Refreshing chicken dishes! Service was fast and the cups of soups are only $1 on Sundays- perfect for a starter. Their yum yum sauce and sweet and sour sauce are different than at their t-town (the strip) location, so I was a little disappointed about that as I love yum yum sauce, but it was still good. Oh no. We tried it again Why? Because the place I wanted to go wasn't open. Mistake. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. I didn't know pigs were chickens. no , seriously, this didn't taste like chicken or even have the texture of any cut of chicken that I've ever had. This is my family's go to Chinese spot. We've been coming for 15 years. It's always consistently good. They will make your food as you want it. If you say low sodium, no sugar, breast meat only, they will accommodate you. The lunch specials include soup and an egg roll. The prices are great and I love their crispy chips. Ordered takeout here a couple of days ago. Got hung up on two times, but the eventual ordering experience and food redeemed the initial irritation (took one star off). They got my order right, despite my mom changing her mind a couple of times. Upon entry, the hostesses were wearing masks and had my order ready to go. The hot and sour soup is great. I really like the Orange Chicken. My wife likes the LoMain. I recommend going for lunch, which is available 7 days a week. You get a nice portion of main course, soup, white or fried rice and an egg roll. Most lunches are around $7.50. I ordered two meals and asked for a drink to go. When I picked it up, they forget my drink (partially my bad, it had been a long day after work) and I got home to discover my sauce had white mold on it. Needless to say, I was completely disgusted. I called them immediately because I didn't want anyone get sick or upset and the girl who answered seemed unconcerned. "Oh, we make it daily so it couldn't be bad! It might be meat or something else that came from the skillet if it's black." Great place for Chinese in the Northport area. The service is great and the food really enjoyable and the portions quite large. Some of the sauces aren't that distinguishable from one another, such as the sesame and General Tso's chicken. It's almost as if they just added spice to the sauce and called it General chicken. Still, most of their menu is quite tasty with few mediocre dishes. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable and the service quick and friendly. Left full but not my favorite. Ordered the Mongolian shrimp lunch special with egg drop soup and fried rice. Received half bowl of soup with waiter stating I could get more but they were out at the time. Then when our order was ready we were told it would be a few minutes because they were out of fried rice. When my entree came out it had so much soy sauce I could only eat a portion of it. I will stick with China Fun. Even though waiter was super nice and even brought my husband an extra egg roll at no extra charge. I realize Sunday is a busy day but be more prepared. read more

Literally hands down the best Chinese/Asian food in Tuscaloosa. The cumin beef is delicious and I could eat it every day! I had been going to the University Boulevard location until I figured out there was a Northport location close to my apartment that was the same! Reasonable prices, friendly staff. Ehhh.... Yet again I am dissatisfied. The place needs rehab. Paint the walls, fix the holes in the seats and please clean the menus. The only thing good about the place was the bowl of crispy wontons. The egg rolls were subpar and seemed as if they were deep fried twice (the second time for a reheat). I'm not so keen on Swen, but if I'm in the mood for a Chinese change-up, I'll stop here instead of Lai Lai. Not that Swen does anything wrong, but the slight chaininess and super-occasional lackluster service give some of the edge to the other guy. Their dinner portions are massive, for sure, but I don't think they keep well, especially anything breaded. A guilty fridge cleaning usually accompanies a Swen meal. Some entrees have been blah for me, including a honey chicken that was, essentially, honey and chicken. My girlfriend likes their cabbage (looks to me like unfermented kimchee) and feels fine as a vegetarian there. I just have yet to be truly impressed. read more
