I love this Sub place!

Awwww man, I love Mother Rucker's Sub. This is a D.C. staple and the best sandwich spot I've ever had . Black owned and the sandwich symbolizes a connection to D.C. I always get the Marion Barry , a formal mayor of D.C. Your sandwich is made directly in your face and it is exactly what you ask for. Now this isn't a sit down and dine type spot . You kind of ordered, pickup, and go however there is room for a quick bite if that is what you need . It's 1 or 2 tables available for you . The customer service is hospitable and they know their customers . Each visit to D.C. I always make an attempt to stop by good ol' Mother Rucker's sub . Oh just like Chick-Fil-A . They too are closed on Sundays lol

Mother Ruckers's strength is its consistency. Every time I go, I order the Turkey, Ham, and Provolone with everything except onions and get the same great sandwich every time. While it's a simple meal, it's a well-priced (under $15) and filling (12-inch) sandwich that never disappoints. The Italian seasoning and hot peppers give the subtle but important flavor that sets it apart and the workers make sure to put enough mustard, mayo, oil and vinegar that I've never complained about a dry sandwich. This hole-in-the-wall is an example of a place that does something simple but does it well, time and time again.

Goood thangs here!! I was told about this spot by one of friends.. I was craving a good sandwich but didn't wanna get one of the regular corny spots lol. So I said let me place my order via UberEats. It was delivered pretty quick and with love. I open that plastic bags like a savage looking for scraps. The size was right! The smell was right!! The look it self was sold to me before I bit into the heavenly sandwich! The first bite alone was and orgasm to my taste buds. Fresh cold cuts, fresh bread, fresh toppings, fresh sauces! What more do you want?!? I love the experience and I'm looking forward to for more of this spot in the coming days.. Thank you Mother Rucker! Oh yeah BLACK OWNED!!!!!!

Used Mother Ruckers for a work convening. They arrived on time and worked well in advanced. Participated in my walk through and the menu variety was great for the attendees some who could no dairy or were vegan .. happy to Support a woman owned diverse business.

Y'all already know that I rarely give 5 stars but this spot really deserves it!!! I have been wanting to try this spot for years but things happen so yesterday was my first time trying it and they did not disappoint! First of all, Mother Ruckers is a black owned family business and from the moment you walk in, you feel the love and warmth! I did not get the young lady's name but she was so genuine and just a blessing!! It was a blessing to see her genuinely engaged with her customers. Not mean. Not rude. She had such a pleasant attitude and that alone made me want to support even more. Now...let's get into the deliciousness of this cold-cut!!! Soft bread, fresh veggies, and fresh meat! I opted for the turkey provolone and it was everything a cold-cut is supposed to be and much much more. I enjoyed every bite and was mad when it was gone. I will definitely be back and I can't wait.

The cook was sitting at one of the tables and the waitress was behind the bar (they don't serve alcohol) hoping someone would come in. There is an upstairs and a downstairs. We did not go downstairs but I'm assuming there are plenty of seats like upstairs. We ordered the hangry breakfast, which came with French toast, eggs and potatoes, the salmon burger and the chicken & waffles. It's a good thing we ordered so much becaus the chicken and waffles only comes with 4 wingettes. We ordered water but were told they were out of ice. Instead my wife ordered a $4 CANNED SODA because that is the only thing they had cold. $4 for a can is insane by the way. Since we were the only ones in the establishment we expected the food to come quickly but that seemed to take 20-25 minutes as well. Our food eventually arrived. The French toast was good. Flavorful but small. Sandwhich bag slices of bread. The potatoes were clearly from the Walmart frozen foot section. The eggs were ok. My wife's waffle was cool however the chicken was BLAND and SEASONLESS. We didn't even finish them. For $18 I expected more. The salmon burger was by far the best thing there. A thick cut of salmon that was flavorful. We should have gotten two of those. The waitress was nice. The food is overpriced. I should have known when we walked in and the place was empty. Not sure how they stay open having brunch without alcohol but to each is own. One and done for me as a neighborhood guy. The food isn't great and the prices are high. No reason to return.
