However, this place exceeded all rudeness than anyone can expect from a restaurant. We dealt with two ladies that work there and they both had attitude. Once of them flat out lectured us on how we should not order from the front cashier and should order from a server. In a super rude way. Though we were very nice to her. When we asked for plates and forks to eat our meal (cause they never gave us ones) she just asked away and came back with only plates and no forks. Dropped both plates infront of me and walked away. The coffee was served in a dirty and sticky mug followed by pancakes which came out after a long 45 minute wait and had cold, raw batter inside. I ordered an açaí bowl without chocolate today since my stomach is sensitive to it. After a long wait my order ONLY had chocolate. I requested a change and when I got my order the container was slightly open so some of the acai fell out and created a mess. Outstanding!!! We hosted a brunch at our home and Sweet Pea's Cafe catered the event and delivered the food to our home. The food was absolutely delicious and the Sweet Pea's staff were all incredibly helpful and nice!!! The manager and team members helped us with creating an excellent menu of selections a few days in advance which were delivered in "family style" party trays for easy serving. Some of the excellent choices included the following: Savory & Sweets, Classic Avocado Toast, French Toast, Triple Stack Pancakes (Blueberry & Chocolate Chip), Ham, Egg & Cheese Croissants, and a delicious Burrata Salad. We absolutely recommend Sweet Pea's to anyone looking to entertain at their home and create a memorable event for all. If I were writing just on vibe, this place would definitely be worthy of another star. It was a great little restaurant on an old road. There were some cute tables outside and free WiFi posted on the wall. When we arrived we went to the counter to find out how things worked. The ladies behind the counter placing pastries was really sweet and the pastries were pastries. We then realized there was table service so we grabbed a seat and ordered with the waitress. I was impressed by the coffee, I had a really great latte. Sadly the food was just "A-OK". We got the ham cheese and egg croissant which was more than A-OK, it was delicious. We also ordered the "new unique" because I wanted to try this special bread that they advertise. Unfortunately the bread was a little heavy for me. The meal just came with a poached egg with the bacon and asparagus on the side. It was a little underwhelming. Both dishes also came with lots of salad which was sadly a little bland on the flavor. I spent most of my meal stealing bites of my friends croissant and trying to move the mound of salad around. I think my dish would have maybe been better to be stacked like a sandwich. The service wasn't anything to write home about. Unfortunately our waitress wasn't super attentive and we had to go inside for the check. This place could be 4 stars if we were blown away by service and both of us ordered the ham croissant, but the average service and okay food leads me to 3 stars. read more
