Weekends are absolutely insane here--try coming on a weekday if you can. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful interior, great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Slow service for a Monday but not an issue if you're able to snag one of the tables and take in the ambiance. Loved my smoked salmon on simit and my fiancé enjoyed a chocolate chip cookie and vanilla scone.

I read from the reviews that it gets very busy so we decided to try their online ordering so we wouldn't have to wait in line. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very small inside so with people standing in line and people waiting for the food, it felt kind of cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If there weren't so many people, I imagine it would feel cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the chocolate pistachio croissant, pistachio croissant, blood orange Danish, and a cinnamon roll. Out of the four items, the standout were the croissants which were buttery, flaky, and delicious. They had other breakfast and lunch items that looked yummy so we will definitely go back to try them to go!

I have considered driving the 217 miles back to Elephantine for their Mortadella Focaccia! It was that memorable. However, I was just this year's old when I found a location in Boston that I will line up when I next visit my son and daughter-in-law. Anyone here in the local Long Island community who knows where I can have one now, let me know! Almond pastry and coffee stellar also!

I was so excited to try Elephantine Bakery today. Cheat code was to order ahead because we got there and the line was out of the door. Great sign! We were able to see a worker bringing food out to a seated guest and we picked the order up without waiting. I ordered the cinnamon roll and the rosemary focaccia bread. Both were amazing! The cinnamon roll was light and fluffy. I'm not the biggest fan of cream cheese frosting but it wasn't bad and didn't take away from it at all. The focaccia's flavor was amazing. It was everything! The size of it big enough to cut multiple pieces and share it with my husband. If we're able to come back I'd love to sit inside or out and try more items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire atmosphere was beautiful and looked picturesque.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So so good.!

At least six months later, I am still thinking about this meal I had. I love a good sandwich especially when it's in the form of a bagel with salmon. It is so good! It made my best bites of 2025 review. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bakery is small but has some seating inside and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ate this on the little stone wall outside and it was everything I could have wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Although there is a line usually, the service is fast and DELICIOUS!

Honey and cardamom latte with oat milk and a pistachio croissant

While making my way from Boston up to Maine, I stopped on a rainy Sunday morning at Elephantine Bakery for my morning latte and a little treat. The space inside the bakery is extremely limited, but I managed to grab a spot at one of the tiny tables. Normally, it looks like they also have outdoor seating, but not on this particular rainy day. I ordered a honey and cardamom latte with oat milk and a pistachio croissant. The service was extremely fast and friendly. All of the pastry items in the display case looked incredible and I wish I could have sampled one of each! The latte was warm and soothing - the perfect drink for a rainy day. The pistachio croissant had great flavor and was subtly sweet. If I lived in the area, I would be a frequent customer of Elephantine Bakery. Keep up the great work!

This spot is super popular, and for good reason! The vibe is amazing--its location almost makes you feel like you're not even in NH. They offer a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, and their coffee is absolutely delicious--it genuinely tastes like it's made with love. I tried the ricotta toast and was blown away by the size and presentation. The ricotta was perfectly whipped, topped with seeds, honey, and just a touch of salt for balance. I asked if they had a fig drizzle instead of honey, which they didn't, but the staff member smiled and said, "That's a great idea." Honestly, if they added it, I'm sure it would be a hit! Everything tasted fresh, and you can really tell they take pride in the food they serve. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more from their menu.

Amazing amazing !! Small, alley has a handful of tables. 100% worth the wait if there is a line. Few come close to the exciting menu and fabulous execution of pastries and sandwiches and entrees. Superb !!!

    This is the chocolate croissant

The pastries were delicious! There was a long line but it went by fast! The pistachio croissant is only offered on the weekends. The coffee was delicious, I got a caramel latte with almond milk and it was so good!

Such a quality quaint coffee and breakfast spot! It's a walk up and pay kind of place. The lines can become extremely long waiting for seats can be an issue. We absolutely loved the unique cilber breakfast items and fabulous high quality ingredients bakery items! Downside it the up charge for jams and higher prices in general. However if money not an issue then I ighly recommend!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful bakery tucked away on the picturesque Commercial Alley in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Elephantine Bakery is a must-visit. We ordered their Pain Au Chocolat, Ricotta Lemon Danish, Ham & Cheese Croissant, and their signature Cardamom & Honey Latte. Everything was phenomenal. I can't wait to go back and try their Ricotta and Honey Toast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Elephantine has an authentic and welcoming vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were so friendly and patient especially since we took awhile deciding on what to get because everything was mouthwatering.

The delightful scent of coffee was in the air and the staff were absolutely friendly as you approached the counter. Despite a buzz of patrons trickling in and ordering, the coffee was delivered to the table shortly after I sat. The staff obviously had a strong momentum going as I watched other tables being served just as quickly. Before I could even really start sipping on my piping hot Cafe Au Lait, I was served my salad and crepe. It was fun to watch how each person worked their station passionately. The lady preparing the crepes meticulously cleaned her station as she cooked. The staff on coffee were brewing away and sending cups out to diners. Other items were coming out from the back kitchen. They worked in unison like a well oiled machine. I definitely enjoyed my coffee. My salad was generous and hit the spot. The crepe was acceptable. Would I come back? Yeah, definitely my type of breakfast spot when visiting Portsmouth again. I definitely will try their croissants next time as well as check out their wine bar in the evenings!

My friend's & I stopped in here so I could grab my Mom a popover. Since it was MSD it was busy & there was a small line but it moved quickly. I ordered a plan Popover for my Mom that came with a maple butter that Sand (took my order @ the register) told me that it was really good. My Mom enjoyed it. It was a good size & looked yummy! I also picked up a sugar cookie for myself that I carried around all day & due to the heat the frosting melted and my cookie got smushed but it was still pretty tasty. It was sweet but not too sweet. I'd love to go back for another one & eat it before I ruin it! LOL I also got a funfeti cupcake & found it to be very small & kinda dry. The frosting wasn't very sweet. I wouldn't get another cupcake as it's not worth the price ($3.46) or the taste. I used one of the unisex bathroom's while I was here which wasn't too bad for a busy MSD, but they had signs on the door that "bathrooms are for customers only" but I doubt they had any way to control the bathroom traffic. I still have $$$ left on my GC & will definitely be back to try something else & maybe even a popover! :-)
