I bought my HVAC system with a different company that was purchased by Swift but continued to use their services and purchased a service plan. The service was good and the people are nice but it is constant sales pressure to buy a new system or items that are simply not needed and incredibly expensive. The technician was great. However this company is not true to their word. I called for a quote and was told that the fee for coming out would be waived and they would give me a quote when they looked at the issue. I was told i needed a new air handler and was charged for the visit after being told it was waived. I went with this company because they were willing to waive that fee only to still be charged $49.00. I have called multiple times to try to resolve this with a manager and have been ignored and my calls not returned. read more

his company has turned into huge ripoff. I've used them and their predecessor for almost 6 years with good results. In the past few years, every time a tech arrives for a routine service call, there is a salesman who shows up to try to sell me a new unit. Recently, I had a fan motor fail on my 12 year old package unit. I knew from research the original equipment motor cost about $600 and an aftermarket could be purchased for $350. I expect a markup from a service company - but I was quoted $2,000 for the motor itself! The salesman says "well, we could change out your old unit with a new one for only $10,800, and you would have a 10 year warranty". I told them I'd think about it. I then bought the aftermarket motor recommended by the local supplier and swapped it myself. Works great. It took an hour of my time, but I was glad to do that. I'm just thankful I can still do these things myself. After I swapped the motor, I called and fired Swift. I will never use them again. read more

After their first response about wanting to send out a salesman and my reply back outlining what I was looking for exactly. I never heard back from them. So I hired another company to do the generator installation, change out my arc fault breakers, replace all our gfi's, repair our driveway / walkway lamp post and run underground electrical cable to my shed and install a breaker panel, outlets and lighting. Was so satisfied with their response, follow up and estimate they are now on the preferred electrician list for the condominium complex I work for. read more

I live in Pawleys Island. I had a service call on 9/6/25. The technicians used scare tactics and told me it would be 11,000 to replace the ducts. I had a small part that was malfunction, and they charged me over 400 and talked me into the service contract for 200. I felt uneasy and called a local HVAC guy who would have charged me 185 for the part and service call and reassured me that while my ductwork wasn't perfect it wasn't imminent to replace and would not make me sick!! I tried to reach out several times that same day to get a refund for the service contract and no one responds. I even texted the technician who has not responded to my call. I would not recommend them for anyone!! I felt taken advantage of and wasn't happy with the fear they instilled to upsell me an $11,000 replacement system. read more

This company is misleading. They sold us a air conditioning/heat pump split system at the price of $11.000. The representative for the company specifically mentioned that the unit that they were installing had the energy efficiency necessary to qualify for a 2025 tax credit. At the end of the day the unit does not have the high energy efficiency level to qualify for a tax credit, and NOT ONLY that, the invoice that they provided us with- is totally misleading. It does NOT indicate how much we paid for the unit itself, for taxes AND for installation. Something like that does not meet SC expectations for tax disclosure and billing transparency and they probably give those invoices without details for their own tax benefits. I advise anyone to stay away from this company. They will be very quick to respond, especially if you have an emergency, but they will give you false information and literally disappear after the sale. read more

Beware Swift Services. $24,000+ for a 1800 sq. ft.house HVAC. The are deceptive and untrustworthy. They took advantage of us during a cold spell telling us our outside unit was not working and we were on emergency power. They could do a temporary fix but we needed a need system. We agreed to the new system and was quoted in the area of $12,000+ (way over priced it turns out should have been no more than $8,000). Put a contract on a tablet in front of me to sign. I trusted then and signed, my mistake. They increased the capacity of the unit without telling me. Why? This led to the need for new duct work. Verbal estimate: $3,000. Billed: $10,000+. Excuse: their salesman mis-spoke. Stuck the contract infant of me on may way to an appointment. I signed trusting the estimate was legit. It wasn't. If you deal with them...be aware! read more

Two years ago I watched, noted possible mistakes during an install. Yesterday, 2 years later my unit was dripping water. An appointment was made and I carefully implied I needed a tech that knew of all these situations. I spent the night using up all my towels soaking up water. I turned off all breakers thinking about a possible short or fire from the water all over the lower part of the unit. I had no problem waiting until 5pm the next day. Swift unfortunately sent me a tech that knew nothing of checking, fixing nor unclogging a drainage line. He went outside an shop vacuumed the drain exit, but never cleared the clogged drain line. He told me I needed a plumber. Well, I spent another (fright) night w/o A/C and a larger drip, Drip, DRIP, using up all my new & freshly cleaned towels. I made a call and text, as the water was starting to come from under the walls and into my living room and closet. I swore Never, NEVER to talk to, or recommend Swift. Grossly over charged I have a regular service maintenance plan with Swift. On the last visit the tech came out and recommended an additional Air scrubber, I already had a UV light air cleaner that they installed when they replaced my heat pump and air handler less than two years ago. My wife has coughing problems so I was interested. The tech said it was $2200. My interest fell. Then he called the office and they agreed to drop the price to $1900. So I agreed. However, I got a phone quote from a five star HVAC for same unit of $900. installed. $800. if a maintenance contract customer. Swift returned call and and knocked $250. off as credit applied to renewal of maintenance program. As the air scrubber is installed I don't have much choice. It will be my last year with Swift. Coughing continues. Don't know if any advantage to this. read more

One star is too generous to give this company. I had been a customer for quite some time and called them to replace my vacation cottage's A/C because they had previously replaced my A/C 9 years ago. They came over and provided an estimate for a 2.5 ton 14 seer unit for $9100.00 which was their "value model." The next level was 13K and the highest was 15K. My cottage is 800 square feet, and the A/C they quoted was a Goodman, which is not a good brand! They offered two others, which were of the same quality (Rheem and Heir). I called two other companies that were referrals from friends and one owns a cottage in my development. Their estimates for the same size unit, one a Tran Run Tru and the other a Carrier Tempstar was $4800.00 and $6250.00! The other reviews on yelp that experienced the same issues are true, so I would be careful with the "5 star reviews" they have depicted. They attempted to take advantage of me because I was going to head to the Beach for 10 days for Memorial Day and the A/C wasn't working (I live in Florida). They were blowing up my phone with emails and texts and when I responded, calling them out on what they did, what do you know...Crickets. They are untrustworthy and dishonest in my opinion. people are always quick to complain when something goes wrong . But in our case a local heating & air-conditioning company really stepped up. We have had a very tough year as around the same time that we needed a heat pump, our veteran son decided to take his own life due to PTSD. Needless to say we lost track of everything in our lives and struggled just to function. We noticed the heat pump had some issues, but it was really not something we could focus on at the time. This year , with the cold, it seemed to be having more problems. At that point we contacted Swift heating & air, the company that installed our new unit, and asked for someone to come look at the machine. When they heard all we had been thru they went above and beyond helping us to remedy this problem, it shows that when you see their comfort guarantee, it really is true. I would never hire these people again. They came out to my house told me a bunch of things are wrong with my unit. That was only five years old took pictures sent them to me and gave me an estimate for like $10,000 had to hire another person the following day who came out and said there was nothing wrong with my system. The pictures that they took they don't understand how they got them because, the tape that was holding the door was never removed and that's the only way they could've gotten those pictures. The pictures they gave me a different unit not mine instead of paying $10,000. So I got a service window of noon to 4pm. Had to quit working so I could let the serviceman in. So I wait, and wait and FINALLY at 4pm I get a text, your serviceman is on his way. He tells me he got tied up on the two service jobs ahead of mine, I asked if he let the office know and he said he did. So how come SWIFT SERVICE couldn't call or text customers that they're delays? I lost 4 hours of work when SWIFT SERVICE took it upon themselves their time was more important that their customers during these difficult times? If you are using this service, after getting a service window I'd call every 1/2 hour to make sure they have someone coming and get an ETA! read more

I hate not being home when people have to come inside it for a service. We are currently selling our condo so we have boxes packed but not closed and some things out that usually have it's own space. Well today swift came in to my home. I luckily had the camera on inside so I could witness the behavior of one of the technicians. He was walking around looking at our stuff. Pulling on the blinds/doors and even smoking his vape! Now if I was there I'm 100% sure he wouldn't have done any of that. It is so unprofessional not to mention beyond rude! Middle of last year, Swift purchased A-1 Comfort Systems and branched into Florence. My interactions up until last Saturday, 1/22/2022, were favorable. If you live in Florence, then you know by evening we have sleet, and it was cumulating and sticking to the ground and the temperatures were dropping all day and into the evening. Now the heating system turned 3 years old this month. We were toasty all evening long. Retired for the evening and overnight the sleet turned to snow, and the temperature dropped into the 20's. Woke up at 5 PM Saturday morning and noticed the house was chilly and I look at the thermostat and the house dropped to 64. From 70 when we went to sleep. Looked out the window and saw the 4" of snow. Increased the heat setting, which indicated heat on, up to 1 degree from 70 and nothing engaged. Thank goodness for gas log fireplaces. Turned them on so the central part of the home had warmth. Immediately called Swift to report the situation. That was at 5:20 AM. Spoke with a woman by the name of Candy. She asked me for my address twice, name and call back number twice. Informed her I was a member and had a just renewed my service and annual Maintenace was performed 2 weeks ago, and there were no issues. But I needed someone to look at the unit, since the entire house was cold, and forecast for the weekend was nothing but freezing temperatures. She replied I reported and entered the information, and someone will contact me about more information. Now it is 7:30 Am, no call. Called Swift again, and Candy answered again. Informed her no one contacted me, and the house was bitter cold. She looked into the system and said my information is in the system and reported and someone will be in touch. Now it is 10:30 AM, and I have not received a call from a SWIFT tech. I call again, but this time a man answered. Wish I could remember his name, he understood the severity of the problem and was apologizing for the lack of service. He did tell me the earlier reports were not appearing in the system. All I know, less than 5 minutes after talking to him, a service tech called me. Why did my earlier calls go unanswered when the internet advertises open 24 hours? Now for the service tech. When I told him I had been reporting the problem since 5:20 AM and we were convening in the room with the gas logs because the remainder of the house was unbearable to stay in; he gave me the following reply: "stay in front of the fireplace and bundle up." I let it go. Then he told me he would get to me, but there were two other homeowners ahead of me. Asked him why he did not call me earlier than now, he replied, he just received the information. He proceeded to tell me the answering service was not local it was out of the county. Sorry, Dude, Candy was not out of the county, she was southern, as fried chicken and gravy. Asked him to estimate when he felt he would get to my location. He replied sometime this afternoon. Really! He proceeded to tell me they were closed right now and due to weather conditions; they were waiting for the roads to clear. Okay, so now all of the doctors, nurses and medical personal in Florence made it in for their 7 AM shift Saturday morning, but the SWIFT tech cannot drive the company vehicle until afternoon, when the roads have been melting away since 9 AM. It was a mere 4" of snow, not 4'. Now for the finally. At 12:30 PM the unit engages and starts pumping heat out of every vent. The heating gods or goddess heard my pleas and prayers. Shortly afterwards the tech called to tell me he was on his way. Informed him what occurred, and he wanted to know if I still wanted him to complete the service call. Informed him, "YES, do not need the unit to stop working again this evening with the bitter cold freezing temperatures." When he arrived, he looked at the unit. Gave me a diagnosis and told me what to do if it happens again and to call him. By the way, the unit has been running fine since the heat gods and goddesses placed their healing hands on the unit. read more

Tim and Seth were my installers. They were absolutely amazing everyday, all day. They installed the ductwork for central air and heating in my 80 year old attic and did an outstanding job. They were careful to leave as much space as they possibly could for storage and chose the perfect spot to place the compressor outside. Tim and Seth were punctual, polite and professional. They went above and beyond to place the vents in positions that were both esthetic and optimally functional, and at the end of each day they were very considerate in cleaning up any mess that they made. The soot from my old furnace was just horrible. They swept and wiped surfaces to make sure that they left my home as they found it each day. They were also considerate with covid protocol. I never had to figure out what they accomplished each day as at the end of each day I signed off on their work and was given a copy. I have never had a more rewarding experience with anyone working in my home. These guys were top notch. Swift is an amazing company. They don't mess around. Hey, but guess what? The price was absolutely amazing as well, and the workmanship flawless. I am so pleased with my new system. The process from beginning to end was just a joy. I'm not kidding. Swift left a flyer in my mailbox. The deal sounded too good to be true, so I said, " What the heck. Nothing beats a failure but a try." I called. The next day Ward showed up to assess our 80 year old home. He was congenial, knowledgeable and professional. I jumped at the opportunity and the rest is history. We were customers of East Coast Air, and when they were taken over by Swift we went along with their recommendation. We had one interaction in January where they didn't seem to have our records. This week they lost our business.Our air stopped working on Memorial Day (of course) and so we called their 24 hour number. It was answered promptly and we were given an appointment for the next afternoon. After being out the next morning, we returned to a phone message saying the appointment had been made in error and we should call to reschedule. Tried calling back to the individual who gave us the message (Karen) and her voice mail was full. Called again and left on hold. The third time the receptionist went physically over to Karen to get her to answer. She then scheduled us for EXACTLY THE SAME TIME AS THE ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT! We then got a email confirming the appointment (without a time being listed.) We then got an email listing the COVID-19 precautions that would be taken by the tech (mask, gloves, shoe coverings). When the tech arrived, he had none of the above protections. He took one look at our unit, said we had a leak, and charged us $200 for a freon refill. He said the office (Karen) would get back to us to set up an appointment to have the system checked for leaks. Two days later, crickets from Karen. Today we call and ask to speak to Karen - she's at lunch and will return by 12:30 and call us back. At 1:00 she's not called, so we call back and she's unavailable. We have since called another company. While all this was going on, I got several emails addressed from Swift asking for feedback, which I gave. Interestingly enough, the email messages had no company name in the blank on the form - obviously it is some sort of automatic response thing they hadn't bothered to update. read more

Don't follow the snowman! You'll be left in the cold if you do!! During the cold spell in January & February my heat stopped working. When I called I was told they couldn't see me right away because of the demand and they wanted to get to the elderly first (understandably so). They said they'd call me within 5 business days but didn't. I waited 7 business days then called to remind them but was still pushed off. When they finally contacted me they expected me to be at my home but being that I work I couldn't. So, I had to take time off work at least 3 times only for the problem not to be fixed. It took 5 techs & maybe 7-8 times to try and figure out what was wrong w my unit. I was charged for labor and parts that did not fix the problem. To "save money" they recommended that I buy their service plan. However, it didn't help; I was still paying for things that weren't needed or worked to fix the unit. (When I asked for a refund when they couldn't fix the problem, they told me that they don't like to give refunds.) When I said my home insurance would pay for their services I was told by the manager, Shane, that insurance payments take at least 3 months to get and are too inconvenient for him and he wanted me to pay as services were rendered. Otherwise, they wouldn't come out to fix it. In addition, they lied about calling the manufacture for help. How do I know, the business that fixed my unit had called and were told that Shane nor his staff called. Frustrated and cold, I went to another local business for a second opinion. With 2 techs and 3 visits my unit was fixed! Ironically enough, the solution to the problem wasn't what Swift said but a fast and inexpensive fix! I do not recommend Swift unless you want poor customer service, expensive charges, dishonesty and your problem not fixed. Shame..Shame..Shaaaame on you Swift!!! read more
