bacon, egg, cheese breakfast sandwich on pretzel bun
    Justin S.

Swissbakers offers a solid assortment of breakfast sandwiches, most at $5.75 (the avocado one costs extra). They offer the standard array (egg, cheese, optional protein like ham, bacon, sausage) and some other less breakfasty sandwiches like a tuna sandwich as well. The breakfast sandwiches have customizable bread as well, such as pretzel. It all comes piping hot and fresh. House coffee seems decent. Early morning (7am) batch seems fresh brewed and not over extracted (read: sitting around for hours).

Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a French Roll

Very cute spot really close to Harvard! Not really a place to go on a date but definitely someplace to pickup breakfast. Kind of reminds me of a Starbucks vibe. I had the bacon egg and cheese on a French Roll. It was decent, but the only real notable taste was the bread! If I were to come back I would try the Chocoweggli. They seem to mention it a lot!

    Chocoweggli and coffee

I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The inside of the cafe is very spacious and there is outside seating, as well. I ordered the chocoweggli and a coffee. I've never heard of chocoweggli before but figured I'd try it out. I was pleasantly surprised; what's not to like about a soft bread roll studded with chocolate? The coffee was decent. Overall, I had a good experience. The staff were friendly and engaging. The quality of the products was good, although not outstanding. That being said, I think Swissbäkers is a great option for anyone looking for a quick and affordable bite to eat.

    Hi, Lucerne
    Barb H.

Stopped in for my first time to buy 2 spinach and cheese croissants and 3 pretzels for myself and family. The restaurant is immaculate, with very pleasant order takers. It's a beautiful place to go for breakfast or lunch (they close at 2p). The croissants and pretzels were the best I've had. Croissant had a warm, buttery covering, filled with a good amount of spinach/cheese with occasional tiny red pepper squares. They didn't overdo these little peppers, I only knew they were there because I saw them. The pretzels can be ordered warm or room temperature. Pretzels were so soft and I got the largest size. Some people could make a meal out of the large pretzel alone. We also waved to Lucerne, the red cow on the roof. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings.

I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and a Bacon, egg, and cheese which entails applewood smoked bacon, a scrambled egg patty, and swiss cheese on your choice of French roll, pretzel roll, or croissant. I opted for the pretzel roll, and I am so glad I did! Everything was so fresh and delicious! I savored every single bite. The staff here was also friendly and engaging. The inside is so cute, and the outside has a nice seating area. We took out food to go this time, but when we're back in the area, I would love to eat inside.

Almond Croissant, Chocolate Filled Croissant, Raspberry Berliner

So glad we decided to stop by this cute bakery. I have heard good things about Swissbakers and honestly I wasn't disappointed! The lady inside was super friendly to us and did not make us feel pressured at all when we were trying to pick out what we wanted. We ordered pastries this time around but will definitely come back again to try their breakfast and lunch sandwiches. We got the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, and raspberry berliner. The almond croissant was really tasty and my boyfriend said that the first thought he had when he bit into it was "yummy!" The chocolate croissant was good too, it was filled with the perfect amount of chocolate inside. The raspberry berliner was pretty delicious and tasted like a donut with raspberry filling inside. One thing to note however is that they do close pretty early (around 2pm I believe) so make sure you go early to grab your pastries! They make great breakfasts and lunches. I would say that Swissbakers is one of the Boston area bakeries that you should definitely try if you ever get the chance to.

    Almond Croissant, Nutella Berliner, Chocoweggli
    Areeba Z.

Have heard a lot about this place and decided to get a cappuccino and some bakery items. I got Almond Croissant, Nutella Berliner, and Chocoweggli. The croissant was really good. The chocoweggli was also decent, it tasted a little stale but was good. The Berliner was my least favourite. It was dry and definitely not fresh.

Parking in the area can be a bit tricky, but it's super convenient to get to via the Green Line, which made it easy overall. For food, everything was delicious: The Romaine & Kale Caesar was good, though I wish it had whole anchovies for a little extra punch. The prosciutto bruschetta was incredible, definitely a standout. The crispy cauliflower was my favorite dish of the night, so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The rigatoni bolognese was solid and comforting. The Chianti-Marsala braised beef short rib was insanely tender and cooked perfectly (just wish there were a few more mushrooms!). Also have to mention the dirty martini was so good. The apple turnover is flaky and buttery with a great apple filling, while the strawberry turnover had a fresh flavor and a light, crispy pastry. The café has a nice atmosphere, whether you're stopping in for coffee, meeting up with friends, or just grabbing something to go. Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness.
