I found the duck and sausage gumbo to be incredible. The spice was perfect, for my taste, and I'd order it again in an instant. I also enjoyed the empanadas - they reminded me of Jamaican beef patties, and I really enjoyed them. Their preparation of red snapper was perfect, in my opinion. Their draft options are limited, but the staff was very helpful in choosing other drinks. They had two different bartenders in my visits, and I believe both tried very hard to make me happy, even though I was just a random walk-in. They had quite a few locals who got to-go orders during my visits, and everyone seemed very happy with their food. Desserts are all homemade, and are good, and very large, even if not what I would traditionally call by the same name. Bread pudding was outstanding, but the cannoli was closer to what I would call a creme horn. In all, I would certainly return, and strongly recommend the duck/sausage gumbo. I'm

The grass was high and the landscape beds were full of weeds. There was no "open" sign on the outside of the building. I walked in and the place was empty other than a lady who greeted me and sat me at a table. The floor was dirty and felt greasy. The menu she handed me felt dirty also. She was friendly, and asked what I'd like to drink. I ordered a water and a cup of seafood gumbo and a butterfly fried shrimp plate with fried okra and red beans and rice. She brought out the gumbo, but with no crackers, then disappeared. I got up to look for her with no luck. So I waited. The next time I saw her she was carrying out my shrimp platter. I asked her for crackers and she immediately retrieved some. She asked if I needed anything else, and I said no. The shrimp tasted fresh like it had come from the gulf. I asked her the shrimps country of origin and she went to ask the chef. She came back out and said it was gulf shrimp, which I could tell. The gumbo was very good, but a cup wasn't worth the $8.99 I paid for it. The okra was just frozen breaded okra. The hushpuppies were thick and heavy, not very good. The red beans and rice was tasty and made with alot of sausage in it. Small portion. During the meal I asked to see a menu again, and again it felt greasy and dirty. I ordered the appetizer crab cakes. When they came out, they looked bulky and the outside was hard. I'd say they were from a frozen bag and deep fried. I took one bite and it did not taste good, so I didn't eat them. I ordered the bread pudding for dessert and was disappointed. It was thick and hard, and not very good as bread puddings go. It certainly wasn't made recently. All in all I was disappointed with my meal and experience. I'd eaten at a Winzells Oyster house in Guntersville, AL before (delicious) and it just seemed like this Greenville, AL location was subpar in store presentation and cleanliness, food quality, and service. I would not recommend it unless positive changes were made across the board. My total cost was $60.98. I've included some photos.

Let me explain... The Great - The price for all you can eat is a great value The Good - uh.......The crab was really good... there wasn't anything else good The Bad - The service The Ugly - The service I try not to write dissertations, but let me explain! The young server (found out this was the "boss's daughter" started off on all the things we COULDN'T do with all you can eat. While trying to order cocktails she told us she tries to stay away from people who drink. Waited about 20 minutes for 3 mixed cocktails and my beer. While waiting for my beer, I was watching the bartender and crew pour beer back and forth from one mug to another. They brought it out to me - said "blue moon", I took a drink and it was NOT what they said. What were they doing to the beer back there? While ordering, the server's cell phone started ringing. She said "excuse me, I have to take this" and walks away from us. At the end of our meal, our server had disappeared. Eventually we asked another server for our check. She mentioned that our server left. We were speechless.

Our waitress asked for our drink order, some of us said we weren't ready. One person in my party asked for a Jack and Pepsi. She didn't know what Jack was (which was ok, until), to which she responded "oh". We enlightened her, then she said, "I try to keep away from those type of people" (people who drink). Then she says, "I'll just go get you waters." When she returns we place our drink orders, two margs, a Diet Pepsi, a blue moon, and the Jack snd Pepsi. We were confused when a glass of Pepsi showed up to the table for the Jack and Pepsi. We explained please tell the bartender a Jack and Pepsi, they will know what to do. The other drinks didn't come for a long time, so we sent someone in our party to inquire about them. They were forgotten. The beer that was brought to the table was wrong. Our party agreed that it was unfortunate more attention wasn't paid to the bar because we would have ordered more. While we were ordering a phone started ringing, and it was the phone in our waitress's pocket. She cuts my husband off in the middle of his order and says oh I've got yo get this and walks away. I can say say that was a first for me. The food came out and it was great. No complaints there. We had to ask for the refills of Pepsi and for our table to be bused. Our waitress verified our split checks and that was the last we saw of her. She left without giving us our bill or saying anything. We were just sitting and waiting. We eventually paid our bill. The "boss's daughter" left a first impression that is and will be unforgettable.

(I recommend doing that, especially during lunch.) One of my good friends sent recommendations. My husband got the French dip. I hesitate calling it a poboy because I'm from NOLA, and outside south Louisiana, it's just a sandwich . I got the grilled shrimp lunch special with fries. Honestly, spend a little more and get the platter. I'd get them fried, but I can't have gluten. I risked cross contamination and got the fries. They were absolutely worth it. Fortunately, I didn't have a reaction. Trevor was our server, and he was excellent. You could tell he knew the regulars and locals based on how he'd approach new diners. He also gave really good recommendations. The vegetable of the day was a casserole, and Trevor told my husband that was better than the fries. My husband inhaled that casserole. If you're an Elvis fan, request to sit at the table. Overall, I'd definitely come back. For being on Open Table, just know this is a casual restaurant on the bay. Nothing frilly - just good, southern cooking. We will be back!

The chargrilled oysters unfortunately came with quite a bit of shell, which made them difficult to enjoy--though we did manage to find some actual pearl in there, so small win and fun! The grilled fish and shrimp were noticeably overcooked, and my husband's fried shrimp leaned the same way, lacking that fresh, tender bite you hope for. Sides were decent but didn't particularly stand out for my grilled dinner. Husband said slaw and hush puppies were good, my green beans were delicious. Overall, it's a lovely place with great service, but the kitchen execution didn't quite match the setting. With a few tweaks, this could easily be a standout spot.
