View from the park of the casino and full moon

The best RV park in the area! Beautifully situated within nature, quiet community, ice machine and excellent laundry facility. Take long walked through acres and acres of forest with a beautiful creek and wild flowers everywhere! You can easily get your propane filled, enjoy park activities and events almost daily and enjoy the beauty of this park! Highly recommended!

Of course the activities at this place are geared towards the elderly. It's a 55 years old and up RV park. Most if not am are retired. We've been escapees members for 5 years and finally stayed here. It is awesome. It's ran by the residents. If your a member or thinking about becoming one (which is a requirement to stay here) just checkout their website. There's a casino a few miles away with a Gas station that is 25% cheaper than your average station. Great restaurants and grocery stores within 12 miles. We really enjoyed Our relaxing visit. Can't wait to come back in warmer months.

Ask the Community - Skp Park Sierra

    Do you have any openings?

I am not an official park spokesman, I am just your average park member. You visit the park and fill out an application, then you are put on a waiting list. The waiting list seems to move fast, usually in less than a year there will be an opening.

Do they have fire pits ? Can you have fires?

There are no personal fire pits, and no open fires allowed. The park is in a high fire danger area. They do allow the portable contained propane fire pits.

Squaw Leap…read more When the Squaw tribal people found out the European immigrants were coming closer to their territory, many of them " leaped " off those cliffs and committed suicide because they didn't want to be captured and enslaved as that was the case for many other tribes. Hence , the name " Squaw Leap ". From the agricultural town of Fresno to the trail head is only about a 40- minute drive . You drive through a small town of Prather and Auberry , take Powerhouse Rd, Smally Rd and you'll reach the parking lots. As of May 22, 2021, the visitor center was closed , the Nuckhahee learning center was also closed but the Ya Gub Weh Tuh campground was opened, the trails were opened and the Indian Village was also opened. Aholul group campground also opened. Hiking : 1. You can hike to the bridge. It's a very easy short hike, but when you get to the bridge , you are rewarded with beautiful views of the San Joaquin River Gorge. A nice spot to eat lunch. Some folks fishing down below by the water. 2. You can hike the Pa'san Ridge Loop Trail. It's uphills and I'd rate it moderate. 7.9 mile , 1,538 ft elevation gain. Loop. (AllTrails.com) 3. You can hike the Wuh-Ki'o trail. I can't tell you because I've never done this one. 8.0 mile, 1,354 ft elevation gain. Out-back. (According to AllTrails.com ) It gets pretty hot here during summer months. Avoid doing this hike in the summer. Today was unusually cool for this time of the year in this area. All of the parking lots were full , tons of cyclists, trail runners, hikers. Pretty busy place.

The vehicle entry fee is $5 and you are allowed one re-entry for the day. Fishing is allowed. I don't know how good fishing is here though. I recommend bringing your own pop up tent for shade and chairs for seating. Wear swim shoes for the river rocks will hurt your pretty little feet. Please know how to swim if you are getting into the cold water and wear a flotation device if you are not a strong swimmer. The river current is pretty strong and it will carry you away. The kids and I just stopped out of curiosity for I had not been to this park since the 80's. The boys said it felt as if they were at a party because of the music and the smell of carne asada from the BBQs. So, if you are looking for a reserved and secluded swimming spot...this is not it. I give this place a 4 star rating for being local, having bathrooms, and for how inexpensive it is. Fill up your car and hit the river. Let's make use of our local parks.

Today, a community holiday fair was held at Fresno Flats. I joined the lucky folks and did a walk-about. Holiday music fills the air on this gorgeous morning, while animals made their debut. I made friends with a couple of goats - actually, it was mama and her kid. As her kid nuzzled up to visitors and chewed on some treats, mama stood guard. I even managed to pet the kid and persuade it to eat out of my hand. Present were two food trucks. Chef Yuji and his lovely wife, Veronique are known to everyone in this little town. Their food truck emblazoned with Matsumoto Samurai's Kitchen parked in its usual spot, offering several Japanese delights to choose from. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious. The chefs take pride in what they serve. Of course, I couldn't walk away without getting my favourite. Poki Bowl: fresh tuna and salmon over sushi rice and two sides. I stopped by a stall manned by Stacy (she gave me permission to take her photo and post it on social media). Stacy said she makes all the natural products herself: soaps, candles, lip gloss, etc. The items looked clean and well packaged. I think they're perfect as stocking stuffers, or just a sweet gift to someone special. It looks like everyone there was having a lovely time: children dressed up and playing in the park, while adults chatted under the tent. There were folks in period costumes handing out candy canes, even Santa was on hand to 'ho-ho-ho' his way. Overall, this is a lovely place to spend a few hours.

A favorite of ours is Bridle Vail Falls. It's a rest stop with plenty of bathrooms, but also there's a really nice easy walking trail and Bridle Vail Falls is up close so you don't have to hike a mile or more to see it. A great place to refresh and stretch your legs. There was some road construction so naturally with a two lane road there are delays. Not too long of a wait. The previous fire damage is obvious as is the new growth. Once inside Yosemite Village things are back to normal (thankfully) and the glory that is Yosemite reigns supreme. We stayed about 25 minutes from the South Side Entrance and arrived at YNP around 4:30 am. We did not have to pay entrance fees and could experience the beautiful sunrise. If you can do that, please don't hesitate; it's so worth it. Plus, if you start early, you avoid the crowds and see more of YNP!

Yosemite Village has plenty of parking and can get food, drinks and use bathroom facilities. There's also an information center that will provide you with free map of the area or answer any questions you may have. We recommend trying the breakfast and deli sandwiches at Degnan's Kitchen. They also have Peet's coffee. You can also buy groceries or souvenirs at the Village Store next door to Degnan's Kitchen. You can catch the Yosemite Valley free shuttle service to take you to many of the scenic locations if you don't feel like doing the long hike to each location. From Yosemite Village, we walked to point #1 on the map: Lower Yosemite Fall and the Cook's Meadow Loop, the waterfalls you see in my pictures. This location is kid and stroller friendly. The walk takes about 30 minutes. We look forward to visiting Yosemite in 2027. A must visit!! Happy Yelping :)
