We ordered Thai takeout on a Sunday evening since our regular place was closed. Chicken Pad Thai and Crispy Chicken Fried Rice. Food was underwhelming. Too sweet, fried rice tasted like fish sauce, pad Thai smelled like fish sauce. Crispy chicken was good. Flavors were just too simple and overall too sweet. The Japanese side of the menu might be fine but we've not tried it. Will not be ordering Thai from here in the future. read more

I called them to get another order or get a credit but they refused and yelled at me. I asked for the owner and he said he's the owner and there's nothing they can do. I am crying tears of sadness for not trying this place sooner, despite it being just a half mile from me, and tears of joy for finally having found it. -The sweet potato sushi is the best I have ever had. It's not cheap (8$ for 8) but it's not exactly *insane* either, considering it is sushi. Their drunken noodles are really tasty-- definitely my favorite in Boston thus far. They have a nice spice level and are very savory (I hate places where they make them sweet). There also is a solid quantity of vegetables and tofu, they do not scrimp on the toppings. I also like their rolls. I wish they had more exciting/complex vegetarian maki rolls, but you can request that they make you one. This is my new go to spot when I want to have a little me time after work. This is a small gem I believe that just opened up. I usually get emails of open businesses to try out and this was one of them. I walked in and was immediately seated. There weren't many customers as they just opened for their second shift. I decided to order a glass of Pinot Grigio along with a Shrimp Tempura. Very good!!! I get full fairly quick but I downed every single roll ya'll! Talk about tasty and filling. It was Sunday 1:30 PM, I ordered Crispy Chicken Basil. The portion looked large; there was more crispy breading than chicken, but the meal was very tasty. I thought the bill was high, but I didn't check the menu, and just paid it. Later when I checked the menu on line, I realized that they charged me for a dinner. I called to ask why they charged for a dinner at a 1:30 meal. Answer: they charge for only dinner on Sundays. The served didn't tell me that, nor was that info published in the menu. 1.5 hours after I left the restaurant, I felt something stuck in my throat. I upchucked the entire meal, and now there is still something stuck there. I called the restaurant to inform them that the dish was harmful. Response: what do you want us to do? Stopped by on my first visit and left pretty content by the end of my meal. I love how this place has sushi and Thai options and although a little limited, it has a pretty good selection of wine and beer. My friend and I tried the "sushi bomb" which was a pretty big portion and was my favorite entrée thus far, we also got the crispy duck, chicken typhoon and the berry crab Rangoon-duck was okay but luckily the other plates were delicious. I order from here whenever I need to cater an event. The portions are generous, prices are fair, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Most recently, I hosted about 25 people and got a large vegetable pad Thai, small rice, large chicken panang curry, small chicken snow peas, small broccoli tofu, and small cream cheese Rangoon, and it was more than enough for our group. They were even kind enough to accommodate a nut allergy and remove all nuts from the order. Pick up was easy to arrange, and everyone at the event had full stomachs and left happy. This is a great addition to JP Centre. They've got sushi and other Japanese staples, and a nice selection of traditional Thai food. There's a sushi bar seating area with no line, typically, but if you want a table, better make a reservation! The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Food came out fast and tasted great. I appreciate that SR did not over sweeten their dishes(the ones I ordered did not, though that "duck" sauce that came w the veg rolls? waste of plastic and sugar in my opinion. the peanut one was fine), nor did they over fry the rice (as rice is best when accompanied with simplicity. hence why we did not try the mango/pineapple version which made me cringe a little) Ill leave my review of their Japanese menu for another day, but pre covid, I do recall their maki visual presentations being above avg. *Covid takeout worthy? Our scorpion soft shell crab roll was $12 and while it over-indexed on rice just the slightest bit, it was a LARGE roll and also filled with nice, crunchy crab. 0.5 star - taste was a-ok, nothing mind-blowing. I think Soup Shack has better noodle soups to be honest...my khao soi was a bit too sweet and not as spicy or flavorful as I like it. My partner's duck noodle soup was too salty, and her noodles were a bit clumpy, and we both agreed the scorpion roll was under-salted such that we actually needed to dunk it in soy sauce. 0.5 star - innovation. We were worried with such a large menu that the food wouldn't be executed well but each different type of cuisine is excellent. This is our go to for sushi and Thai food. They are consistent and fast. Our favorites are the chicken Thai basil fried rice (generous portion), crab rangoon (totally worth it, yes we are basic), and salads. Their specialty rolls are super expensive but delicious (our fave is the sweetheart roll) and come with a lot of food. Even their basic rolls are great. The fish and ingredients in the rolls taste really fresh. Looks very cool inside but obviously we have only done take out with COVID. They seem to be doing well and are fast and efficient with orders. read more

As one of the few Thai restaurants in JP, I've gone back several times with much the same result: a good-enough meal. They have reasonably priced lunch and dinner specials within an especially wide menu selection. The staff also seems knowledgeable about food allergies and can provide guidance on what is gluten free. (I give them points for that as someone who has an allergy). Excellent addition to JP. They have the Thai and sushi classics you expect, with some extra goodies that you don't often find, and everything is fresh and well-prepared in a bright and happy (although small) space with attentive service. We got the Thai pancake as an app, which reminds me of a very green-tasting tofu triangles, with a crispy exterior and glatenous interior riddled with scallions and paired with a sweet-and-sour-esque dipping sauce- unique and tasty. To sample from their Japanese menu, we also tried the tempura sweet potato roll, which while pricy for $8, hit the spot. My Pad Thai was large, fragrant, and flavorful, and the noodles had been cut/made to be only a few inches long each which actually made it easier to eat. The Drunken Noodles had a mild spice to them, and were loaded up chock-full of crispy chicken- for many of their dishes here, you have the choice of so many proteins (even soft-shell crab) so you can get whatever tickles your fancy. And they have a small but competent drink list (beer/wine/sake) Definitely the spot for Thai in the area- Sweet Rice is definitely now on our regular rotation. read more

We have been there twice and the sushi is subpar. The main differentiation in their sushi is that the rice is sweet. If you do not like this, you may not like their sushi. I got the pad Paradise dish, which was a little spicy and pretty oily toward the end. Good portions, but most dishes do not come with rice or noodles for dinner only. They also have different prices for lunch and dinner. The spring rolls were okay, they are frightened come with sweet and sour sauce rather than peanut sauce. Avocado rolls were okay.
