The vegan donuts are great. However, they don't taste like a donut. It's more like a cake with good frosting.

I'm so thankful that a place like this is now in our neighborhood! The food is fresh and flavorful. The price points on everything are also excellent. It's a great place to co-work with a friend because you can get a beverage and order food when you get hungry. It's spacious and there are enough electrical outlets for your devices! I've been a number of times and this time, I had the salmon breakfast sandwich without cheese. I'm not a big fan of eggs, so I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and fresh the eggs were! The salmon cake was good too! I also included a picture of one of the vegan donut. Fantastic! I also recommend the triple chocolate cake. This is a great place to go if you eat plant-based or vegan. If you're looking for a place to eat in Anacostia, this is it!

Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes is warm, fresh, artsy. It's the definition a local business. They give back to the community while simultaneously being your go to spot for working remotely in the cafe, or a quaint brunch with a close friend, The ambiance is vibrant and cozy. The food was very delicious. I dined here for a private event. I tried the chicken wings, salmon burger, a side salad banana pudding. Everything was fresh. We were privileged to taste the owners homemade ice cream (flavors: banana pudding, and Chocolate flavored with pecans - I cannot recall the name). Our servers were sweet and attentive. When you I entered the establishment and was unsure where to go, the employees were not readily helpful. Parking is a bit. Overall, it was truly a love experience. I'll be back!

Loved my visit to Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes! The desserts were fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely a hidden gem, I'll be back!

Anacostia's newest cafe is one on a mission. PG County-based Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes serves halal desserts and food in a space that welcomes all. Along MLK Avenue SE, a few blocks from the Anacostia Metro, Sweet Tooth is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Stopping in on opening day, here's my experience. 1) Food: When you walk in, you'll see beautifully decorated cakes behind a glass counter. Go to the register for even more baked goods like croissants, cookies, and more. Since I stopped in for a snack only, I ordered the pumpkin muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were good, but the pumpkin muffin was perfect. Full of flavor and very moist, it's the best I've had in D.C. Their menu is very large and they serve breakfast and lunch too. Many of their desserts can be made vegan too. 2) Drinks: They have a full coffee menu, lemonades, juices, and more. I ordered a small hazelnut latte. It wasn't as good as other local coffee shops, but it was decent. 3) Service: It was excellent. Every staff member was friendly, personable, and efficient. They create a warm environment. 4) Space: It's big with lots of seating from booths to long tables. They have clean restrooms, outlets, and free Wi-Fi. (The password is near the register.) Beautiful art hangs throughout the cafe. Natural light pours into the space. 5) Neighborhood: It's in the heart of historic Anacostia. There are plenty of other spots to visit nearby from murals to the Go-Go Museum to the Anacostia Arts Center. Street parking can be found just off of MLK Avenue.

I stopped in to pick up something to go. They were very welcoming immediately when I entered and it was nicely decorated. I tried the sweet potato cheesecake; it wasn't not too sweet and had the perfect texture and flavor. My only regret is that I didn't stay and enjoy more things but I will be back!

Sweet tooth second location is amazing. Same great desserts as the Capital Heights location just bigger and more menu items. The curry chicken salad sandwish always hits. Friendly service with a nice decor. It's a Card only.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning and was drawn in by the many desert options at the counter. The space is clean and light with a nice decor. Chris made a delicious latte while we waited for our food. The service was great and the owner's family is hands-on. Def check them out!

Stopped by Pluma while exploring the Wharf and really enjoyed the experience…read more The café itself is beautiful, minimalist, earthy, and thoughtfully designed. Even though we got our drinks and food to go, I couldn't help but admire the cute ceramics and overall aesthetic of the space. I ordered the lavender latte, which was good but didn't completely wow me. My husband and I also shared the bread pudding, and that was definitely the highlight. He gave it a 9/10, and I'd have to agree, it was delicious and the perfect treat to enjoy while walking around the pier. One thing to note is that prices are definitely on the higher side. I noticed the avocado toast was around $18, and while it looked nice, it didn't seem particularly special for the price. Overall, a very cute café with a great atmosphere and an excellent bread pudding. A lovely stop while visiting the Wharf.

But, that's very preferential to my palate... the roast they serve from small planes is beautiful. The espresso beans are single origin and they serve a blend for their drip coffee. But the gem of this coffee shop is the baked goods! It is absolutely the most delicious and well made bread I've ever had in a coffee shop. I feel like they should be a bakery that serves coffee on the side. Their mushroom toast is out of this world! Like the best thing I've had in a long time. Their sourdough and multigrain bread is the foundation and the most beautiful one at that. The sauce is magnificent. Their croissant is as close to magic as you can get... I just wish I had come in time to have it warm. Their avocado toast is served with fresh piles of beautiful avocado. But again, the multigrain bread is the star! Their Pain Suisse... magic in a pastry... chocolate and pistachio wrapped in flaky croissant! beautiful and delicate... it's a must get!

I absolutely love this place! You can enjoy a delightful mix of three pretzels ~ salted, cinnamon…read moresugar, or everything bagel for $8. Even though it's a small operation, this pretzel shop truly brings joy to our community. They also offer delicious breakfast sandwiches, pretzel dogs, and various tea and coffee options. I was lucky to get all three of my pretzels from the oven. I especially like how the cinnamon sugar pretzel is topped with icing instead of dust--it's much easier to eat and still gives you that sweet, satisfying treat. The staff are quick and friendly. If they're baking a flavor, they'll let you know how long you'll need to wait for that fresh batch. There's plenty of seating, both inside and outside on picnic tables, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy.

Lots of patrons were picking up take-away and the in-person ordering line moved quickly. Definitely kid friendly with plenty in-door and out-door seating. We placed our order and waited to be called over the PA system. I'm not sure why they call you based on the items you ordered rather then the receipt number, but such is life. The breakfast pretzel was served room temperature, eggs were not to my liking, but good flavor from the bacon and cheese. The pretzel itself self was dry and kinda flavorless. The salted pretzel had a soft interior and crusty exterior with nice salt flakes but didn't live up to my expectations. The pub cheese was a welcome purchase to polish off the pretzel. The sweet pretzel was the best from our order. Pretzel was still dry but the cinnamon sweet topping made the top enjoyable.

We came here twice during our most recent stay in Washington DC. We appreciated the variety of…read moresandwiches and thoughtfulness in the prices that reflected increased/decreased toppings. We also really appreciated the friendly service and staff members we came across during our time there. The first day I ordered an everything bagel with veggies and cream cheese -- I took out the bacon and the price of the sandwich decreased by $3. The second time I ordered an egg and cheese everything bagel with avocado and latke. The latke was just okay and didn't add much to my sandwich. The everything bagels were really good as well with plenty of seasoning but I think they were a little tougher for our taste (a perfect bagel would be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but the inside was a little tough and the outside wasn't crispy). For a coffee, two bagels, tax and tip, we paid about $32, so they are a bit on the pricier side. But the staff are very kind to the community. The place gets super busy around 9 am, so we learned to just order online the next time and our food was ready within 15 minutes. Other people and us on the first day were waiting over 20 minutes otherwise for our food, which I know can be frustrating. Very popular bagel shop.

The combination of salmon, kimchi, and cucumbers worked surprisingly well together and reminded me a bit of the flavors you'd get from Korean banchan. The bagel itself was fresh and filling. There was plenty of outdoor seating available, which was nice, especially on a busy morning. The only downside was that it took a fair amount of time for our food to come out. Other than that, it was a solid breakfast spot with creative flavors that stand out from your typical bagel shop.
