Visually the cupcakes look tasty. I got a lemon cupcake described as "filled with pastry cream" which it was not. There was about 1 tsp of cream and it was also unfortunately lacking flavor. There was lemon flavor in the frosting but I found the cake texture to be a bit dense, not light and fluffy. Considering the price, $4 a cupcake and it is a size of a cupcake one would make at home I wouldn't return. read more

Went to Sweetened Memories in a slight panic. The wedding cake we ordered from another bakery was cancelled 3 weeks before our event. Sweetened Memories was outstanding!!! Sat with us and put our minds at ease. We ordered a 1/2 vegan 1/2 regular cake and they delivered it to the venue. It was absolutely beautiful. I've attached a picture. I have nothing but good things to say about this business, the owner & the employees. I live in Vegas but I'm from NH. My Mom was turning 70 last year (2019) & I wanted to go home & surprise her for her birthday. I wanted to get my Mom a cake for her birthday & happened to come across this cake on the internet that I thought was super cute & wanted to have made for her birthday. So where do I go to see who can make this cake for me????? Of course, I went to YELP!!! That is where I found this business along with another one. I contacted both of them & Sweetened Memories had the best prices, so I went with them. I contacted them via YELP & spoke to one of the owner's Alaina. She was AWESOME!! She responded right away, was able to give me a price & asked about cake, cupcake flavors & confirmed details of what I wanted with me. I had sent her a picture of the cake I wanted made. Once I was home in NH I continued to contact her via email. She always emailed me back in a timely manner. We confirmed the pick up day & time. She told me that she wasn't going to be there but one of her employee's would be there to give me the cake. One of my childhood friends came with me to drive up to Dover/Durham area. It was the day my Mom came home & I surprised her with my present. I felt bad cause I had to take off shortly after to go meet up with Jodi. I was sooooo full of excitement between surprising my Mom & going to go pick up this cake that was specially made. Of course I didn't tell her where I was going. It was approximately a 20-25 minute drive from Portsmouth. The GPS took us to a house. I didn't realize that this business was out of the owner's house. Not issue. Alaina had given me Jodi's phone number & I contacted her via text the day of picking up the cake & she responded back right away. She was very friendly & nice. The kitchen was big & clean. She pulled the cake & the cupcakes out of the fridge as I was full of such excitement. OMG they were perfect!!! She put the cake in one box & the cupcakes in a cupcake box. I paid cash to make the transaction easy. I did confirm that cash was OK for payment prior to arrival. OK so lets get back home to my Mom's with her birthday cake!!! So my friend & I go buy a platter to set the cake up on. It was a toilet paper roll with poop emoji like cupcakes with a banner on the TP roll that said "Holy Crap You're Old." See my photo's. Well let me tell you something............my Mother LOVED the cake!!!!! The taste of the cake was DELICIOUS!!. It was fresh, very moist & full of flavor. The cake was vanilla flavor with fondant. The cupcakes were chocolate flavored with vanilla frosting colored brown. The cupcakes were tasty & moist too. The cake was small & it didn't take long for my Mom to eat it. Everything we ordered was delicious and it was pretty easy to order online, but I had just one small issue. I ordered decorated sugar cookies and the online image shows these lovely flower decorated cookies. What I got in my order was a totally different shape with really basic frosting piped on. It was nothing like the image being shown on the website. So that was really disappointing. I didn't notice until I got the box back home either or else I'd have asked at the store. Liz and her team made the perfect wedding cake for the wedding. It was exactly what we wanted. It looked fabulous and tasted great! The only only issue was that the venue "forgot" to save the top layer for us - even though Sweetened Memories had sent a box for it. Sweetened Memories to the Rescue!!!! My wife and I got married last month in NH and Sweetened Memories did a fantastic job with not one, but BOTH of our cakes! We ordered two cakes: a traditional 3-tiered wedding cake, and a sheet cake. The large bottom layer of the tiered cake was lemon raspberry w/lemon curd, and the top two smaller layers were pumpkin cinnamon. Our sheet cake was a dark chocolate salted caramel cake. The cakes were gorgeous and delicious. All the guests raved about both cakes, and many went back for seconds (one guest even brought her piece on the dance floor). Sweetened Memories was a dream to work with for our wedding! My husband and I knew the minute we left the tasting that Sweetened Memories was the best fit for us. This shop is an absolute gem and their customer service rivals any and every other retail location on the planet. We ordered a cake for my daughters birthday and now my son's birthday. The flavors were absolutely mind blowing, not to mention they took the creative edge to the brink of unimaginable and made it possible. I love the quaint sweet shop and their wild imagination and talents that make any child's dream come true. I am so happy with the creations I get from there... every time I go there I end up getting more than what I had planned. (NOT SORRY about it either!) The prices are very reasonable, especially for the high quality. The first cake we got was vanilla on vanilla, my son chose a dark chocolate cake with cookie dough inside and an espresso mixed into the cake - with a vanilla frosting so the cake could be painted like the fish dream, I asked of. Although I ordered a simple 6 inch round cake (supossedly $35, according to the website), I ended up paying $50 (I didn't even bothered to ask why, I just wanted to help a small business). It was very dense, and you could feel the upper crust on both layers. We asked for cream cheese frosting, we got a buttercream, extremely sweet. I never write reviews and I can't review the product because I had to cancel my order within a half hour of calling it in. Alaina was very rude and said I could not cancel my order because they had " already put it together". I had ordered a dozen vegan cupcakes with flower frosting. Wow I thought...did they pull them out of the freezer? Anyway she was telling me - too bad for you , your order will be ready for pick up tomorrow-then she hung up on me! Canceling an order is tough for a business and I understand that but this was done within a 1/2 hour and truly, circumstances happen and successful businesses work with customers. I read the "policies" on the website (which are a bit telling) after she hung up on me. I guess you can disregard "Cancellations must be made within 48 hours of pick up time. " The mention of the fact that the taste of cakes is subjective makes me wonder how many customers have not been happy with the product. read more

I remember when I first took a bite of one of Sweetened memories cakes and knew they had to make my wedding cake! This bakery not only has a million different types of cakes, frostings, and fillings, but they also have an eye for design and create delicious cakes- taste amazing. They have flavor options no other cake vendor has I can promise you that! My wedding cake was strawberry with champagne frosting! And it has actual champagne it! With all the flavors we could not choose so we decided to do 5 different flavors of cupcakes, so that guests would have a choice. Every wedding I've been to there are always either a bunch of cake or cupcakes left over and not eaten...but this was not the case with this vendor! People were raving over the cupcakes and kept coming up to us asking where they were from. I still have people texting me asking! No joke people were fighting over the last cupcakes and trying to take some home with them because they were just that good!
