My daughter got the most expensive pair of glasses our family has ever purchased at this office. She went on her own because I was working and she needed the glasses before going back to college. They suggested every add-on imaginable, amounting to over $800 AFTER insurance. Admittedly, they asked her about each add-on, but she does not have enough experience to know what is unnecessary. Sadly, the glasses had already arrived by the time I saw the bill or else I would have asked for many of the features to be removed. I stumbled on this business through Facebook last year. The clever name caught my eye but that's beside the point. They took my vision insurance, were close to home, and at the time they were offering a new client incentive so I decided to give it a try. My teenage daughter was the first to make an appointment . The office is nice, big, bright, clean, and the staff is friendly. Our appointment was on time and the Dr. explained everything she was doing. The Dr. listened to our questions, concerns, eye history and we weren't rushed. The office staff was very helpful in selecting frames/contacts and explained each charge and what my insurance covered. Since then my son and I have both had appointments and the same care and consideration was given. My 8 year old son broke his glasses just about 2 months after we got them and the office staff (Christine) was very helpful. We walked in at 5:35 (when they closed at 6) and she was ready to help with a smile. She was even able to verify with my insurance any warranty that I had on the glasses. (remember this after 5 pm). Dr rushed me through the eye test. I asked her to wait a sec or go back & she ignored me. The prescription she gave me made it more difficult for me to see long distance. Now I can't see people's faces at a distance. I'd never had that problem before. I called & the Dr told me to give it a some time. I called back again & she said it had been too long, so I'd need to pay again for a 2nd exam. Terrible dr, terrible customer service. Used a Groupon for this place and they treated my husband and me very well. We were able to get contacts and glasses exams for an exceptionally reasonable price. I was unable to use the $100 credit for a pair of glasses. Their price for glasses is pretty ridiculous since I (with a very basic prescription) would have had to pay an extra $100 to get their cheapest, ugliest pair. I went to zennioptical.com instead, and my prescription is perfect. As for the contacts, the issue I had was solved with a brand that works better with my dry eyes, and the doctor was very nice and accommodating. My husband asked way more questions than I did, and she answered every one clearly and in depth when necessary. I really love a doctor who does not get impatient when asked a lot of questions. We were not rushed at all, and they were patient with our 5 year old. The office is very nice and clean. My only complaint about the atmosphere was the constant hammering from the construction next door. Not their fault so no stars were taken for this. read more

I just came back from my eye exam at V Eye P Eyecare, and I really felt the need to write a review. I was very pleased with the level of service. My last optometrist in Dallas was HORRIBLE. His office was cramped, and he wasn't friendly at all. I had the complete opposite experience at this office. The office was spacious and the staff was attentive. The wait time was also very reasonable. They called me back in about 5-10 minutes. Monica, the front desk person, was amazing. She was so sweet and very friendly. I really appreciated that. When she did my first view eye test before the doctor came in, she was great. I really liked her a lot. Dr. Bhana was also really good as well. Not the most friendly, but at least cordial. She explained the different tests and what they were for. She also recommended that I choose a different kind of contact lens since the ones I've been using for the past 10+ years were an older technology and not letting enough oxygen through to my eyes. I really appreciated her taking the time to explain everything to me. She also told me that I had slight astigmatism in my left eye, explaining why my left eye felt a little weaker than my right. My previous doctor didn't bother to tell me that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE AS OF 8/1/12: I will not be using this location again. While the customer service at my time of the visit was great, I have not a good experience with them since then. When I called to make an appointment, I told the receptionist that I did not have insurance and would be a private pay patient (i.e. all of this is coming out of my own pocket). I made sure to ask how much a new patient exam for glasses AND contacts would be WITHOUT insurance. I was told $120. Sure, ok, that makes enough sense. HOWEVER, when I went into the office for the appointment, they asked for my insurance card. I told them I didn't have vision coverage, but they insisted on seeing my health care card anyway. I showed it to them. Turns out, they tried to file a claim THROUGH my insurance company even after I told them I DON'T have vision coverage! They called me a month later to tell me that I was now responsible for another $120 that my insurance company wouldn't cover. Well duh they aren't going to cover it! I'm not sure where the extra $120 came from, so I'm really confused. They couldn't tell me with enough clarity. So now, when all is said and done, I owe them more money even though I was told upon my first call to this place that the cost was $120. I recommend proceeding with extreme caution when using this place. I don't feel that they are being forthcoming with their customers and are trying to be paid double time. read more

My insurance should have paid for 100% of this but I ended up paying about $800 with all the options (anti glare, anti scratch, etc). I'll assume that was my fault. They had a couple of frames that my insurance would have paid for but I didn't like them so I paid extra for their other frames. The problem is, I cannot see out of the glasses they sold me though...still blurred..especially out of my right eye. I wore my glasses for a couple of days to see if my eyes just need to adjust but still not in focus. That was about 8 months ago. In their defense, I didn't go back for them to see if they could fix them. I started wearing my old glasses with much better vision. Now I will go somewhere else and, I guess, write off the $800. :( read more

I have to say I almost didn't make an appointment here due to some of these reviews but I'm glad I did! Brought my daughter in for her exam and a new pair of glasses. I called on a Saturday morning to see if they had availability and they made arrangements to get us in at 11:30, we arrived, staff was friendly, no one rushed any part of the exams and they answered all my questions in a friendly & professional manner. Dr Bhana even wrote a letter per my request to let my daughter's coaches know her vision without glasses was perfectly fine for her sport despite my daughter's physician stating she was released to play only with her glasses on even though we knew she only needs them for reading/classwork. They were not pushy, helped us pick the right frames and they looked for a way to get me the best price since we are self pay. Very satisfied with this office and we will be back! read more

I'm a student. I don't have insurance. I got the deal from Groupon to have an eye exam at veyep. I had bad experience with them. I told Dr. Poonam Bhana that my eyes are dry most of the time. She gave me the contact that make my eyes even dryer and uncomfortable. I had to come back and change to the different one. One of the staff told me that he doesn't care what glass I am getting there. Their price for glasses are way too expensive, even with $200 coupon you still end up pay 200 something for a pair of glasses. I had bad experience with them so I decide to get glasses somewhere else. Now I want to order contact lenses from Walgreen, they told Walgreen that I got the wrong prescription, so Walgreen cancel my order. I called and talked to the front desk girl name's Christi and got yell at. I called again and ask to talk to the Dr. Poonam Bhana to ask her to add the brand of the contact lenses that I wore before to my chart so I can get the contact lenses from Walgreen. But again another girl from the front desk told me that I have to pay $40 to come in and try on the brand that I want then they will approve it with Walgreen for me to buy those lenses. I don't know how other people got good experiences with this place. I will do everything in my power to spread the words and make sure that people I know will not come to this place. They don't have patients that's why they advertise on Groupon and now I know why. If I were you, I will run the other way from this place. Unless you want your life miserable then come here and deal with them. read more

This place is way overpriced, along with the Doctor who doesn't know what she's doing, they want you to purchase everything there, their contact lens fit cost is $70, they use your insurance to pay for a traditional eye exam. The service was very poor, the doctor didn't want to give me my RX so that i could purchase the contacts cheaper via 1-800 Contacts!!!! I wouldn't go here if you want a better frame selection, and not have to come out of pocket using your insurance $200, because i did!!! Total waste, i could have went to Wal Mart and paid less to get a contact lens exam. Will never come back to this place. read more

If I had read some of the comments here on Yelp prior to my appointment, I might not have made an appointment, but I did so due to the convenience of their location to my office and am I ever glad that I did. I was extremely satisfied with my first visit to V Eye P for an eye examination and new prescription. I feel that I must mention that I tend to hold doctors and their staff to the same standard that I would with any other customer based business. I know that when I owned my own business, if my customers weren't happy, I wasn't happy because if my business had no customers we had no revenue. All too often I have experienced patients, which by definition are actually customers, are made to feel that the physician is doing them a favor by seeing them. Dr. Bhana and her staff did not do this. They were great! She took the time to ensure my examination was as accurate as possible, whereas, the two previous optometrist I have used over the last 20 years did not. They always made me feel that they were in a hurry and needed to get me in and out as quickly as possible. Consequently, my new glasses never seemed to be much, if at all, better that my old pair. Dr. Bhana was very professional in her examination and took the time to answer my questions as she explained what she was doing during the appointment. Whenever I had a hard time discerning which lens was the best at improving my vision she was very patient. This made me feel she was taking her time to ensure my prescription would be accurate and I would finally be happy being able to see clearly with my new glasses. In addition, she and her staff weren't pushy when it came time to select new frames. Very bad experience.. I went to V eye P Carollton because the location was convenient to me. I did buy a pair of prescribed glasses for my daughter and one for me. I did buy 1 year protection for my daughter glasses and 2 for my glasses. My daughter glasses were scratched and went to the location just to find out that the protection is only for defects?? It does not make sense to buy protection for manufacture defects.. What a waste of money, and I believe that is fraud. I need to look in to it. Before you buy any protection for your glasses, carefully check what you are buying. The prices for glasses are very expensive, in fact all of the services offered are... You will be better off if you look for another alternative for eyewear and optometrists. The Optometrists at this location is rude and only care about taking your hard earned money with no warranties for you at all. read more

This office is fabulous! I have been going there about 3 years. They found cataracts in one of my family member's that the previous doctor missed 6 months prior. The doctor is fantastic, and the staff is great. They never rush me. When I got contacts the assistant worked with me and was so patient while I learned how to put them in and take them out. I would not recommend V EYE P. The only reason why I went to this place is because I always pass by this place and its so close to my home. I always go to Eye Masters, and I've never ever had a problem. Although Dr. Bhana is a good optometrist, the entire cost of the exam and getting my OWN eyeglasses made with new prescription, was over the roof. I paid about $ 450 for the eye exam (glasses+contacts) and using my own glasses for a new prescription. Also, there are no refunds here..so make sure you know what you are paying for and that you really like it! -- I was not aware of this when I was given the receipt to sign. The other part which I do not like is that it takes atleast 2 WEEKS for them to get my glasses ready!!! That is way too long, other places will have it ready in an HOUR. There is one more thing... the staff kept asking me several times, once on the phone when I made the appt, and second time when I was at the desk about to pay... if I had any special coupons, like Groupon. I did not... and it makes me feel like they are telling me that I could have gotten a better deal. That is not a message that you want to convey to your customers.
