I have gone to Amanda for face wax and eyebrow wax and tint. She's always been very forthcoming and let's me know what she's doing from start to finish - and she's exceptionally thorough on aftercare. But, that's not the reason for this review. Today, I did my FIRST EVER BRAZILIAN WAX!! **GASP** IT WAS AMAZING!  Well, the waxing part stung a bit...but I have tattoos and went through 30-hours of unmedicated labor, so, this wasn't as bad as I had imagined. (Not saying you have to have those things to be able to tolerate a Brazilian wax, but that's how I psyched myself up for it). My appointment was at 8:45 this morning. She was there already so I didn't have to wait. She greeted me and then left the room so I could get undressed from the waist down (privacy, for this? Yes, thank you very much!) She already knew how apprehensive I was and how nervous this unknown was to me. She literary walked me through each step she was doing! She kept me talking...and not mindless babble, but really engaging conversation. I didn't have to strike an awkward pose - like the cannonball (knees to chest), the frog (soles of feet together and knees open wide), and I certainly didn't have to go face down, ass up! And she went over what to expect, what to do and what not to do, and extensive after care. There was no time to keep one side covered while she did the other side - she worked both sides so easily! So, when the right side was done, she just had me change my leg positions! (The position I was in was on my back, if left leg was straight, my right leg was bent to make a figure 4, and vice versa.) And for the back end, all I did was lie on my stomach. I didn't feel self-conscious, overwhelmed, or exposed at all. I even bought these little bottles of aftercare stuff, called Love My Muff! She uses them so she was able to explain their purpose to me. Oh, and when talking about those areas, she never made it crude or uncomfortable, just matter-of-fact. Before I end, let me tell you, she has the best music! So, with all that said, I highly recommend Sweet Vanity waxing. read more

I decided to start waxing my legs because of the uncontrollable itching I experience after shaving (so much that I bruise my legs scratching them). My initial wax was at one of the Franchised waxing centers, as I thought that was my best bet. BOY WAS I WRONG. It took me some time to decide to wax again after that. I searched for a local esthetician after a friend of mine in the medical field suggested a private establishment over the "franchised". That is when I came across Sweet Vanity Waxing Boutique. This experience was 100 times better. Amanda introduce herself, gave me a few instructions and left so I could undress. When she returned a few minutes later, she was so professional (unlike the previous 19 year old at the franchised waxing center). Amanda explained the process, and walked me thru each step. I am not going to lie to you, waxing is not the most comfortable, but it is VERY MUCH worth the stinging pain that only last for a few seconds, for me to not have to shave and deal with unbearable itching. I have regularly waxed my legs with SVWB since my first time in November 2016. I go about every 4-6 weeks. What I love the most is that Amanda does not make me feel uncomfortable. We talk about life like we have know each other for many years. She is so down to earth and personable. I ventured for a Brazilian before my trip to Cozumel in Dec 2016. Now I will tell you, this is not a wax that I would do every month as recommended (mostly because I am a BABY). But it was worth it for the trip to the ocean, not having to mess with shaving down there or worrying about if I needed to. The process for the Brazilian is a bit more revealing that a full leg wax, obviously. I didn't feel self-conscious, overwhelmed, or exposed at all. Amanda is so professional and she makes sure to NEVER contaminate her wax by re-dipping after an applicator has touched the skin. I absolutely love my legs when she is finished. Now to discuss her pricing....SERIOUSLY!!!! I thought because she was a private boutique it would cost me way more than the franchised place, but it did not at all. All of these reviews are spot on. I met Amanda for the first time yesterday and she is so sweet, professional and knowledgeable! I got a hydro dermabrasion treatment and Amanda explained every step of the way to make sure I knew exactly what was being applied to my skin and how it should feel, etc. We spoke a ton about skin care and other products she uses (her skin and make up are incredible) and she was so kind to give me a sample of everything she recommended (which, I am loving the products so far!!). I really appreciate how passionate she is about using sunscreen as well and it was very obvious she takes such great pride in her work and clients. Oh.. and I left yesterday with my skin looking and feeling amazing! I really wish I could have her prep my skin like that every morning, because I would never need any make up!
