For the building they rent out, this is about as perfect as the review cen get. The fro-yo itself? Good, just watch your combinations (that's what can make it suck). Lots of variety. I just don't think it's nessicary to have more than 2 people working at a time. The line is quick which makes it nice, as well as being able to walk out with your froyo and not worrying about it melting all over you. The topping selection is nice, I just wish the fruit looked a bit less disconcerning. The atmosphere? It's shitty. Nothing special, hardly any seating (not that you'd want to sit as you tend to feel smushed in and your personal space violated, It's impossible not to feel claustrophobic when crowded. read more

This place is great! It has a delicious variety of frozen yogurt flavors (and low fat too!), coupled with an inordinate amount of toppings. The decor is trendy, featuring flat screen televisions playing music videos, and young, hip furniture. Teens are often the clientel, so if you're older than that, you're better off going for the yogurt versus 'the scene.' Try the cake batter and cookies 'n cream- they are the best. Pricing depends on how much you put in your cup since it is weight based. This is another major bonus, so you only spend and eat as much as YOU decide, instead of the business deciding it for you. read more

Bleh. I know in terms of location, this Swirll should score higher in my book. It really is quite convenient for a Sugar Lander because you can just pick up your cup of froyo and take it for a (small) walk around the town square. Alas, the place is teeming with more teeny boppers than a T Swift concert, though to some degree that's an unavoidable evil in the town square when school is not in session. It's also way too crowded and has minimal seating. The flavors, however, are my biggest problem. Their fruit flavors are way too tart, and their non-fruit flavors are saccharine. I will say Swirll has plenty of toppings to counterbalance this, but that now seems pretty standard in the froyo world. I'm also not a giant fan of their "What is it you want to sample? I will give you a teensy bit myself to make sure you don't overload your little cup and freeload!" practice. It's restrictive, making you feel kind of gluttonous for asking to sample more than two flavors, and leaving you no closer to a decision when most flavors are just striking out. I will admit I was spoiled by Austin's over-saturated UT-area froyo market, with about 6 or 7 vendors jockeying for supremacy with low prices, the best i-can't-believe-it's-not-ice-cream flavors, very regular debuts of new flavors, and more forgiving sampling set-ups. But I think Swirll really could be a lot better with more natural tasting frozen yogurt and a more generous sampling policy. However, I will never find the superfluous "l" cute. read more

I went there once and probably won't be back unless I was at the bar or eating near by and didn't feel like driving to another place. I mean there frozen yogurt is not bad, but it is not that great either. The place is very crowded, and it took forever to get through the line. They also charge more than other shops in the area. I was really hoping this place would be the pinkberry of Sugar Land/Houston but it's not. :( The original was very tart. I like tart but this was the tartest fro yo I've ever had. I drove 20 mins to this location and took my family and inlaws consisting of 8 people. We got there 35 mins prior to closing and the lady said sorry we are closed? What kind of business turns away their patrons. Here I was trying to give them business and just because the employee wanted to go home, she decided to turn us away. My froyo was very sour and watery this time around. For the last four to five times I came here I haven't seen the strawberry flavored yogurt, which is too bad because that is in my opinion the best tasting one here. Lots of different toppings and even nutella sauce are usually available. And admittedly I used to like this place a lot because of the strawberry flavored yogurt and the more mature atmosphere(workers used to be between 18-25). Not sure if the more mature workers running the store made the yogurt tasted better but fun for sure the service was much more friendly before. Now I notice Swirll is typically run by the high school level kids and it negatively affects the yogurt flavors and texture. Best frozen yogurt place in Sugar Land with a variety of flavors and enormous selection of toppings. I can always satisfy my "sweet tooth" here. Unlike other ice cream, yogurt or gelato places you fill your cup with as much or as little as you want and pay according to the weight. You also have the choice of endless toppings. SO...I have finally come around to write a review about Swirll! WHOOO~ first off, this Swirll is located in a pretty happening area. Lots of people, especially on weekends, who roam up and down the center area. It is right across from Fish City Grill, Cafe Express (yeah to their skinny breadsticks), the Burning Pear..and down the street from Amici and other places I can not quite remember... but anyways, it is a great place to stop by for dessert! and a better alternative compared to Ben and Jerry's, hahahaha. The selection of flavors was amazing...the most I have seen at any other place (red mango, berripop, sweet lola, etc).It is a self-serve.I love the flavors cake batter, strawberry, and ALLof the vanillas :]. The taste is great but eh at the same time. I have had better tasting yogurt at Red Mango than this place...I guess I like the taste of a more tart yogurt..? But i do not want to discourage you from going here! The toppings are amazing as well. THEY HAVE MOCHI, yumm. best topping ever..along with strawberries and mangoes. The price, however, is a little much. 43 cents/oz :/ and there is not a huge variety of sizes..two cups and a parfait looking plastic cup..that is all. As much as I adore my frozen yogurt, sometimes it just isn't worth fighting through the crowds for or having to park in the garage across the street. That being said, the yogurt is icier than I remember but they do have a rather impressive topping bar. I have been there couple of times in the past month and noticed that they over charge you. I got 9 oz of yoghurt and they charged me $8. When I went second time the overcharge was slight more but not as much. On asking, cashier explained that was their weight is not in the ounces but rather some measure that they subtract from a weight of a pound - confusing & overcharged! I get approx 8 oz of dozen yogurt at several leading yogurt franchises but never had to pay $8 for a medium cup of yogurt. I see a few bad reviews on yelp about this place, but I've never had a bad experience here. Yes, it can be crowded and loud and busy, but we always zip thru, get what we want, pay and leave. Never any problem and we've been here lots! There's so many places to sit all over this area, finding seating somewhere is never an issue. We love to walk to the square and sit by the fountain. Anyway - always clean and very courteous service - cleaning up after the messies. And I've always been welcomed when walking in - something more retail should do! The best thing about this Swirll is the location. It's super convenient to pop right in when you're strolling around SL's Town Square. I've always loved Swirll for its bright, clean atmosphere with the cheery orange mod chairs. I particularly like the one in Sugar Land Town Square because the young (mostly high school) staff are always cheerful and nice and cleaning up the yogurt dispensers and counters. They seem like they're having fun and really want to be there. The flavors here are good and there's plenty of them. Today, I had dulce de leche, vanilla, cheesecake and cookies & cream. They have a huge selection of toppings and syrups ranging from cheesecake pieces (my fave) to fresh fruits (even lychee) to candy bars and Nilla wafers. The price is 43 cents and ounce which is a bit pricier than other places but it's conveniently placed right in the center of town near tons of eateries so it's a great after dinner treat. My only gripe is that I wish there were more outdoor seating since the 3 tables out there fill up pretty fast in the warm seasons. They also have lots of non-tart flavors that are rich in flavor but low in fat.
