When we switched from Group to Private lessons, our son improved leaps and bounds every single week. She is fun and smart and helpful, and she should be the benchmark that ALL teachers strive for. Cons: * The Group lessons don't really teach much beyond water comfortability. Instead of helping each child improve individually, the teachers just go through the motions in a systematic pattern each class. * The school shows little to no interest in caring about a child advancing; the school only seems to care that our check clears. We spent 1.5 years at the same Group level without ever advancing because the teachers weren't encouraged to push our child. See the note above re: going Private with Coach Ella. * The front desk staff is horribly unhelpful and very poorly trained. We've experienced multiple issues with bookings, billing, and scheduling when interacting with them. There should also be a "no cell phone" policy because half the time we need to speak with someone, the front desk staff members are texting / using their cell phones. * The showers and changing rooms are dirty and gross by the time we need to use them at 5:45 pm. Maybe instead of allowing 2-3 front desk staff to play on their cell phones all shift, there should be a rotation of light cleaning every 30/60 minutes. A little bit of care would go a long ways.

Even though she did, she kept getting the alert to sign the documents. We found parking just fine and where swimright academy is. Emma who was working the check in desk was amazing and polite with us. Cash was the instructor and he did an amazing job with our daughter even though she was crying. He was very helpful on what class would best serve us and our daughter. We chose the private lesson first to see how it is but we'll be trying the baby and parent session next to decide if that one is better for us.

After several months she can't do the back float for as long as they'd like in order to progress her to anything else, but the program is completely linear, so if your kid can't back float independently for a long time, then they won't teach them to do anything else. It is a busy, loud, revolving door of kids coming in and out, and they move right to the next kid when yours gets out of the water, so there's not really time to talk to the teacher about what they will try differently next time. Trying to call the office is no use unfortunately. I've never gotten through. I wouldn't recommend this program for kids who need a tailored approach or who are nervous in the water. Maybe if your kid is already a great swimmer.

My son is currently working on remembering his breathing while swimming, and I have already seen great progress. His instructor, Reya, is wonderful with him. She keeps him motivated and offers plenty of verbal praise, which is exactly what he responds to. The facility is very family friendly. There are changing cabanas available to use after class, and the pool area is shaded with plenty of space for parents or guardians to comfortably watch. Classes are 20 minutes long and offered on either a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule or a Tuesday and Thursday schedule, which makes it easy to find something that works. They also offer parent and me classes for babies on the weekends. The owner, Jennifer, is so kind and clearly pours her heart into what she does. You can truly feel her passion for swim safety and for creating a supportive space for kids to learn and grow. We are so grateful we found Water Otters.
