I tried to work with Swift Restoration. Someone visited us (and I must say I didn't find their walk-through as detailed), and then it took longer than expected to get an estimate/quote. I followed their instructions and got whole house professionally tested again and sent new reports. Despite multiple, kind follow up emails, I didn't hear back about a new estimate for over two weeks. We chose Michael to complete a minor mold remediation project in two areas of the house (living room window, bedroom closet). Michael is easy going, affable, and knowledgeable about home construction and how it relates to mold. His was one of multiple companies recommended by our inspector, and we chose him -- even though he wasn't the cheapest -- based on the expertise he demonstrated during his onsite visit in explaining the project scope and potential causes and ruling out other theories, which was helpful regarding the one area with highest mold reading, as we weren't sure where the mold had come from due to lack of any moisture detected or a clear smoking gun. Throughout the project, he was always clear and analytical about explaining next steps and options (now or future). Upon arrival, his crew was professional and helpful in moving some large pieces of furniture (e.g., mattress) around the house. They set up sturdy looking containment sites and protected our floors. There were up to 4-5 people onsite to expedite the demolition work, and they preserved original pieces of wood upon our request to help with the repair process, marking which ones they found mold on. In subsequent days, a couple guys would be there to perform the wire scrubbing and manage the air scrubbers. For progress updates, Michael was generally communicative but sometimes would need a little chasing. His partner Ido was very responsive when we needed an extra ping. One wrinkle in the project involved the discovery of mold in a small, adjacent area, found only after one of the two locations failed the follow up inspection. Michael's crew came back to remediate that area as part of the original scope, and we passed after the 2nd follow up inspection. In some ways, this review ought to be a 4/5 since a more thorough remediation job might have found that upon first pass, but I appreciated that Michael was professional throughout our exchanges about how to handle the issue. I'm a renter, not a homeowner so maybe that's why my experience was different. It started out great, with good communication. However, I never received confirmation that the work was done and that I could return home. Text and voicemail left unanswered over 2 days. Keys never returned; I had to have the locks changed. How do you not return someone's keys?! At the very least, leave them on the counter when you're done. And to top it off they ruined the paint on the ceiling. They had taped up tarps or plastic to separate my things from the area they were working in. When they took those down, the paint ripped off the ceiling. And it was just left like that. No one tried to fix it, communicated that they caused damage or anything. Now I have to spend more time with property maintenance to have that fixed. If you need this service, you would be foolish to go anywhere else. If you are looking for responsive, polite, empathetic, respectful, fast and honest service, consider yourself lucky to have come across Swift Restoration. First - to provide a little context of my review...I own several properties. I have dealt with every service provider over the past 20 years you can imagine, including restoration providers. So, I speak from a lot of experience in dealing with vendors. And there are many good vendors out there. But every once in a while, you get the fortune to run into the EXCEPTIONAL vendor...and this is IDO. Here's my experience as proof: I had a property that flooded from a dishwasher leak. This was in a rental so more stressful for me as it involved really inconveniencing a tenant paying good rent. Found Swift Restoration through YELP. Called. Had my call returned immediately. Ido came out immediately. My tenant said Ido was polite and enjoyable. We got the bid promptly to remediate the situation and hired him. Ido was willing to come out immediately to do the work. So basically, Ido was always available and very prompt. My tenant said Ido's crew could come the next day. Ido showed up with his crew the next day as we asked. My tenant then changed his mind AFTER Ido showed up with his crew and didn't want the crew there - yikes! Ido didn't blink an eye. Was very empathetic to the tenant's stress and the situation (having your house flood is never a fun situation) and pulled his crew off. I offered to pay him for the trouble and he didn't accept. He just said "it's okay - just let us know when you want us to come back". Wow. THEN...I found out my insurance deductible was SO HIGH that I now needed to pay for everything out of pocket...and my two go to contractors said they would come put everything back together (drywall, insulation, painting, trim,...) ONLY if they would be given the remediation portion of the project as well (basically it wasn't worth their time if they couldn't take profit on the remediation part as well). These contractors aren't jerks...everyone's just busy and they would have to take resources off other projects to help me out. I had already signed a contract with Ido to do the remediation part....so what a dilemma... Reached out to Ido and explained my situation and how it was going to have to all come out of my own pocket...and how my contractors weren't willing to do the finish work without taking the profit on the remediation work. And how I felt comfortable with these two contractors as they have been my go to contractors for years and really wanted them to do the work. Ido graciously agreed that it made sense for my contractors to do all the work in my situation. He was completely understanding and empathetic. Incredible. USE CAUTION: Wasted Time Communication was so poor we never were able to get to working with them. They were referred by State Farm agents because of the recent storm. Their communication has been nothing but unreliable and waste of time. Ido responded and initially gave me promises he would contact us to meet on a specific date but never showed. When given a second attempt, he sent Michael to come out and give us an estimate. Michael showed up and inspected the house, but NEVER informed us there is a week or longer wait time for water leak drying equipment. He also NEVER sent us the estimate that he promised to send us after the visit. He claims he sent it to the email, but we NEVER saw it. So we gave him a 2nd email address in which he promised to let me know when he would send again. Which he still never did. Great job! Recently had Ido and his crew here to help with a water damage issue in my 87-year-old mother's bathroom. Ido was great to work with, everything from returning calls promptly, to being right on time for meetings and work, to being very respectful of my mom's age and living space. Swift Restoration is great. Our condo had mold from a water leak from the washing machine. The first company, Dry Kings, looked at the space and agreed the wood floor needed to be removed. The floor is engineered wood on cork and the leak had been there for at least several days. They quoted $14,000 for a damaged area less than 100 sq ft. At the end of the first day we were shocked when they instead had put big blowers in the space that they said would dry the floor out. After 5 days the floor was still saturated with water with zero change in the moisture level readings. Engineered wood with cork underneath does not dry out this way when the cork is saturated with water. It was a huge waste of time and pretty aggravating. We fired them and hired Swift. Swift came in, removed the floor and cleaned up the mold that had developed behind the walls. They went beyond by removing some hard-to-reach areas where mold had started to grow. They did a thorough job in 2.5 days. They do not overcharge, to say the least. Very grateful that this company exists. read more

Consummate professionals. We had a few spots of mold on our ceiling in our new home and called for a consultation. He came after regular office hours (the only time we were home) and within seconds of seeing the mold, asked to see the outside of the house. There he identified that the areas of mold were perfectly aligned with the openings our attic that allow airflow into the house. The cold air from outside and hot air from the inside caused a temperature differential that was causing water to condense in those specific areas on our ceiling.
