I was hoping to get some cake, but they didn't have any slices. I picked up the cinnamon looking thing to try, unfortunately it was a bit too dry and hard. Not worth it Didn't spend too long to comment about service and ambiance but it's a nice quiet cafe, almost walked right past it.

Both are great choices, especially the Boxed Red Velvet Cake. (March 2023)

Decided to check out this cute cafe and some of their offerings. Note that if you're looking for parking, you can do so at the gravel lot that's a little up the way from the cafe. The cafe itself is pretty small and their selection isn't too numerous. However, what they do have seems made with care and everything looks delicious. I decided to try their popular Ube Bun with Cream Cheese Filling and their Boxed Red Velvet Cake. I had never tried anything with ube before, but had heard really good things about this bun. The bun itself is very big, with the outside having a nice bite to it while the inside is filled with ube flavored cream cheese. I would describe ube as tasting a bit like vanilla/taro mixed together. I wish there had been a bit more filling inside, but it was a good bun overall. I really liked the Boxed Red Velvet Cake, especially the richness of the cream cheese filling. I couldn't really taste the kalamansi puree (which is supposed to have a lime-like flavor?), but the cake itself was still very yummy and well made. The service was friendly and I do encourage anyone in the area to check out this new little cafe. The prices will be more expensive than a chain cafe, but I think it's worth it considering the quality and care they obviously put into their food. They have some original offerings and it would be nice to support this neighborhood small business.

This is a very loved cafe - it was busy and definitely full of great meet ups, lunches, to go…read moretreats and study sessions. There is an amazing amount of seating inside and outside and has a wheelchair/baby stroller friendly entrance but there are still steps from the two levels so be aware if you're heading there. The food was great and we ordered a sandwich, breakfast sandwich and scramble (with of course, some sweet treats!!). You order at the front and then they give you a number and you find seating. The kitchen was definitely busy bringing over dishes and baked goods. The food was good and the chocolate chip cookie was the fan favourite amongst my group. The sandwich was good and came with chips. Scramble was also good but nothing particular to write home about, would be nice if it came with a piece of toast! I had a lovely time meeting up with a friend here and I can't wait to try their restaurant a street over!

Really enjoyed my French Onion Soup ($15 I think), also ordered sourdough bread on the side which came toasted and lightly buttered! Side of bread cost a few dollars more. French onion soup was delicious, nice and cheesy with soaked through bread inside. Flat white was good too. I didn't like their cinnamon twist pastry though, very little cinnamon sugar and it wasn't really flaky. Staff were friendly and decently quick on service. Bustle cafe at 9:30am on a Sunday. A bit difficult to find at Fort Langley as always, but it's worth checking this place out!

This "blink and you miss it" storefront is about a block away from the beaten Fraser Highway track…read more(the one-way section with all the cute little storefront and cafes), but the slight detour is more than worth it. Armed with a coupon in hand, I was immediately struck with the cute decor and range of non-food products for sale from local vendors. (Think soaps, clothes and accessories to name a few). A fair amount of tables and chairs that all looked like personalized vintage chic. No repeats as far as I could tell, yet the mix of tables and chairs seemed to all match. Everything on the menu looked great but I decided to treat myself with a small granola, yogurt and fruit. (Had just come from a gym workout so I was trying to continue with the healthy theme). Came to a nice portion/layer of granola, slightly sweetened plain yogurt, and as much sliced bananas and grape halves as you can layer on top. Not to sweet, even with the added fructose. Next time I may be tempted to try a meatier option like a breakfast wrap or a sandwich. Pro-Tip: Unlike most other cafe's I've come across, they have a sign actually asking patrons to leave their used dishes and utensils on the table itself. I suspect this act is to let the ladies know which tables are in need of a clean wipe-down; they do this religiously after each customer leaves. It felt a little odd at first, but I think it's a unique way to ensure every customer sits down to a clean table. I know I always hate it when I find an empty spot only to find someone else's breadcrumbs were accidentally left behind.

First off, the service is kind and helpful. He gave me a good chuckle this morning. Food was yummy and prices were decent for these times. They have lots of seats inside but we're all taken so I sat at a covered table outside and watched people go by. Excellent Oat Cafe Late.
