Ordered on the app. We each got one of the advertised specialty drinks, the "oatly hazelnut matte black cold brew". App said the drinks would be ready in 4-7 minutes. Fiancé went in to get the drinks after we waited 10 minutes in the parking lot. Drinks were not even made yet. Place was not very busy, but she didn't question them. They made our drinks why she stood there, and noted that they didn't seem to be making them as advertised. She brought them out, we both tasted them, and both agreed we couldn't taste the oatly, the "sprinkle" of chocolate powder advertised was more like a dumping, and it overpowered the hazelnut completely. We both had a hard time identifying any hazelnut flavor in the drink at all. Overall, they weren't horrible, but definitely not what we were looking forward to. read more

EVERYTHING is so GOOD here! I got the caramel coffee(decaf) and it was a chilly day so the hotness made me feel nice and cozy. I also got a chocolate cookie and OMG it was huge and warm and the chips were oozing out. It has such a cool laid back vibe where you can meet with some friends or read a book while you enjoy your coffee. The staff( they're gonna kill me...I forgot their names) was sooo helpful and took their time to explain that they've been in business for ten years and then they explained that their ingredients were all natural and they can make any beverage into decaffeinated. I enjoy their coffee beans and flavor. Today I tried a new cold brew with CHOCOLATE FOAM!!! Well, it was to die for. I had it topped with salted caramel - again to die for! The best part.... not sweet. I don't use sugar in my coffee or espresso so I was worried of being slapped in the face with sugar - but it was a nice balance of chocolate flavor, thick velvet foam and a true salted caramel. Fall is my favorite season and once in a while I I I just like to treat myself to a delicious pumpkin coffee. This was the day and my 1st time to this establishment. It appeared to be a small but cheerful environment that offered lots of food & drink items. I ordered the pumpkin latte and was not impressed at all. Even though I had requested minimal sugar the coffee tasted watered down and the favor was more-so sweet than anything. I believe the 16 oz was $6-7. What a waste of time and money. I wasn't sure what to expect when signing myself on for a Yelp event that was probably about 45 minutes away thanks to the chaos of construction, but as a mom to 2 toddlers, I figured it had to be worth it for a nap time run. I had no idea how right I'd be! This place is tucked into the best combo of things in this plaza-sushi, Thai, Chinese, Dairy Queen, AND this gem?! You can't go wrong! On top of that, this interior is so perfectly cozy for a prolonged hang, and the team there are SO kind and helpful, Sweetwaters alone is good enough reason to come to the area. I had never been to a location previously, and said as much to the team and each and every one of them gave me awesome ideas and helped in narrowing down the incredible menu. I ended up going with a pistachio cold brew, and they told me exactly what they'd add to it before doing so, ensuring I was okay with the typical half and half they add (which of course was a YES). And this cold brew was the best thing I've ever had. I'm biased as I do love pistachio anything, but I'm officially obsessed. I also got the Parmesan leek croissant, as that's something else I'd never had elsewhere and it was phenomenal. Tastes almost like spinach artichoke dip, and the inside was so creamy and delicious I was sad to offer a bite to my toddler and for once them to say yes, AND want more. My mom has physical therapy across the street from here so it's become my treat myself as her chauffeur to place an order at Sweetwaters, pick it up, and sip and snack in my car while I'm waiting for her. Ordering is super easy through DoorDash and they are quick to fulfill. They package your entire order neatly in a to-go bag for easy grab and go from the counter just inside the door. FYI Since indoor dining is open right now there are folks inside eating and drinking without masks so if you're concerned about exposure they also offer curbside. This was my first visit today, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When I ordered my iced latte, I asked for whipped cream, but it wasn't added to my order (label). When I asked about it, the barista told me, "We don't put whipped cream on lattes." I explained that it would have been helpful to know that when ordering so I could have chosen something else. I ordered the Strawberry Fizz with the bubbles since we were in the mood for some boba tea. My drink was definitely a hit since it leans more over to the sweeter side. I definitely enjoyed the bits of fruit and the boba. I would totally order that drink again. My cousin had the matcha which was the exact opposite. There wasn't enough sweetness to it. I enjoyed the Spiced Caramel Apple with whipped cream. I wish the fall menu were available all year because I don't drink coffee. I had an informal meeting with someone, and because I take Covid precautions whenever possible, we had our drinks at one of the tables outside. It was fine until around the time school lets out, and groups of teens started being rowdy outside as well as at the Dairy Queen across from Sweetwaters. It turned me off from ever going there at that time again. The inside of the cafe is small too. A decent place for a takeout drink or sitting outside unless groups of teens start to congregate there. read more

My hubby was here for some business in the area today. He ordered and drank a peppermint mocha, his favorite there. This is one of the few coffee chains in the area he favors. It's in his top 3 spots for really good coffee. He has to make a stop if he comes across one of these locations wherever he goes. It's consistently good coffee and the service is quick. read more

I come here every Wednesday after work to meet with 12 other women for coffee. Everything I have gotten here has been the best. Especially the ice dragon mocha. I totally recommend that! I set up shop here for a couple days in a row while my WiFi was down and it was an overall great experience. Their lattes are my favorite. Hot tip: sign up for their rewards program! They also have really great food options, including tasty sandwiches and yummy pies and granola bars. I love how spread out the place is (especially now because of COVID). The staff are also very diligent about cleaning after someone leaves. There is plenty of room to plug in your laptop, as well. Another favorite part also might be the chalkboard wall. Just OK. I ordered a latte which was more bitter than I usually get from other places and I kept trying to improve the taste with a little sugar at a time, but then it was too sweet. I ended up throwing away $4 cup of coffee which is frustrating. I also ordered egg and cheese on a biscuit. The sandwiches are sitting pre-made in a case. While warming up my sandwich, they must of used a lot of butter because it was too greasy for my taste. The workers seemed to be good friends, and that for sure offers a great atmosphere and was one of my favorite things while I worked there (still good friends with some of my old coworkers there). This was a nice find. Turns out it's a chain, like Starbucks but not Starbucks. Oh, well, still cool. We avoid Starbucks when we can, and this place offers some of the sleekness and variety of that kind of place without quite being the same. What a nice change from the 'other' coffee shops that are all over the place and seem to be on every street corner. It was midday on a Sunday and we needed a little 'pick me up' between lunch and dinner. This was our second visit here and it's well deserving of a nice review. What did I like? Pretty much everything! As we walked through the door, we were immediately greeted with a friendly hello. The menu board was bright, nicely laid out and easy to read. The showcase of delicious desserts was spilling over with sweet goodness. There was plenty of seating unlike some other shops where you have to hope a table opens up or you have to take your drink to go because there's no place to sit. It was bright and cheery with plenty of daylight shining in. I really liked the modern, fresh look and the smiling, helpful and cheery people who waited on us and answered our questions before we ordered. I'd say without a doubt that this is my new favorite place to sit and enjoy a beverage and maybe a little dessert. The sad part for me.... we were visiting the area and there aren't any Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea locations in Macomb County. But we do visit this area often and I can say with confidence, we will return again and again. read more

Second time here in a few months. I was excited to have a coffee shop in the area, one with a great atmosphere--which this place has. Unfortunately I was treated like a nuisance. Not only was I not greeted (which I don't really mind) but when I asked a question about buying the quiche to the young barista I was scoffed at. She appeared annoyed that I even troubled her to ask. I know its tough to find dependable staff and good workers at this time, but this is the second time the person behind the counter was clearly in a visibly irritable mood (another person too). Not sure why they're so upset! I always give a place a few chances just in case it's an *off* day. However, after two bad encounters why would one not feel welcomed at a local coffee shop? Tasty stuff. Not cheap but very good. I am a tea drinker and this is one of the few coffee places that knows their way around happy tea. They have terrific cinnamon tea, usually if a place has terrific cinnamon tea that is what I get every time. Here though they have too many other teas I also really like. The Imperial black, the Darjeeling, the jasmine, the earl grey. I could go on and on. Not just hot tea either but incredibly lots of iced varietals. Heaven. Everything else I have sampled hete has pleased my palate. Don't even get me started on the dragon eye coffee made with *gasp* sweetened condensed milk or the many many treats I cannot (ok should not) eat. I try to stick with the tea. This is definitely some place I can see myself bringing my laptop to do some work or study at because it's bright but still cozy, and the variety of snacks is pretty impressive, but their coffee is just ok. I'm used to my espresso tasting pretty strong, Sweetwaters' espresso just doesn't taste strong enough. They had a Chinese New Year special drink that's a lychee imperial milk tea. I'm not sure if it's because the baristas don't really know how to make it or if that's the intended recipe, but it lacked flavor and I certainly couldn't taste the Lychee flavor in it. I'm not sure I would stop in Sweetwaters because I specifically want a coffee, but if I happened to be going to the post office next door, I may stop by for one because it's convenient. read more
