I don't know why ppl like this place sorry. I have given it a few tries and it has been awful all the way around. I was there almost 2 hours today for just a sandwich. The service is terrible. Unless there was only 2 servers for the whole place I don't know what the problem is. The food, not good. I don't know what I ordered the other times but I remember being unimpressed. Today I had a Reuben sandwich. It was so soaked in fake butter that I felt dipped in grease when I was done and had a very upset stomach. My friend wasn't happy with her food either and the ppl next to us were very upset with the service...oh did I mention there was a person sat in the seat directly next to me? We were on the from patio and they sat 11 ppl there! A party of five and my friend and I arrived at the same time and I was fine with that...then they sat 4 more ppl with a man directly next to me on the bench seat. Not bad but not great. The sweet potato tots were good. The scotch egg was over cooked. Should have had a soft center, not a fully cooked egg. Not much flavor and was dry from over cooking it. Bottom line: Carnivore-friendly. Go for the appetizers and selection of hot dogs and sausages. Recommend starting off with the beer cheese and pretzels. The cheese is mild and more importantly there's a good cheese to pretzel ratio. You know, when you run out of cheese before the pretzels are half eaten? We've all been there. Not a problem at Swig! The Cleveland dog was my favorite, although its tempting to try the Chicago as well (see photo). For a Chicago frequenter such as myself, it's hard to find a good dog around here. Theirs helps take care of my Windy City craving. HIGHLY recommend the duck reuben sammich as well (see photo). Finally got to try this place! Thanks yelpers! But before I start my review, let me say that I'll probably be back here to give it another try. The place maybe seats 20-30? (Minus the bar and the outdoor patio). Kind of tight but not as bad as you'd think when you walk in. My personal opinion, it might get a bit too crowded if you come in with a group. The service. We had great service. Our waitress was very friendly, but she was also super busy, so our refills were a bit lacking, but it's no biggie. I'm hoping that if it was less busy things would have been different. The food. It was good. Nothing spectacular though. I felt that the sandwiches could have used more meat. Got plenty of empty bites. Fries were good. Had a couple of soggy ones, but couldn't finish even half of them, way too salty. The little fried cheese poppers were great. Made with paper jack cheese and had a dip that complimented it well. Price was not bad. You're looking at about $10 a person (sans alcohol). Next time I'd like to try their chicken chunks. First "big move" from the Windy City Chicago to quaint, historic city of Perrysburg, and I am a fan of the first bar I hit up. That is good news, my friends! I went to catch a basketball game. I can't seem to remember who was playing but I do remember having a good time! Although, I do remember shaking my head at the guy next to me who told me he was a Lakers fan. I LOVE their constantly changing beers on tap. And not just "whatever" beers...but good beers...for "beer snobs" such as myself. Like Bells Oberon, Lagunitas, Kwak and Fin Du Monde just to name a few. "Like" them on Facebook if you want to keep up with their current beer list since it's not in the website. I can't say much about the food since I just came for 3-10 beers on a random Thursday night but I am definitely excited to try some of their stuff out, and sit in their outside patio area. Specifically would love to try the hot dogs that they make "in-house" and their reverse wings (chicken wings drenched in blue cheese served with a side of hot sauce...HUH-WHAT?!). Was staying right near Perrysburg the final night of my stay in Toledo and came across this place on Yelp. Once I saw the picture of the # of craft beer taps it became a no brainer for me. As I wandered into downtown, I realized something was going on (local vendors, tents, etc) and was lucky to find a parking spot around the corner. The establishment itself was rather busy with all tables inside and all taken (live music on the patio) but I was lucky enough to snag a spot at the bar. The beer selection was indeed pretty sweet and with options for 10 and 16oz pours for most beers. Service from the bartender was a bit sporadic due to the hectic nature of the place but she certainly tried her best to keep up with everything. I ended up having 3 beers and the sausage sampler platter and my only problem was trying to decide which was better, good problem to have I suppose. I tried the kielbasa, chicken sausage and andouille. The chicken sausage was super lean and a bit small compared to the other 2 but still good nonetheless. The other 2 were great tasting (andouille is pretty spicy) and the mustardy house sauce was a very good complement. Dunno what the dressing was specifically that came w/the sweet potato fries but man, it was pretty awesome. All in all, excellent place, memorable, and I assure you I'll be back in a couple weeks when I return to the area again. read more

Swig has gotten a lot of hype on Yelp for some time now, so I thought I should give it a shot. It has the feel of a modern gastropub with slight wisps of hipster bar mixed in. I was there for lunch on a work day, so I didn't drink. But it did look like they had an extensive selection of craft and domestic draughts to select from, as well as a stocked beer fridge, which is always a good draw in my opinion. I ordered the Frankenstein wings; these bad boys are fried and tossed in a mixture of their hot garlic parm, ranch, and bleu cheese crumbles, a variable smorgasbord of great wing toppings. Now, okay wings are easy to do, but good wings are few and far between, and while these weren't the best wings I've ever eaten, they were certainly up there. I also got a side of the sweet potato tots, which were served with a very good sauce. I cleaned both my plates...need I say more? I give swig 4 stars because it had good food and a good atmosphere. The only minor knock I have is that while our waitress was very attentive, the food took quite awhile to get to us. read more

I kind of pictured the place as larger inside than it was; It caught us by surprise. It is fun with a very unusual menu. Plenty of draft selection but the bar is not fully stocked...it's decent even though they didn't have my Yukon Jack or Red Stag. My lovely wife had beer cheese bratwurst soup. We together shared pierogies and a bacon wrapped chili dog and the fresh cut fries. Service by Abby was attentive and knowledgeable we shared that with the manager indicating she was an asset to the establishment. So many times we go to a place and the bartender is simply ....robotic. .....not so with Abby, she made sure we knew she was our bartender and she was on top of things. The ketchup that came with the fries was specialty... some type of Ketchup I've never had before, and it was a pleasant surprise. Let's end this with ...very clean bathrooms. read more

I have heard about this place from so many friends however I never went because of how terrible the owner's other restaurant down the street was. We were sat by the windows and he window sill as a seat? Very uncomfortable and you sit too high for the table height. We moved of course. We decided to see what everyone was talking about. We order the Hot Feta Dip, which was surprisingly good. Not spicy but good. The crisp Naan was the perfect compliment. For main dishes we ordered; Smokey Italian. Shaved ribeye with smokey BBQ Aioli, provolone cheese peppers and onions on marbled rye. This sandwich was one of the best sandwiches we have ever had. The chips fresh fried were good, not great, some crisp some soggy which is typical when selling fresh fried chips. I loved them. Sausage Platter. I had three choices; Bratwurst, Kielbasa, and Italian sausages. The mustard was an amazing French's mustard and honey. I loved the flavor. This was accompanied with fried pierogis. These were pretty bland. Now the sauerkraut, it was one of the best I have had. I don't mean to be disrespectful however I don't think the Sausages were made fresh they were OK to good. I dont think would do sausages here again. This is my opinion only. I have eaten many homemade sausages and these were pretty basic. Even though the food was not all great, I loved the service and most of what we had. I can't wait to go back and try other sandwiches. I probably won't be trying any of the sausages. You really can't go wrong with a visit to Swig. It all starts with the location of downtown Perrysburg, follow that up with a unique menu, fair price, quality brews on tap, live music, etc. I've tackled many of their hot dogs and all of them have been delicious and unique. It's places like this the Toledo area needs more of, in my opinion. If you live in Toledo and gripe about yet another chain restaurant opening up instead of the truly unique in the area, then this place needs to jump to the top of your list...toot sweet. Having said that, you'll probably decide to go to Packo's or Rudy's, because, you know, it's easy, *etc. --*MY etc. could've turned into a bashing Toledo rant, but i digressed. Went for an impromptu lunch date on a Monday afternoon and I enjoyed it! My boyfriend and I each got a small beer (goose island Matilda and bells Oberon) which were both good, but I suspect their beer may be too warm... I also watch a lot of Bar Rescue so I could be wrong about their beer temp haha. But regardless, we were impressed with the beer tap selection! Woulda had more beer if it weren't 1:30 on a Monday haha. As for the food, it all sounded so good, fresh, and unique! I literally just moved to Perrysburg from Chicago, so I was intrigued by the "Chicago" hotdog. However, I am saving that for another day. What we did get were the reversed wings and the fresh fries. I got these based on past reviews and was not disappointed! The reversed wings (chicken wings covered in blue cheese sauce with buffalo sauce on the side!) were so good and came out piping hot. I couldn't get enough - yum! And I thought they were pretty unique! The fries were less unique but still good! The special ketchup wasn't that great in my opinion, but I appreciate the diversity in condiments. Overall, we were pleased with our spontaneous first visit. Nice patio seating. Beware of the nearby train tracks!! The menu here is great. A lot of good sandwich and sausage options. I had a hard time deciding on what to get. I finally opted for some chicken "chunks" ( boneless/skinless chicken) it's their variation of boneless wings. My husband ordered the Italian sausage with onion and peppers on a roll. We also ordered the handcut fries with their own homemade ketchup. Well, I was expecting GREAT.... And got average, or really a bit below average. Unfortunately, the chicken was barely warm and the fries were as well. ( I suspect sitting too long under a heat lamp!) also my husband's Italian sausage was missing the onions. We sent that back to add the onions. We also had no silverware and had to wait a bit for the server to bring it to us. By the time that arrived so we could eat the chicken... It was cold. The Italian sausage had a really good flavor and was enjoyed. Everything else???, well, let's just say I wouldn't be rushing back here. The service was ok, the server was pleasant and besides having to wait for eating utensils, she was attentive. They have a craft beer selection, which was nice. I'd probably give this place another go when in the area, but I would hope the food was hot. Great beer selection and we love their wings. Also, people don't mention this a lot, but their housemade lemonades are fantastic. I usually ask beforehand if they're using a syrup or actual fruit...they're always honest about it. My favorite is the strawberry lemonade. I also get mine with a shot of vodka. We're a fan of their Frankenstein chicken chunks with extra blue cheese (chunks are a thing here in Toledo, we have learned) and their Asian wings which are spicy yet addictive. Every time we get their sandwich special, we're a little disappointed so we usually stick with the same food options. The beers on tap are always rotating - sometimes you have to ask for a list if it's not on the table. I've tried some small batch flavors from my favorite local breweries here, which is a huge plus. read more

Curious offerings... In a good way. Sat outside for lunch and got to take in their nice downtown area. Started with Scotch eggs. Didn't know quail eggs were so big, but these were pretty good. Didn't taste the sausage that was supposed to be in them. The bed of salad with the jardinera made a bonus app. For my main, had the duck rueben. Nicely prepared with smoked and corner duck paired with sweet and sour cabbage. Very, very, tasty. So many choices of sandwiches for next time. Cute bar in downtown Perrysburg! Not too crowded on a Friday around lunch, we quickly found seats at the bar. Bartender was friendly & got us all of the beer & food we ordered promptly, she also kept checking on us & chatted us up a little, just being Ohio friendly. Drinks = I had a pineapple beer & a raspberry-peach. Cool thing is you can order a 5oz pour. So just in case you get a bitter beer, hey it's only 5oz to not be a party pooper then you can move on to the next kind. There were 17 beers on tap today! Lots of choices!!! So back to my 2 beer choices above. The pineapple was too sweet, almost like a juice. The raspberry-peach was way too tart. I drank them both until 1/2 empty then poured them together! Viola, it was a wonderful fruity summer beer! Guys I was with tried everything stout & dark, no complaints from them. Near the end one of the guys asked for a mead, she had blueberry mead in a bottle which he had & liked. Food = started with Jamaican jerk chunks, served with ranch & blue cheese. They were just ok I guess. Also had a side of sweet potatoes tots, these were good! And served with a teriyaki ginger mayo type dip that was pretty darn good. 3rd choice of food was the large pretzel and charcuterie board. Pretzel came out piping hot and with stone ground type of mustard, there was also cheese, meat, dipping cheese, olives & pickles on it, very good to share. Was in Toledo/Perrysburg today for work and went to Yelp to find a new place to eat lunch and found this gem. Swig exceeded my expectations and I was very happy with the entire experience. The service was great from door to door. The building and the decor are unique, inviting, and extremely clean. The beers were cold and they got a wide range on tap. Lots of food items to pick from the menu that I would like to try in the future so I will definitely be back again. I would recommend Swig to anyone who lives in the area or anyone passing through that wants to eat local instead of the standard chain same meal. read more

Great place. Very nice selection of beers. Small place but love the small feel. Usually gives me a different feel knowing that most small spots pay attention. This did not disappoint. Chipotle ketchup was very good!!! Service was good too. I know...those two things don't go together, but somehow they do in my mind. Quality food. Lots of fries. Only knock would be the excessive up charges of cheese, bacon, and fries. It really isn't necessary. The house versus fries can't cost much different. Menu was just big enough. Swig is delicious if you want classic pub food and a big beer list. The chicken chunks are really good and all the sauces are worth getting multiple flavors because you gotta try them all. The restaurant is cramped unless the patio is open though. If you want to sit at a table that is essentially right up against another table then you're fine but that gets annoying. read more

I miss Swig! I first found this lovely pub when I started massage school a few years ago and their butter burger is something I crave like that WIMYM episode! Beyond the most amazing burger I've ever had in my life, the bartender was extremely helpful in letting me try craft brew samples until I found one I wanted. She not only knew what they had, but what each one tasted like. Kept going back whenever I could. Cannot wait to head out that way again just to pop in for my butter burger! read more
