Cozy and quaint yet such a popular spot! For a good reason too! The food is genuinely fresh, yummy! Feels like going to your grandmother's house! You'll receive a warm smile when you walk in and when they drop your food off at your table. Fresh bread, veggies, fruit! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It felt so peaceful in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Genuinely such a gem. Quality and quantity of the food was perfect. Open on Saturdays as well so it's perfect for a lunch in between thrifting or checking out local shops. I will say there is a similar concept down the street, but I must emphasize that STK won me over. Will happily be back soon!

Only saving grace of this is the meatball pocket, soup lacked substance and flavor, and the bread pudding was on the bland side and an unpleasant spongy texture. I say this with confidence I could make a better soup and Bread Pudding

Spinach frittata and dill BLT pasta salad

My husband and I were I. Town for a meeting and we decided to try something different from our norm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is so cute, sunny, friendly and the food was delish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the spinach frittata with homemade dill pasta salad and he had the steak club sandwich and Greek salad. We will definitely be back!

    Strawberry shortcake cake

I ordered a strawberry shortcake cake for my daughter's baptism, and it was amazing! It was subtly sweet and melt in your mouth soft. It was also beautiful and by far the best deal for the money compared to other bakeries in town.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband and I came here to escape the scorching hot sun, and to our surprise found a cute little spot that filled our little tummies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just be aware if you get the tea it is not sweet. The workers were sweet and nice and the blonde waitress was quick to assist people and quick on her feet. Would definitely recommend!!

From beginning to end, great experience. Super creative and dynamic menu, with magical words such as "from scratch", "local produce" and "freshly cooked". Chrissy was an awesome ambassador of culture and art in Abilene, giving us great tips as new comers. Delightfully decorated, the place is a historic treasure, even the bathroom transported me to a little chateaux in France. Will be coming back!

5 star reviews have a downside. I tell y'all how GREAT this place is, then it gets busy and I can't get in! But that's ok, yelpers are a very sharing people, and spreading the word helps keep these places in business. My first time here. It's a house, turned bakery and Bistro. Pardon me, I meant GREAT bakery and cafe. Sandwiches and salads on the menu. Quiche, frittatas, and baked goods in the case up front. We had the avocado turkey sandwich on focaccia and the STK club sandwich, both with side salads. Everything was fantastic! Right down to the homemade ranch dressing. And they make really good tea. The owner, Missy I think, came out and talked to us. Super nice and a great person. She said don't forget dessert! And that's when things got crazy. We were full, so dessert was to go. We took home German chocolate cake, key lime pie, cinnamon rolls, and some quiche. With a great big smile, she gave us free cookies! Score! We definitely enjoyed our visit here, and will be back for sure. Thanks STK!

Turkey focaccia and soup of the day: broccoli cheddar!

My husband and I tried this bistro for the first time today. The food was super delicious! I got the turkey focaccia sandwich. It was sliced turkey, lettuce, tomato, avocado and honey mustard on homemade focaccia. The bread, although thick, was super flavorful. They make everything from scratch, which is super impressive! I also had a cup of the soup of the day and it was good. My husband had the turkey caprese sandwich (not photographed). He wasn't a fan of how thick the bread was but I thought his sandwich was delicious. We shared the cinnamon roll and I believe it had cream cheese icing. In any case, it wasn't overly sweet. We paid $26.95 for 2 sandwiches, 1 cup of soup, 1 tea, 2 bags of chips. And then 3.79 for for the cinnamon roll. Moderate pricing

Favorite place in Abilene I will be stopping everyone I come through town. The springpea and asparagus frittata was the best I've ever had

I will say the key lime pie I ate was beyond amazing. Better than any I ever had in Florida. Hope staff shortage doesn't force them to close. It would be a huge loss for Abilene. It's a must try if you haven't been there.

I wanted to give more than just an average Joe 3 stars just because of the cool specialty pie…read moreconcept (and cool name and play on words!). A friend and I just happened upon this shop because we were in the shopping plaza going to H&H Beverages (ABC liquor store). The pie shop itself happened to be closed but we discovered a self serve pie and goodie vending machine right outside the shop front entrance and wandered over to check it out. Pretty darn cool concept! The vending machine takes credit card payments and there were a lot of different pie options to choose from - so kudos to them for keeping a well stocked machine after hours. There are various pie slice flavors, 6" small whole pies and also what they call "pie-faits" (get it? a play on the word "parfait") - little dessert cups (basically deconstructed pies in a jar with a lid). I posted a bunch of pics and a couple vids so check them out. We ended up ordering 2 pie slices - Key Lime and Milk and Cookies. Prices for slices were a tad high but we figured what the heck, we'll splurge for fresh homemade pie. We liked the Key Lime pie slice - very tart, tangy and creamy. But we didn't like so much the Milk and Cookies pie slice - when we dug into it, it was mostly all pie crust and pie topping and not much actual pie filling - also was way too sweet (probably due to the slice being all crust and topping) - disappointing especially for how much we paid for the slice WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE MILK AND COOKIES PIE. We peered through the front window into the shop - it looked quaint and basic - a tiny little place - an ordering counter, pie display case and a couple of tables and chairs. That was about it. Not really the kind of ambience that would cause me to stay, sit and eat there honestly. The shopping center was old and tired and seemed a bit run down with vacant shops and not much going on. From the main road (Rebecca Ln) you can't even see the shop signage so unless you knew about this place, you would never know it was here driving by (not even with their truck parked near the street) - which is unfortunate for them. In the end, bottom line, I don't think it's a place I would go out of my way to seek out or frequent. It was a cool novelty stop-in-and-try-once kind of place (and only because it caught our eye when we were at the liquor store) but given the high cost of a slice and not being absolutely blown away by what we ordered, not really worth a second look imo. :(
