This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at; practically a flop house. A beautiful old building…read morethat is very run-down. Had to call to get someone to come check us in. They keep the room keys in lock boxes on the door knobs. Used the elevator once when the owner took us to the room but didn't trust it after that. Everything was grubby and there were no wash clothes, extra toilet paper, soap, etc. The bathroom fixtures were stained and there was no hot water. Front door is open all night and most of the place seems to be low income housing. If I'd had any options I wouldn't have stayed. The topper is that I had prepaid through Travelocity in June and the day after the stay my card was charged an extra $86.00. There was nothing redeeming about this hotel.

But when I when I woke…read moreup the next morning I was covered in a rash so when i got home i went to the doctor and he said I had been bit by bed bugs. I immediately call an exterminator because I did not want them in my house needless to say they were in my house already. I also contacted the Linnell Hotel to let them know what was going on and they denied everything! Today I have a letter formally going to the hotel and the health department of Rumford, ME informing them of the situation. Please do not stay here, bed bugs are very hard to get rid of and I do not want anyone else to go through what we went through!
