Wow, if only I had something this good local to me! The honeycomb mocha was incredible, and not too sweet. The lox was fresh and the bagel was perfectly chewy. The veggie Quiche was served hot and very tastefully done. I also ordered the bagel and lox. I have yet to eat that but it looked and smelled so good. Can't wait to bite into it. Nice little coffee shop tucked away in this little village. Shop is run by two young ladies with a wonderful attitude and high spirited. Enjoyed talking to them the whole time we were there. My wife fell in love with the pottery and we bought two items. Betsy Ledbetter is the potter who made the items. So very nice to have items made locally. This shop also has two EV stations that are free of charge to use. A novel concept now a days. Congratulations to them, stop by and support this wonderful store. read more

A good to great coffee house that serves bagel sandwiches and quiches that are tasty. Service is great. Prices are a little high but so is every where now. I got a perfectly toasted everything bagel with a generous serving of cream cheese and the veggie quiche which was perfect. And a large latte served in one of their handmade mugs. The small house turned coffee shop is cheerfully decorated. There's pottery to buy and fair trade baskets. The prices are cheaper for the same items at other shops. The location is quite splendid, with this rustic cabin sitting outside of the nearby town, which is quite crowded and touristy. This location is much quieter. Seating is indoors or outdoors, the latter of which is quite pleasant with the degree of tree cover. Their selling point was more atmosphere than menu, but among their small baked goods selection I found a pretty decent bagel, served toasted with ample butter. Their drink specials included and orange juice chai; I thought of a chai with orange zest I once had that was great, and hoped this might be a similarly winsome new discovery, but alas, orange juice and chai spices do not combine that well. I was nonetheless happy to start my mountain trip with this little charge. It's also of note that they kept my bag behind the counter for me when I left it behind, and they were open late enough, even on a holiday, for me to find my way back without any major hassle. read more

I can't say enough about this absolutely adorable coffeehouse. There is limited seating inside but on a beautiful day you'll want to sit outside, either on covered porch or under shaded trees on the grounds. The employees were just as wonderful as the setting, going beyond kind and helpful. I ordered a vanilla/lavender latter, and truthfully one of the best I've had. I always ask for extra hot (unfortunately don't always receive it) but today that's exactly what I did get, YUM! Our cheddar/egg/bacon biscuit....again one of the best I've had, only complaint, we didn't order two! They offer a wide variety of local artists goods (pottery, baskets, etc) which were all quite exquisite, and yes I left with several. We'll be back in the area in several months and no doubt Sweetwater will be one of our first stops! It's the best! read more

They have the absolute best coffee and biscuit sandwich. The egg, bacon, cheese biscuit is delicious- not greasy or too salty but well balanced and very savory. The coffee drink I get is called valley macchiato, which include caramel and coconut flavors and is not too sweet. read more

You know a coffee shop is good when you buy a local potters mug from them! This place caught us so by surprise! A very tiny and cute little coffee house, decorated with local potters art for sale. Even the people working behind the counter looked cute and cozy! Once we saw the menu, we knew we had to try at least a few things. We got the lox bagel, a slice of the daily quiche, and one of their breakfast biscuits. We also got a chai latte, and a "Mom's chai" which we'll get into. The lox bagel was a perfect cream cheese to lox ratio, it was good, but it was just a lox bagel. Now the quiche was really good, as you can see, we got right into it and forgot to take our photo! But the star of the show was the breakfast biscuit and the mom's chai! The breakfast biscuit tasted extremely homemade, and it was perfect! The biscuit was so soft and slightly cheesy and it complemented everything else so well. A really simple biscuit just bacon, sausage, and egg but perfectly executed! Now the mom's chai was super different! They explained it as it would taste like an orange Julius. It was a mix of chai latte and orange juice! Which I was skeptical to try it first, but I'm so glad I did because it was absolutely delicious! Overall, this place was really cute and everything was really good. 10/10 would go back if I'm ever in Helen! read more

I was so excited to have found this place. The store across the street did not tell us about it when we asked where to get coffee so I found Sweetwater on yelp. I don't know what the deal was with that. Maybe they don't like each other but anyway, I had high hopes because it was such a cute little coffee shop. We got the cheddar biscuits (the biscuits was a little dry honestly ) with egg and bacon (deliciously crispy) Along with iced coffees. We enjoyed the ambience and the food but my daughter's six dollar iced coffee was not sweet enough for her liking so she went up to the counter to get more sweetener but the employee put too much in. It was so sweet she couldn't drink it so my husband asked if we could get another one made. We didn't ask for our money back but to get another one or add another coffee shot, whatever to make it better. Really this is not expensive to make a customer happy when you're charging six dollars for a coffee but they refused. They said that they had to charge us for another drink. I kind of thought that was not a great idea because we were going to be there all week and probably would've come here every day, but that was their choice not to honor that. I've been going to this shop since my parents moved here in 2002. I loved the original owners. They were easy going and very friendly. I think the current owner(s) do not have good customer service skills. On an April 2024 Saturday morning, my sister and I went to have coffee and chat. I bought a lovely handmade coffee mug from the collection of local artist made pottery they sell in their shop. I paid for a decaf Americano to drink out of my new mug. About 30 minutes later, I ordered a regular cup of coffee and handed over my mug which still had some cold leftover coffee in it. Now, it was pretty busy in the shop (people waiting for their drink/food orders) but the gal (I think the owner/manager) took my mug, looked in it, saw the coffee in the mug and just topped it off! LUKE-WARM COFFEE is not what I expect when I pay more than $2.50 for a cup of coffee. I didn't say anything then because the lady was running around and I didn't want to disturb her. Instead, I thought I would stop by on another day and bring up the situation and ask for a free cup of coffee. That is exactly I did a couple weeks later. No other customers were in the store around 11 a.m.. A younger lady standing behind the register listened to my story. She told me she would ask the manager and get back with me. She went into the kitchen came back out and said, "Sorry but it isn't our policy to give a free cup of coffee." My first thought was, What? What did I just hear? Did she really just say that? I asked her if I could speak with the manager and the gal said she already had spoken with her. I asked for the manager's name. The gal reluctantly said, "Jen". You'd think it was some kind of secret. I couldn't believe the unprofessional behavior by the manager and cashier. I just walked out. Young people need to embrace good customer service. I've owned two businesses (one service and one retail) and I always took care of my customers. This kind of treatment at Sweetwater is what I would expect at a Starbucks..not a local owned business. I can't believe this shop not only lost my business for life, but now faces bad online reviews and word of mouth reviews. All for $2.50 cup of coffee this place couldn't right a wrong and satisfy a dissatisfied customer. TIMES SURE HAVE CHANGED. Find a nicer place to patron. read more

Growing up this was a favorite local spot of mine, and 10+ years later it's still great, if not better. I got the lavender honey latte with oat milk and it was probably the best lavender latte I've ever had. My partner got a plain latte with the smoked salmon bagel and said both were excellent. They also have gluten free bagels for $1 more which I thought was awesome and a really reasonable price. There is a lot of seating outside with a few tables inside. The local pottery was beautiful. It is a very laid back atmosphere and the girls running the front were very nice and quick to make orders even on a pretty busy Saturday. Definitely give this place a try and don't let the one star review below stop you (imagine expecting free coffee from a business LOL). read more

We visited twice during my recent trip to the area. They have some of the best chai! The first visit I got their classic chai latte. It was so good. The next visit I got mom's chai. I still loved the flavors from the house made chai, but it was served iced which watered it down. I wish I had specified I wanted it hot. Still enjoyed it and can't wait to return. read more

Was looking for a local coffee shop to try while driving through the area and I'm so glad I found this one! The cold brew cookie butter coffee I had was fabulous as well as the veggie quiche! The shop is quaint and cute with the sweetest girls working there to fill your orders. They also have a little shop inside selling some fun items like bowls, soaps, mugs, hats, etc. I definitely will be returning with friends and telling others this is a great place to stop. GREAT food! BAD service. The women asked me at the counter twice if I wanted hot or iced coffee. Both times I said iced. When the coffee came out it was hot. Normally I wouldn't ask to have it be remade but because I said ICED TWICE I expected it to be correct. Since they were already remaking it I asked to switch to a different drink. This drink didn't have whipped cream when the original one did so I assumed my remake was cheaper anyway. When I initially placed my order I asked for a side of whipped cream which I didn't receive. I figured I could just ask for my whipped cream from the original drink on the side -- since I had paid for it already. Instead they wanted to charge extra. I could tell the barista was annoyed she had to remake my drink even though it was their mistake to begin with. I'm not upset about paying for whipped cream but I'm upset with how the barista with glasses handled the situation and gave me bad attitude. read more
