Cashed in on a TGTG deal and got to try 5 varied cupcakes. I had bites of a basic chocolate and a strawberry filled vanilla cupcake. Both were excellent! The cake portion itself was very soft and not too sweet. I'm usually not a fan of frosting, but theirs was very good. The cupcakes themselves were beautifully decorated. If paying full price, the cupcakes are a bit small. I'm definitely curious to try their other flavors. It's worth a taste if you are a cupcake aficionado!

I can only review what I had to work with and that's 1 cupcake I tried. My first time here, I've seen a lot of people go in and so it seems popular. However, I chose the peach cupcake? Had a compote filling, light cake and a light fluffy whip on top with a slice of peach. I'd give it a 3. The employee told me that I chose "an award winning cupcake" as a first choice... I was expecting a sweeter taste. It had this medium-bitter undertone. I would've loved if it were sweet and had more tartness. Reminds me of a peach that you eat when you get too close to the center? The frosting was nice and light. I think that was nailed. The cake toward the center became a bit dense. I wouldn't buy this one again. I might give it a second shot and order something else for comparison. Super cute shop and very cleanly! The employee was very friendly.

I've been here numerous times, and I almost always get the dulce de leche churro or a chocolate/nutella/pb cupcake. I'm never disappointed. All the cupcakes are so pretty, and most of the ones I've tried have a lovely surprise in the middle. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. My kids enjoy the cake pops.

I love the variety here! Most of the cupcakes have some sort of filling in them and there are so many different flavors to choose from. In addition to cupcakes, they have enormous cookies, cake pops, rice crispy treats, as well as some other sweet treats. My husband and I visited with four 8 year old boys and among us, we ate two s'mores cupcakes, a peach cobbler cupcake, a rice crispy treat, a cake pop and a chocolate covered pretzel. Everyone finished their chosen item without a crumb left on their plate. The peach cobbler cupcake was topped with a whipped cream topping that wasn't too sweet. The rice crispy treat was the perfect level of sweet and gooey. We will definitely be back!

I was greeted upon entry to Molly's Cupcakes in Skokie and given time to look before I made my selection. The worker was very patient with me, as I went back and forth in a few flavors. I was in and out in a jiffy!

I'm hovering between a 3 and a 4, but knowing the quality and freshness of the Lincoln Park location, this rounds down to a 3. On a midweek day when I felt like treating myself after some namaste time at Core Power, I moseyed in to try a couple cupcakes. Peach cobbler was a done deal bc it's my tried and true favorite here, with the delicious flavors of vanilla brown sugar cake combined with peach filling and homemade whipped cream. It's lip smacking good and worth the $4.50 price tag. Also, I hear this is the flavor that won Molly's the Cupcake Wars title on Food Network. I wanted something chocolatey for my second pick, so tried the red velvet lava, which has a red velvet cake, dulce filling, and buttercream with chocolate curls on top. This was made the day before at best, and the drying cake was a telltale sign, so that was disappointing. Molly's takes over the corner storefront by Sephora and Macy's that used to be home to Mrs. Field's cookies and TCBY yogurt. In the afternoons, the direct sunlight through the windows makes it quiet warm inside, and the staff has to remove the trays exposed to that angle from the case. I also noticed there's quite the selection of ~10 cookie flavors and a handful of jumbo rice krispies. Lots of drinks to choose from too in the case. Best of luck!

Creme Brulee Cupcake & Peach Cobbler Cupcake

I ordered 2 cupcakes on DoorDash and they were buy one get one free. I got the crème brûlée and the peach cobbler. The crème brûlée was my favorite. It has the hard sugar top and the cake was moist. The peach cobbler was just ok. Will definitely be ordering more of the crème brûlée.

I was looking for a bakery in the area, and Molly's cupcakes kept coming up as a very popular location. However, I was not a fan of any of the cupcakes that I tried. I really didn't find anything unique about Molly's cupcakes. They are not terrible, but they're not great. however, the staff were really kind and it was in a great location.

Oh, this review pains me! Anyone who knows me knows that I will say Molly's Cupcakes are the best cupcakes you'll ever eat! I was super excited that one opened up in the area! I thought... oh no, my waistline isn't going to be happy...haha! Went in on a Tuesday afternoon, and the mall wasn't crowded, and neither was Molly's. The interior is cute, but don't expect the swings and such you see at Lincoln Park and River North locations. It is a way smaller location, so I'm not surprised. The interior colors are cute and fun! Now to the past that pains me. My favorites at Molly's are chocolate decadence, cake batter, and Peach cobbler (which won them Cupcake Wars). During this trip, I ordered 1 chocolate decadence and 1 cake batter. Upon trying them when I got home, I immediately realized that they aren't as moist as the cupcakes at other locations. The cake batter filling didn't have that slightly salty taste and it was thick... nothing oozed out as I cut the cupcake. If this was my first time trying Molly's, I wouldn't think much of it. The cake was dry and the flavor lacked. It is so sad!!! Again, I'm probably Molly's #1 fan, so this is excruciating to write. I'm really hoping that it'll improve with time, and this is just because they've been open for a little shy of a month. I'll probably stick to the locations in the city and come to this one when I'm short on time and really need a cupcake.

I haven't had a Molly's Cupcake in forever and when I heard they were going to open one up in Old Orchard, I was ecstatic! Totally forgot about it till now but it's never too late! I really loved the blueberry cheesecake so I got 2 and then I got 3 other flavors that I don't remember trying before - red velvet, peach cobbler, and creme brulee. I really liked the creme brulee and would definitely get that again. The peach cobbler and the red velvet were ok - not my fave but I think that's just a personal preference. I also grabbed a turtle cheesecake because I felt like it. It's only a quarter more than a cupcake. It tasted fine but I probably wouldn't get it again. I also grabbed a birthday gift box for a friend. That had a large cake pop, small cake pop, a rice krispy treat and a brownie for $16.95. My friend reported back to me and said it was delicious. I really loved that they had that gift box option as I was stuck on what to bring her. I would totally come back again for my fave cupcake flavors and to try out other ones. The lady working that day was super nice and helpful.

    Pecan Pie Cupcake

I ordered Molly's Cupcakes through DoorDash when I was having drinks in celebration of my recently deceased uncle. I wanted a dessert that was uplifting and tasty, and that was exactly what I got. First, I ordered the buy one get one free chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. They were moist, perfectly decorated, and gave me exactly what I wanted in terms of flavor. Secondly, I had them surprise me with a random flavor. They gave me Pecan Pie, which I was originally hesitant about. I'm not a big pecan pie fan, and funnily enough, pecan pie was the one flavor I DID NOT want. BUT the cupcake ended up being surprisingly amazing. I loved the whipped topping, the candied pecans, the cake, and the filling. I actually liked the pecan pie flavor the best. That shows this cupcake shop is not one to mess with! They can make you love a flavor you don't usually love! I will definitely be ordering from them again when I travel to the area in the near future.

Fun choices to be made for kids and adults alike.

The marzipan cookie with toasted almonds on top made me stop talking for a moment and consider not sharing. The texture, the almond flavor, and the toasted almond were all unmatched. The test that mattered most came from my friend's mother, who had just landed from Tehran and approached the cake with the same scrutiny she brings to anything meant to resemble the desserts she grew up with. She attempted to find a flaw. She takes a bite of the Bibi Nescafe cake, said it was the same, said it was not, repeated the comparison, and could not believe herself. She finished it confused and could not find a reason not to liked it. For anyone familiar with Persian baking standards, that sequence functions as a reliable endorsement. ChixCakes is impossible to find. Their website does not mention Chicago, almond cookies, walnut cookies, or Persian cakes, and it doesn't show up in a search engine unless you already know their name. It's like you need to know someone to find them. My friend, who knew they existed, still spent twenty minutes trying to locate them online without success.
