These people are greedy and act like children. I was looking to purchase a Rolex that is worth $6900 and the man wanted $8400. I showed him on my phone how much those exact watches are going for ($6900) then he started acting like a child making excuses stating he has "the best watches around" and accused me of strong arming him multiple times when he is selling watches for way more than they are actually worth. He then said I was asking too many questions when I asked the condition of the watch, the year, if it came with authenticity papers, if it was serviced, if it comes with a box. Called this morning to see about getting my Tag Heuer Battery replaced. They told me it could be done while I waited and gave me a back story of maintenance I should consider as far as gaskets within the watch. Gave me a price out the door for everything. I decided to take it on my lunch break and within 15 minutes it was completed. He actual charged me less because the gaskets were still holding up well. So it actually came back at a lower price than I was given over the phone. I was appreciative of the honesty when he could have easily ripped me off. I would go back in a heartbeat to have more service done if needed OR buy a new watch. Side note - It's garage parking and the clearance of the garage is only 6' 5" so bigger trucks will need to street park. read more

A couple of years ago, I bought a Luminox watch from the Swiss Watch Company. Given that I reside 3,800 miles away on Maui, Gary made the purchase utterly painless, and personable. A couple of weeks ago, the battery in the watch died, and I took it to our one and only Luminox dealer (Grande's Gems) to have it replaced. I was told that, because I didn't buy it from them, they couldn't install a new battery, nor would they send it to Luminox on my behalf. I called Swiss Watch Company and spoke with Gary (who remembered me!). After relaying my difficulties getting the battery replaced, he asked me to send the watch to him, and he'd take care of it. The day it arrived at the store, he replaced the battery, checked the gasket, confirmed the watertight seal, then got it back into the mail to me the SAME DAY. If that isn't customer service, then I don't know what it. Living in Hawaii, I constantly deal with exorbitant shipping costs, and long shipping times. It's refreshing to deal with a mainland company that puts its customers and service first. I can say with certainty that my next watch will purchased through Gary and Swiss Watch Company. Excellent personable service! Today I brought in my Luminox chronograph to have the rubber strap replaced, which he had in stock for $45. It took 5 maybe 10 minutes to replace. Before that, I had the battery changed out in April and that took a mere 10 minutes for $20-25. He has the largest in stock of Luminox watches in Houston. Several places I've been to won't change the strap because they are not equipped, but sell Luminox, like Dillard's and Allen Edmonds. One other jeweler (down the road from this one) told me it would have to be ordered, but sells Luminox. read more

I just happened upon this little shop while doing a google search for preowned Cartier watches, and I am so happy I did! I was toying with the idea of buying online, but I wanted to see the different sizes (in person) of the watches I was considering. NO INTEGRITY Yesterday I went to Swiss Watch Company at 10:30 am to look at a pre-owned watch that I had seen online. Joseph originally helped me. After seeing the watch I told George Cronfel, the owner, and Joseph that I wanted to go to a couple of other shops to see other watches I had seen online. I returned less than an hour later after realizing that I wanted to purchase the watch at Swiss Watch. I took in a high end watch that had been given to me (but was not my style) and asked about trading it in against the new watch. George gave me a ball park price of $1000 but said he would have to talk to another watch broker to confirm the price I left with my original watch and George was going to call me after he talked to the other dealer and I considered taking it somewhere else to get a trade-in price. We went to run some errands and when we were eating lunch George called at 1:11pm to see where we stood on the watch. I told him that I was waiting on him to get back to me with his price for my trade-in. Ten minutes later Joseph called to say that the offer of $1000 was still good for the watch that I had wanted to trade-in. I told him we had another couple of errands to run and then would head back out Westheimer. At 2:11 pm I called and talked to Susan, George's wife (who had not been in the shop in the morning), and told her we were headed that way. When we arrived shortly after 3pm we were greeted by Susan. She immediately opened the box of the watch that I was trading in and said "I have to talk to him, he is way over paying for this watch" and then she stepped into the small back room. The shop is very small and everything that is said can be heard. We heard her tell George that he couldn't pay $1000 trade-in for my watch as it wasn't worth more than $700. When Susan had walked in the back room I noticed that they already had on the counter the watch that I was buying in a box and had written up an invoice for the purchase price minus the $1000 trade-in for my original watch and had even calculated the tax and had a final amount due. George came out of the back room and then told me he couldn't pay me $1000 for my watch but could only pay me $700. I told him that that was no way to do business, that we had had several conversations, I had been there three times, and he had my cell phone number if he had changed his mind. Personally, I think George lacks integrity if he isn't willing to stand behind the original deal. He came up with the $1000 trade-in price, NOT me! George knew that I was very upset because I had driven to his shop three times in one day and talked to him and his staff multiple times only to have him change the price at the last minute. He kept saying he wanted to compensate me and I replied the only acceptable compensation would be the original deal. However, George refused to proceed with the original deal insisting that he would be losing money on it. I do not believe that for a second. I really don't know how he thought he was going to compensate me, he was just making empty efforts in order to placate me. It obviously did not work. I can say without a doubt that I will never return to the Swiss Watch Company as they do not conduct business with my standards. I urge anyone reading this to forgo doing business with them. I have already warned all my friends and acquaintances against doing business with the Swiss Watch Company as it will only result in time wasted. read more

I bought a Rolex Explorer 2 to Swiss Watch Company for service. It was working just fine but I noticed a little mist under the crystal after I was working on cleaning the skimmer of my pool. They suggested that I spend $650.00 for full service for the watch. I told them that I just wanted to dry out the watch and put on a new crystal. They said beyond the full service they could restore the outside of the watch for around $950.00. I again declined to spend that money on a everyday work and play watch. They final agreed to dry the watch out and replace the crystal with new gaskets as need and pressure test it for $230.00. The sales ticket was written out for the $230.00 amount. During the discussions The Swiss Watch Company took off the watch band, read me the serial number, told me the watch was a 1973 model and then they took the watch workings out of the case and showed me the hand written dates on the bottom of the watch case when the watch had been serviced in the past. Then after they took out the crystal and showed me the old crystal gasket. They also told me that Rolex would not allow them the warrant any waterproofness due to the age of the watch. They then told me that the watch would be ready within 24 to 48 hours. Great I left thinking my watch is in good hands. This was Thursday, 3-5-15. On Friday morning The Swiss Watch company calls me to tell me that they put on the new crystal, and re- assembled the watch. Then he said watch is now broken and not working. He said the stem was bent and broken off and the repair cost would be not under $950.00. The stem was not bent and broken off when they disassembled the watch on Thursday afternoon. I told them I will discuss this with my wife and get back to them. I did not call them back but went down to the store on Saturday morning, 3-7-15 Without any discussion, the watch was on the counter, with the old crystal reinstalled. I told them that the watch was in good working condition when I gave it to them to service and it was their responsibility to return it in the same working condition as it was received not withstanding the service they were to provide. The Swiss Watch Company will not take any responsibility for damaging my watch but took the time to take off the new crystal and replace it with the old one. I guess I should feel honored that they did not charge me any money to break my watch when I picked it up on Saturday morning. No Integrity, No Honesty ! and no sense as to how to run a service business. I took the watch to another repair company in the Galleria and after 6 hours the other company came back with a repair estimate of $850 not including a new crystal. Their findings were two broken wheels in the watch workings and a stem replacement. This conforms that The Swiss Watch Company broke the watch or exchanged my watch's guts with a damaged one from a watch they may have had in their shop inventory. A slight mist in the watch did not cause the type of damage noted by the second repair company. I am out $850.00 and the Swiss Watch Company will profit from my watch if they did indeed swap out the inter working of my watch with a damaged unit. read more

I brought my Rolex to Swiss Watch Company to have the clasp tightened and was told that this could be done while I waited. Within less than five minutes the watch was back in my hands with a sizable new indention and scratch in the clasp. I inquired about the scratch and the woman attending to us hastely removed my watch, and ignoring the safety she broke one of the links in the process of removing it from my wrist. To add to my disappointment I was told that I would have to take it to a jewler for repair as they do not have the necessary equipment to repair it. Well, we have just left our jeweler and the link will have to be molded as this is a vintage piece. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Swiss Watch Company. read more

If there were a way to select "zero" stars.. I would. Horrible horrible customer service. Rude... to the point of being obnoxious... and I'm not easily offended. Specifics of my "repair": I come in and ask if I can get two watches looked at (both Tag's). One just needs a batter... so they tell me they can do that on the spot. So, while waiting I endure a carnival like high pressure sales experience of trying to be sold another damn watch. I suppose it was my own fault... I glanced away from my I-phone and asked if they had any dive watches? The guy comes out and says - that he's fixed one... but will have to order parts for the other... but then starts him-hawing about how long it will take and how much it will cost... and it probably won't be worth it. Finally I corner him with "all I need to know is - 'can you fix my watch?'" He responded with "yes." Okay - fix it and call me when it's ready. I leave. The next day I get a call back "our team of professionals has determined that we cannot fix your watch." "Okay... well can you send it to Tag for me and have them do it?" "No... you'll have to do that yourself." So I go back to the store and get berated by the lady... unintelligent blonde (I don't know her name) that "some people just don't get it. The watch is old and it just doesn't work anymore. I don't know why people get so attached to watches... it's old and it's not going to run forever." So then... I see that they didn't fix the watch crown (reason it was in need of repair) but they did change the battery and charge me 25 bucks for it. The watch repairman comes out and hands me the watch "I changed the battery..." "What? Why would you change the battery on a watch that you know isn't gonna work after you sell me a battery?" So... my crown is still broken and the watch can't be set... or do that most important function of "telling time.".... BUT I GOT ME A NEW BATTERY!!! Thanks alot! And then it finally comes out that he hasn't got a clue how to fix the watch... but most importantly he doesn't want to fix any watch that goes underwater unless it has a screw down crown- for liability sake. Why didn't you just say that when I walked in the first time? If I didn't have a job I'd camp outside that store and personally discourage anyone from EVER setting foot in that store. If you have to drive 2 hours to find the "next" nearest watch repair shop... it'll be worth the drive. read more

New to luxury automatic watches, I paid a visit the Swiss Watch Company to see if they could help me troubleshoot/diagnose a newly purchased watch that was not performing well (bought from an unrelated internet vendor). There I met George, who was very friendly and willing to help even though I did not purchase from his store. Not only was he knowledgeable on potential issues based on the symptoms but was able to advise me and guide me through how should approach the vendor suggesting a repair under warranty. During this time he was happy to take a performance reading on the watch as well as change out the watch strap back to the original to help facilitate my return to the vendor. I was also able to check out the impressive inventory he had on hand while I was there. All in all a relatively simple interaction but a pleasant experience nonetheless.
