So my daughter goes to UNH and we have driven past this farm several times on our way to the campus from NJ. My daughter had been here a few times and loved picking up fresh produce during the season. Is there a better time to stop then on a cold, wintery, snowy, Thursday afternoon? We were so happy that we did. This is going to be a must stop for us on all our future pickups and drop-offs with our daughter. We love the charm and appeal of the main store. Knowing it was the off season, their stock of fresh produce wasn't as abundant ( my daughter's word) as it normally was. However, if you want jams, jellies, syrups, chips, pretzels, fresh eggs, varieties of pasta, beauty care products, and coffees, this is your place. They have a nice selection of fresh prepared food options to go like sandwiches, noodles, and soups. Plenty of healthy and organic choices. The prices were very reasonable considering I'm from New Jersey, especially the maple syrup. We noticed there was a nice outdoor patio with tables where customers could relax and enjoy a coffee, dessert, or a food item of their choice in better weather. The staff was very friendly and warm. Plenty of free parking. We can't wait to go back when the weather is better and the fresh produce options are ABUNDANT! read more

Cute farm with adorable goats you can interact with. Farm store has lots of local stuff: produce, meats, salsas, jams, honey, syrup, baked goods, beer. The blueberry whoopie pie with lemon filling was TO DIE FOR. Best thing I've eaten in a while. read more

Did an online order and ordered some basic essentials like yeast, sugar, some veggies and milk. Buying from a local farm you think everything would be fresh but the broccoli seemed a bit old and wilted. I know it's bulk ordering but the bag they put my sugar in made a huge mess all over everything else and more than half the sugar went to waste. Also when they called me at 10:00 am they said they would send a text at 10:30 saying my stuff was ready but they never called so I had to call again at 1:30 pm to see if it was ready and he said yes it was ready. Stopped by this place for the first time a few days back. What a neat little store. The farm animals are what brought me in (they seem well cared for), as I'll never pass by an opportunity to see critters. But, after trying the food and coffee, I now have several reasons to stop - every time I'm in the area. Bagels are excellent...best I've had in years (admittedly, I don't eat a lot of bagels). I also don't typically order or enjoy cream cheese, but what they do with it here is divine. I'm looking forward to trying more flavors in the near future. Light and flavorful, with plenty of chunks of fresh ingredients mixed in. Coffee was well made, and prices were reasonable, and caffeine content was generous. More expensive than Crackedskulls, but this place has a completely different vibe and focus, so it may not be a fair comparison. The other store offerings were also interesting. High-end snacks, deserts, breads and, of course, tubs of their bagel spreads to go - all priced better than expected. Oh, and did I mention the 1/2 price, day old donuts? Yeah, dangerous at six per bag. Very glad I stopped. I will be back, often. read more

Emery Farm is an adorable spot to grab a coffee or tea, breakfast sandwich or some locally made products. It is eclectic little indoor farm stand and worth a trip if you are in the area. Their Chai tea and breakfast sandwich was awesome. They also have yummy baked goods. We have also purchased holiday items such as this year's Christmas tree and wreath from the farm. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I love buying local and there isn't much fresher than buying from a farm. There are also some cute farm animals to look at. read more

We visited the market and cafe at Emery farm more than a few times when we stayed nearby in New Hampshire earlier this summer, and for good reason - the selection here is quite good! One can order prepared food to take out from the window on the right side of the cafe, or you can venture on inside to buy various ingredients. It's not quite the same as a Hannaford or a similar large supermarket chain, but there are a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits available, unique items you probably won't find a lot of elsewhere (e.g. New Hampshire maple syrup, jams made from the fruits on the premises), and a healthy selection of meats, local beers, and lots of snacks that are from smaller brands that would be harder to find. The sandwiches are excellent here; while the lunch sandwiches are a bit more standard, I found the breakfast sandwich to be perfectly on-point. The apple cider donuts are also worth a purchase, although they are only available on certain days - less on the sweet side, but the subtle flavor of the apple in the donut is quite good. While there isn't much else on this particular stretch of road aside from Emery Farm - you are about 15 minutes from Portsmouth, and a little under 10 minutes from downtown Durham - I would say that it is definitely worth paying a visit if you are looking for a unique shopping experience that will have some more interesting and creative foods available. I would happily come back and visit again next time I am in the vicinity. read more

$16 for a grilled cheese, soup and a drink for lunch. Way too expensive. And the food didn't wow me. The grilled cheese was pretty basic and not very cheesy. The potato and leek soup was more of a thick purée and had a decent flavour. Neither one made me think that I would return and the value just wasn't there. Looks like this place is dropping big bucks into a very nice building and top dollar hardscapes. But the customers shouldn't have to carry the burden like this. My prediction is that this place won't last long. Lastly, friends and I had a lengthy conversation on this whole new check out process with iPads and similar devices where it forces you to respond to suggested gratuities. We all consider ourselves generous tippers, but really? The only this you did was take my order. And this establishment is charging these prices and also expecting me to subsidize their employees? Love the new building. It really is so nice and cozy.. There isn't much inside but what they do have is nice local made New England products which is always nice to see.We had lunch here for the first time and it was good, but not great. The sandwich prices are very expensive and they are pretty small/average sized. The ingredients tasted fresh and the bacon was tasty, but there wasn't loads of it. It could have used more filling. The overall taste of the sandwich was really good though! We also had cider donuts and a maple steamer. Now the donuts and even the drink are worth coming for! The donuts are one of the best I've had. Bigger than most, and so flavorful. Love the crunchy outside and sugar coating. The maple steamer was pretty phenomenal as well. I came for apple picking and found out they don't have it here, which is a bummer! But they do have tons of pumpkins and other vegetables for sale, a petting zoo, and yummy apple cider donuts. I was happy to snag a bag of day-old donuts for a great price. The animals were friendly and the donkeys seemed trained to pose next to their names, which was very cute. read more

Went here for some fresh veggies. Unfortunately the new building wasn't open yet but the man at the table was very kind. Got some great tomatoes and some delicious corn. This place SUCKS. We waited over 20 minutes for a couple coffees and four bagels when there was almost no one in the store. The workers did not seem in any rush to serve us and were working very slow. Then when we finally got our coffee they filled it up too much so the rest of our drive consisted of coffee dripping everywhere and making a huge mess. Very sad day. Oh and the coffee tastes bad. Went here a few times. They offer an awesome variety of things. I have started to buy my produce from here opposed to a chain market, because the prices are better and you get much better quality! Plus it's a better feeling when you know your veggies are locally grown. I also have tried their coffee and cider donuts. Cider donuts were deliocus and half a dozen for $6, even better. Also their coffee is great, I tried their hot expresso blend and fell even more in love with this place. If you thought about stopping by this place while driving by, DO IT. Emery Farm has the best fresh corn ever- sweet and tender. Their produce comes right from the garden and right to the stand. The tomatoes are vine ripened and no one has sweeter blueberries. We love this place. Especially in the fall season. We have done a birthday party for our daughter here on two occasions and they were both great. Hay ride and corn maze for the kids (and some animals) and a store with crafts, food, and coffee for the adults. Staff was incredibly flexible. And the best part was that it was an absolute steal. This was a few years ago so my figures may be slightly out of date but we did a birthday party for about 12 kids (and parents) for about $120. It included a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch and every kid got to pick a small pumpkin. And they all got to go through the corn maze and feed the animals. So, even though it isn't necessarily the first place you would think of for a birthday party, if your child has a fall birthday you should definitely consider Emery farm. read more
