I met a friend here the other night for drinks and appetizers. We got there at 6pm and missed the happy hour which looked good. HH included $2 oysters, wines for $10 and a selection of cocktails. We ended up ordering a glass of Blanc de Blanc from the Finger Lakes ($16) for me and a hot toddy for my friend. We shared the baked kale and artichoke dip. The server was nice enough but I think she forgot to put in our appetizer order because it took too long to get to us and we had to ask her about it. The place is dark and cozy. Perfect for a rainy night. However, it was incredibly loud in the first hour we were there. Three people at the bar were talking and we could hear the din from where we were sitting. Not great acoustics! Once they left, the noise died down. A good standby but I'm not sure I would go back anytime soon.

What a friggin VIBE. Maybe I need to get out more but we were in the area for a show at Barclays and I looked up where to go afterwards on a few different platforms, and sweet Polly sounded like my vibe. It's this almost speak easy vibe behind big dark doors, you enter into a quaint space with small cocktail tables for seating and bar room. The cocktails were simply outrageous. Crafted to perfection with potion bottles used as finishers (yes potion bottles for their perfect witch craft making bartenders!) I think I enjoyed the bartenders work ethics as a concept the most. Sure the place was hitting the nail on the head for any speak easy, specialty cocktail seeking person's dream. But the fact that the bartenders were straight ripping through putting out eclectic drinks, with a smile on their face that was genuine was most impressive. I want to go back not just because I'm in the area. I'll go out of my way for this one. Nice job Sweet Polly!

This place has a cool vibe with high ceilings and lighting that makes it feel a bit like a fancy restaurant. The staff was super friendly, and even though I got there late to meet my friends during the dinner rush, they took care of me right away and got my order in quickly. The appetizers are affordable and perfect if you just want some light bites and drinks after work without going all-in on a full meal. We got the kale dip and the crostinis were a little oily, but I liked that they were freshly toasted and not stale like at some other places. I tried the "Feral Parrot" cocktail, and it was strong, and if you like gin cocktails this one would be the perfect choice, though, they could've gone easier on the crushed ice.

Make a reservation and save yourself the pain from waiting. The ambiance was casual and intimate. The food was flavorful. This drink was made without sugar. Everything is created on the spot. The bartender is a mixologist and creates based on mood and flavors. This is a must go to restaurant.

Perfect cocktail bar to go to before or after a show or concert at the Barclays Center. I've been here a few times and the customer service has always been great. Most recently had drinks made by Marquelle. Her hospitality was very warm and the cocktails she made were well crafted. She recommended an espresso martini with mezcal which surprised me how good it was.

Cozy cocktail bar, steps from Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn. The space is dimly lit and stylish, with an ornate tin ceiling, antique paintings, and creative $17-$20 cocktails. They also serve elegant light fare and snacks. I made a reservation for 6 people, one month in advance. My friends and I ran up an impressive tab over the course of an hour, and while the cocktails were hit and miss, we intended on staying. It was thus shocking to be informed that our "reservation time was up". I understand the place is small, but a time limit was never communicated when I made the reservation. Sweet Polly could be a fun place to stop for one (1) drink on your way somewhere else, but is not a place to take your time catching up with a date/friends.

Stopped in here after a Nets game for a couple of drinks. It's nice, dark and cute. Very small but the bartenders were great. I tried clams in a tin can and regretted it immediately lol. Doesn't hurt to try. We had the pleasure of keeping the bartenders Dad company, what a nice guy. Only 4 because, I mean this space is tightttttttttt.

Love this spot, especially during the happy hour! It has the most warm and intimate feel, with wood paneling and some interesting paintings on the walls. The cocktails are so unique as well. The Muchas Smoochies is my favorite of the happy hour specials, and the service is excellent to boot. A bit pricey outside of happy hour but the quality makes up for it.

Overall rating: 4.7 I've been here for so many times for dates, solo or with friends. I'm surprised I haven't been able to write a review! Selfishly I know I will be back so wanted to start rating my drink orders. 1. Hidden immunity 2. Espresso Martini 3. Negroni on tap East oysters are good and fresh. Wish drinks weren't so pricey, but I'll have to come back and try happy hour. Definitely recommend!

This is a quality bar/restaurant that would be a great meetup with friends on a weekend or happy hour on a Friday after work. The place is dim, cool, and stylish. They specialize in craft cocktails that fit a number of different profiles. The bartenders are humorous, attentive, and have solid conversation. The food was alright. A little pricey, but what isn't these days? I did like their take on a pesto mac and cheese. It wasn't great, but it works well if you're only a little hungry. The drinks are the real selling point. They gave a long menu and be sure to ask the bartenders to help you find the one that fits your tastes best.

Sweet Polly is one of my favorites and I think it's underrated. Ambiance is sleek, subtle and warm. The lighting is just right. The dark wooden door gives a discreet vibe. The drinks here are done so well. The menu seems to change just slightly, but if still in the rotation, the Starcourt Mall is an incredible Rye based tiki style drink. At a glance, the ingredients don't seem to mesh; grapefruit, coconut crème, mint, cinnamon. But wow, it's amazing. The Banshee boardwalk is a good choice if you're into Bourbon. But if you're looking to stick to the classics, they have a Negroni on tap and make a perfect dark Manhattan. Also, many bars haven't perfected marinated olives and some are just too salty. But the ones here are perfect and just the right portion.

My boyfriend and I frequently choose this spot for brunch. We have lived in the neighborhood for a little over two years and feel we've found a hidden gem. Amazing truffle butter scrambled eggs. We like to pair it with some granola to feel "healthy." The avocado toast is also damn good. The vibe is wonderful. Big open windows, wonderful artwork and a beautiful living plant wall. I'm hesitant to post this because I don't want the rest of brooklyn to crash our favorite spot. :) read more

Gorgeous bar/restaurant has an old school speakeasy vibe. The art on the walls will spark conversation if you have nothing to talk about with someone if it's a first date. The drinks are really good and the food portions are small yet delicious. I'd definitely go again. read more

So I've been here twice now. The first time was fine. The cocktails were pretty inventive and the food was ok. The second time I came back with my boyfriend. We waited a bit on some stools and ordered drinks while we waited to be seated at a larger table for food. No more than three tables opened and were taken by people just walking in without the staff stepping in to reseat us. By the time we're got to an actual table we were told that the kitchen was closed and that they couldn't make an exception for us even though we had been waiting for so long. I understand this is a small and busy place but I think they could step up their service. read more

Total fan of their drinks -- we had a Penicillin with tequila/mezcal instead of scotch, and a Do You Enjoy Jazz? Our bartender was nice, helpful, and let us sample sweet vermouth. Plus it's a cute and intimate spot. High marks. read more

Joined a friend here for drinks and had an okay time. The cocktails were waaaaay too sweet and the crudo I ate lacked any acidity. That said, we did enjoy one of said cocktails from a shark with a smoke cinnamon stick which looked amazing. The oysters were also pretty good. Wine was good, atmosphere was great, service was on point. In conclusion, smoking shark. read more

This place has real potential but they have to get their act together. First, their menu has two prices for wines by the glass. I didn't realize this and assumed that my glass of wine was $6. I'm no cheapo, and I ordered based on the recommendation of my server, not because it was the least expensive option on the menu. Now, it turns out that it's $6 for a 3 ounce pour and $9 for a 6 ounce pour. What?!? Who does that. This pricing scheme is not really a thing in NYC, and who the eff would ever order a 3 ounce pour of wine? I wouldn't have a single problem with the two options if the wait staff asked what size you wanted when you order (they don't), instead of automatically pouring the more costly pour. The fact that they don't ask just hints to me that the whole scheme is intended to rip people off. Sort of strange for a place trying to be upmarket. read more

My wife and I were in Brooklyn for the ACC Basketball Tournament and happened upon this great spot. It's a combination mixology bar, meats and cheeses, small plates, and oyster bar. They do it all well. Do not miss oyster happy hour, $1 oysters between 4 and 7 weekdays. read more

We came here for a cocktail to check out a new spot. We stayed because the service was personal and lovely. We were blown away by the creativity and execution behind the bar and I'm beside myself about the food. You'll come here, as you should, and enjoy many fine libations, as you should. But, the hidden gem at this "Cocktail Bar" is pure glory that is being plated from this extremely talented and seasoned kitchen. We had basically the whole food menu (except dessert) and we were so, so, so impressed dish after dish and we ordered more, more, and more. This place is the real deal on so many levels. Cozy cocktail bar on 6th, good music selection, with lighting and decor to match, perfect for a date night or casual cocktail. Has potential for 5 stars except the lack of personality from bartenders and not enough whiskey/scotch cocktail selection, however I'm sure that won't deter wine, gin and vodka drinkers... have at it! read more

Great ambience, amazing cocktails and wait staff. The Brussels salad and cheese board were damn tasty. The only downside is that it's kinda small so there are mostly bar stools to sit on, so I give it 4.5/5. I ordered the Martinez and #instragramodel drinks, both delicious, but I preferred the Martinez bc the IGM tasted more like a juice cleanse and less like a cocktail. Def a good date spot! read more

Sweet Polly is exactly what you want in a cocktail bar. Super cute, quaint, and delicious cocktails. I met a friend on a Saturday afternoon for cocktails. Everything down from the cocktails to the AH-MAZING roasted stuffed squid, I was sold on this place. My only beef with Sweet Polly was our server. Maybe it was her first day, or maybe she simply was a little frazzled from the early morning lunch rush. She was so confused. Everything we asked her, she needed to go back and ask someone else. I'm not one to stump servers, my questions are usually relatively simple. For example, I noticed their was a pop up on their website for Happy Hour. Upon our arrival, I asked if Happy Hour was valid on weekends. She replies "I don't know. Let me check." Ok, I'll give her a pass on that one. Then it was time to order our drinks, we asked for recommendations as it is our first time at the bar, still -- she was unable to give us a recommendation. It was pretty much a "everything is really good here." We didn't let that sour our time at Sweet Polly. Overall, it was such a dope spot. My roasted stuffed squid was mind blowing. Would highly recommend coming back and possibly sitting at the bar next time. read more

A little too full of itself - even for Park Slope. Friday night...5:15PM. About 50% full, i step up to the bar. Happy Hour in Progress. Hand crafted drink menu and some specials. Ordered the EL Diablo (not on special). Bartender measured the precise amount of alcohol for the drink. Not an eye dropper more. Filled the rest of the hi-ball glass with crushed ice. There was so little fluid in the drink, he needed to keep adding more and more ice - Boom $14.00. Vodka Martini -$14.00...no wait...actually a $3.00 surcharge to make it "dirty" - so $17.00. Huh? Let's see, a dirty martini should have about 2-3 tablespoons of olive juice. 2 tablespoons is 1 oz. So, $3.00 per oz of juice ??? C'mon Brooklyn !!! read more

Great decor and vibe at this classic, comfortable spot. The drinks are good (not amazing) but I will definitely be back. The food was a surprise. We had two orders of the brussels sprouts because they were that good. The tuna crudo and the oysters (though pricey) were slammin and the cheese plate was great as well. Look forward to trying more of the menu because whoever is working in the kitchen knows what's up! The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The tunes were nice - though a little Jazz now and then would be a welcome addition. Overall, great food and drinks (though a little pricey) and a clean decor. Came to Brooklyn for a concert and found this place…read more Fantastic. We got the burrata, which was delicious and very fresh. I had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, with grilled chicken, which didn't feel heavy at all and was absolutely delicious. The pork belly sandwich that my friend had was good, and he said that it had a spice to it that made it unique. We got a few rounds of the pigtail, and it was light refreshing and very summery. The wait staff was very friendly, and attentive.. and we sat out in the back and it was great. Would recommend if in the area!

My friend and I each order a cocktail, and are catching up. I'm from Brooklyn, however I no longer live here, and this was precious catch-up time with my friend. Then I get interrupted mid-sentence by the old-timer DJ from his low seat in a corner behind the bar. I had bumped the bar with my wrist (bumped my wrist watch as well, not deliberately) and then placed my hand down (granted- more than placed but definitely not slammed), and he decided to warn me that I COULD HAVE made his record skip. It was the Eagles or Santana (far from eclectic, but that's just me). I'm also 99% certain he turned the volume up afterwards, making it even harder to enjoy the company. After that interaction, I struggled to pick it back up with my friend, because I found that distraction very effing rude. When this "4th wall" gets broken down with service, it is hard to then enjoy the space in an uninhibited state. I am all for the Tokyo Vinyl Bar vibe, and I'm also for also giving talent an outlet to share their collection, but this interaction colored my experience, and I closed out after one drink and went elsewhere. I mentioned this to the bartender, and he was kind to offer a buy-back of a rare whiskey, which I did accept. 5 stars for the bartender, but 1 for my experience. I don't like to be harsh or unnecessarily cruel, but this is what it is. I have visited in the past and enjoyed myself. Nonetheless, I certainly won't be coming back.

I've made it a point to visit every vinyl listening bar that I learn of in town, after enjoying the shared experience of someone curating a select vinyl list in intimate spaces in Tokyo. Few have been able to replicate the experience, but Honeycomb Hi Fi Lounge comes close. That the space is narrow with just a few seats along the bar and a few tables mimics the Japanese experience best, where you can almost have it so the whole room is having one conversation together. The music is the focus. The cocktail menu is rather simple, and my Stormbringer drink, with dark rum and ginger beer was not anything to write home about, but $15 is pretty low for cocktails these days so I'll take it. If they introduced new cocktails to the menu with more interesting ingredients I'd be more inclined to return, but the vibes overall are pretty good and the staff really nice.
