Been coming to see Dr. Tran for two years now and really enjoy her kindness and positivity. Her office is located in Walmart next to the eye glass area. You can get to her office through that area, but also a door outside before you physically get into Walmart. With COVID-19 going on they had to reschedule my appointment to today and asked me to wear a mask. The same kind bedside manner was there and I was able to get in and out of her office without even my eyes needing to be dilated--I guess I have super wide pupils?!? Total cost was just $59 and my appointment was done in less than 30 minutes. They do take insurance, but offer a great price for annual checks without it. I definitely recommend coming here for your annual eye check up. read more

This particular Optometrist is located in the back of the Walmart vision department. There's a small room with a door to the far right. I believe you can access the office through the outside as well! She was quick and thorough. I took my daughter here for her vision exam- it was $59 (standard-no extras included). After careful review of old emails and records I noticed she had not gotten her vision update for the past two years (parent fail)! Lol I then took the prescription to Walmart vision and was able to get her lenses in less than 5 days. my poor child - however, she can see now! I'll be coming back here when my lenses need to be changed out. read more

Quick and painless. I made an appointment for an eye exam before I came in. The tech did couple of the tests at the beginning and got me situated in the room. The doctor came in and spent probably a whole 10 minutes in there with me. I was out of there in a total of 30 minutes (includes the wait, eye exam and paying). I told her I had dry eyes and she wrote me a prescription for Acuvue Oasys hydrating contacts instead of the regular ones I had been using. She did ask me questions before the test. She knows what she's doing. She's very nice but also very to the point. However, if you have some problems you want to get checked out more thoroughly and want some good quality time with the doctor, I would not recommend this place! But if you just want to get that dang prescription and get the heck out of there, this is your place!! read more

I urgently needed a new prescription for contacts and glasses. I must have been to about 10 different optometrist offices last weekend, but they either didn't take walk-ins, or the prices were out of whack for a simple prescription ($200+ plus "contact fitting"). The one exception was an office in a mall where I could have the exam done at a good price that same day. But when I saw the doctor, I noticed he was extremely cross-eyed...it's awful on my part but I didn't feel exactly confident (kind of like having a 400+ lb personal trainer, or a dentist with rotten teeth) so I walked out. Anyway, as I was doing some shopping at Wal-mart later I noticed the optometrist office. I walked in, asked about the price (from $89 for basic contact prescriptions), the Dr. was nice and kind of cute, and in 30 minutes I had my prescription and complimentary trial pair of contacts...so I'm extremely happy. (Edit) Knocked back one star because I was having some issues having my prescription for eyeglasses filled at Pearle Vision, and they acted bothered to look up my sheet and double check the numbers. I didn't even have time to ask a question about my contacts either before I got my prescription back and the Dr went into her office. So, the initial visit was very good, follow up not so much. I had never come across this optometrist before or her medical office staff, but for whatever reason, the optometrist felt totally comfortable behaving unprofessionally with me. Maybe the optometrist was perhaps having a bad day or maybe was contemplating her own priorities about being a good daughter; but, the professional was rude, and attempted to cross the professionalism line by questioning me about and unsolicitedly inquiring into my personal life. It is not her place, never was it her place, and it will absolutely never be her place to be asking the type of questions she chose to ask me, never having known me beforehand. She needs to figure out how to behave appropriately with her clients if she expects to continue on as a professional. I just wanted to get my eyes tested and to leave, in peace but she didn't allow that for me. I did not at all feel at ease with this "professional" and neither do I trust in this professional's expertise if she thinks behaving this way with her clients is even a little bit acceptable. This was my first and absolute last visit, and offended doesn't even cover how this lady had left me feeling, because unlike her--maybe some of us actually do have our priorities set, and that includes taking care of our family members. I was recommended by a friend to go to Dr. Tran and I really liked the experience I had. I was a little nervous because the office is connected to a Walmart but the office is AWESOME. I was one of those last minute people at the end of the year that needed to use their benefits. I was setup with an appointment with no issues. Just to be clear, this was Dr. Anh Tran at the Humble Walmart Vision Center. I worried it was a different Dr. Tran, but one reviewers description of her being cute is accurate, and others saying it was at a Walmart fits...so... Dr. Tran is the optometrist associated with this Walmart Vision Center, and I have to be honest, I go to Walmart to save money, and for that reason, I didn't expect much. And yet...Dr. Tran impressed me with the time she spent listening and helping me work out what I needed- better than the high end Dr.s. So, Wow! Here's the thing- I came in wanting contacts. Never had them before, but I hate my glasses. I have split vision so I have to take them off and on all day and usually just leave them off. Contacts were sure to be the cure! So she did a throughout eye exam, then took the time to ask me what environments I am generally in, what things I focus on through out the day...and it seemed that with my nearsightedness and my love of reading all day, wearing contacts would cause me more issues than it would solve. My distance vision would be corrected, but it would affect how I see books and computers close up. but I stubbornly liked the idea, and she supported my decision 100 percent, God Bless her sweet soul, and then she asked me to try a pair of contacts out, go walk around and see how I liked them. It turns out she has the prescriptions already in stock. So I put them in - what a bugger those things are! - and walked around. And decided I didn't hate my glasses so much after all. I couldn't read the prescription on the little contact holder because giving me long distance with contacts fuzzes up the near objects. With my glasses, I would simply lift them up and read what I wanted. Can't do that with contacts. Then I tried to get them out and realized that with my big fingers and my lack of talent in this area, I was going to damage my eyes in a hurry. This is not something I could do on a daily basis. So, she spent a lot of time helping me decide what would TRULY fit my lifestyle, while not deciding for me, and she used a lot of her product ( I also tried the colored contacts) so I could feel confident in my choice. For all the time of hers I used and for all my fickleness, I may not be her favorite person today, but she is certainly mine. This is a top notch optometrist. And the people in the vision center were quiet nice and helpful too. read more

I hate going to Walmarts but when I googled "walk-in eye doctor in irving," she was one of the names that popped up. I called to make sure because I was having an eye ball disturbance, and they confirmed I could walk in. So I left work and walked in, they saw me almost immediately and took care of my problem. On my way out I made an appointment to get a new contact prescription a few days later. The staff was nice, and the doc took great care of me. I guess my overall point is that I was pleasantly surprised despite my unwillingness to go to that or any Walmart. read more

Dr. Tran is an awesome resource. My 3 kids (now adults) and I have been going to her for over 5 years. She is patient with my special needs son and you can get an appointment quickly or just walk in. She's nice and remembers her patients. I don't use the WalMart Eye place because on 2 occasions, they were rude and very slow - 30 minutes to get waited on is ridiculous. I would have appreciate a "It will be another 20 or 30 minutes... NOT I'll be with you in a minute". read more

I needed to update my contacts prescription and my 'normal' optometrist is in Illinois. I called around a couple of different places but I was getting quoted $200+ (with insurance!) copays and then about $100 on top of that for contacts fittings. That's before you even buy the contacts. So if you want to save money, come here. It was $95 for a routine exam, an updated prescription for contact AND glasses, and 10 pairs of contacts (I wear dailys). There was a little bit of a wait but I was in and out within an hour, which is pretty good for eye exams. I imagine if I had a morning appointment instead of busy "after work" time, it would have been 30 minutes in and out. So come for the cheap eye appointment. But stay because it's professional and they are helpful. Dr Tran's assistant was very sweet. Dr Tran herself seemed a bit rushed but it was end of shift so I understand. She is a top notch optometrist without the crazy prices. Win win read more

The doctor was very kind and professional. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience driving home that night with my new contact prescription. I have astigmatism and my contacts do not sit well on my eyes. I had to keep blinking in order to see clearly but my contacts would shift and my vision would get blurry again. I contacted the office and was able to go in again and I went through a very quick test to double check that my prescription was correct. I was told that it was and I just assumed my eyes just got worse due to aging. Fast forward to a year later and I went back to my original vision place I was used to going. I asked the doctor if the brand of contacts might have anything to do with it. Originally I assumed that it was my eyes aging (I was 30 at the time) but I was told that the brand could have something to do with it. I was told the difference in contact brands and the silicone used and the technology behind the two brands. When I was given a prescription for the original brand, my vision became so much better, the way it used to be. I am very disappointed that I was prescribed a very inferior (although cheaper) product. I am especially disappointed because I told the eye doctor that I was used to be able to seeing better and was simply told that the prescription is correct and that she did not consider that the cheaper brand may not be as good as the more expensive brand that I was used to in the past that I ended up reverting to. I suffered through constant blurring to correct my vision with random blurriness for an entire year. The extra star I provided was because the doctor and the office staff were nice. FYI The cheap brand was Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. The original/new brand is Biofinity Toric. I later found out that contacts companies will heavily market to doctors offices with all types of perks and benefits should they exclusively select one brand over the other. Please do your research on contact brands especially if you have astigmatism. Doctors sometimes have a financial interest to recommend one product over the other and may be tempted to consider what is in their best financial interest over your eyes. read more
